Excellent video, subbed, tried Mavic 2 on my channel on a couple recent vids, I’m hoping to implement it more into m videos somehow to spice up my vids lol
Awesome! Thanks for sticking around. So far I've mostly just been using the hyperlapse features, but the little bit of testing I've done with filming video has also impressed me a lot, so I'm excited to try out some of the video features also and do some videos on that.
Those hyperlapses are stunning! I’ve had made my Mavic 2 a few days and made a couple but I will take on your tips and see if I can make some better ones!
Thanks Paul! I hope these points are helpful to you. Most of the principles in this video are applicable to other types of timelapses/hyperlapses, which I have done a fair bit of in the past, so I just tried to keep those points in mind while starting to work with the Mavic 2, and so far I've been happy with the results.
Not only is this a greed to Tutorial But you keep her engaged you’re definitely not boring. I appreciate all of these tips I’m going to practice them for my trip tomorrow! Thanks for sending me this
So helpful! I just got the Mavic Pro 2 last week and love it, but I was having some issues with it and wanted to learn more cinematic things. Thank you so much for this clear tutorial of the drone and it's settings and for clearing some stuff up for me like the firmware issue.
In this case I used ND1000, which I think was too strong, but it was either that or ND8, which was way too weak. Once PolarPro releases their ND filters, I'm hoping to do some tests with ND128 and ND256, to see which of those I prefer for getting the long exposure.
@@BlueMantleFilms im looking into an ND filter also.. polar pro that is..do you think an ND 32 is adequate in addition to adjusting aperture to get the a correct/non blown out photos for hyperlapse?
I don't know yet. I read a blog like two days ago (wish I had the link, but I can't remember where it was) that showed that you lose A LOT of sharpness when shooting above f5.6 or something. The sample pics were eye-opening for me because the difference between f2.8 (nice and sharp, so long as it was correctly in focus) and f11 was astounding. It single-handedly convinced me that I won't shoot in f11 if at all possible. So that said, once I get some ND filters I'll be testing and figuring out which I prefer for video and which for long-exposures (such as for hyperlapses). I could theorize, but I prefer to do tests.
@@BlueMantleFilms that's exactly my thought about shooting when we stop down passed.. like what you mentioned f5.6 or more which Generally will start to introduced lens diffraction. ND filter still a must then! Thanks for your input again sir! I'll keep a look out on your videos!
Surprised to run into such a professional and super-helpful video! Subscribed and just sold my P4 to my brother tonight. Will try to sell my Mavic Pro as well and then buy the Mavic 2 Pro. I will follow your channel and hope to see more great videos!
Thanks for joining! And for the kudos on the video! The M2P is a great drone! It isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good, so I don't mind sharing my thoughts in that regard.
Thanks! I hope to make an actual dedicated Pittsburgh video eventually, but for now I was concentrating mostly on becoming familiar with how to use the hyperlapse feature well.
Loved the shots. Born and raised in Steubenville and saw the bridge in the recommended videos and said that was the veterans bridge. Awesome shots there and of downtown Pittsburgh. Also loved the tutorial. Thank you for the training and the hometown memories!
I have watched like a ton of M2P videos, but this one is by far the best! Liked, subbed, love the beautiful shots, great tips and overall professionalism!
Ha! Thank you. I've been very surprised by the such positive response to this tutorial, but happy about it, obviously. Thanks for watching! Let me know when you have some hyperlapses uploaded on TH-cam so I can take a look.
Will do brother! The weather's been a bit crap here in Australia lately, will get out as soon as the weather clears up and I get my polar pro filters :)
Close. Steubenville. But I imagine Pittsburgh will be a subject for a lot of my videos since it's more interesting to film a city than a small town and trees.
Cool shots in Pittsburgh! As a new drone owner, I wonder if when I travel to Pgh, if I can fly my drone and get footage in the area of the point and the stadiums, assuming there are no flight restrictions at the time due to games going on?
It’s ridiculous you ONLY have 12.5K followers, should be at least 100K or more. Your videos and tutorials are really informative and just overall incredible
Wow bro you just convinced me to buy this drone! And THANK YOU for this amazing tutorial, its so perfect i dont need anything else! THANKS! New subscriber here fron the Dominican Republic
Have to say again, this is a great video. LOTS of info in a quick format. Almost too quick. Having to go back can be a pain but having to suffer through long drawn out info is worse. Should have watched this today before heading out for some shots. Thanks! (Again.)
Thanks! I'll admit I was tempted to share individual clips on Facebook pages as I was in the midst of processing the hyperlapses and seeing how cool they looked, but I thought it'd be better to wait until I had a full sequence of hyperlapses. Glad I did.
Just found your channel. I‘ve found only a couple channels where I feel like the info shared is an extra step above the norm and yours is one of those 😎 Thanks for the tips.
Thanks! That's actually one of the reasons I don't upload very often...I have this threshold of "am I actually providing something of value that's unique?", and even though I've got a ton of ideas of videos to make, generally I think most subjects (related to drone, filmmaking, etc.) are already covered ad naseum, so I don't want to add to the noise without a unique perspective.
Awesome! Glad it was helpful (and hopefully can continue to be helpful for others!). I will try to keep 'em coming. But likely I'll need to take a break in the next week or two, because I'm starting to get behind on client work.
Your videos are brilliant and your tut is perfect. Looking forward to applying your tips. Thanks for saving SO many people time from trial and error. Peace...and nice piano :)
Thanks Rebo! And thanks for noticing the piano. I love it too! We moved into our house about six months ago, and it's the first time we've lived anywhere with enough space to have a baby grand, and I've wanted one for years, so that was a priority for me once we got here. We actually ended up getting the piano for free! There was a couple that was selling it for $100, but I think they were excited that it was going to a family with kids, so they ended up giving it to us! So kind of them.
Thanks. My wife said the reason she liked this one more than any of my others is because of the samples/b-roll, so it's good to know that that's working. I'll try to keep it up.
I live in Pittsburgh and fly my Mavic Pro here as much as possible. I’ve been flying for around 8 months now and still don’t have the right equipment to edit but I dabble with Lightroom on my iPad to edit photos. These time lapse videos you shot are amazing and where I want to be! I will get there someday! Great footage of my town and thanx for the tutorial! Now I need to upgrade to the Mp2!
GREAT video Matt. Thank you!! I tried a hyperlapse the other day and it was truly terrible. What you shared are the tips and settings I was missing to get a usable hyperlapse. Subbed and looking forward to more content.
Awesome! Thanks for subbing! I’m glad the tutorials were able to help. I’m looking forward to making more (though probably not hyperlapse tutorials for now...three is enough, I think).
Blue Mantle Films, I haven’t even had a chance to watch the Hyperlapse edit videos. I will though. And any tutorials by you would be great I’m sure. You have a very clear way of teaching things!
I thought this was Pittsburg. Been there once and I agree with you. My wife and I stayed at an Airbnb on top of Mt Washington and I was able to snag some panos with my MP1. I will have to get back up there with the MP2 and do it again!
FANTASTIC! Your very talented for sure, really enjoyed your video lots of information at take in will require a lot of practice you have some very interesting city scape in your area but you have a real eye for composition. I need more time on the editing side got fairly good with Lightroom but no experience with any video editing so a lot of work ahead. Thanks again
Great tutorial! Would you mind sharing your settings as a text list for Tip #5 for manual settings? It's always good to have a starting point and adjust from there for the situation. Maybe a night vs. day settings? I always struggle with manual white balance for example. Any tips on setting that? Do you use the same for day and same for night always? Thanks
great point, and exactly what i was going to ask too. im sort of comfortable playing with the manual settings on a DSLR, but not too comfortable and unsure on the drone, so could do with some pointers or settings to copy
Thank you for the compliment. I wish I could make more tutorials (it'd be great to do them at least 2 per week) but they just take so dang long (at least the way I do them). This one, between shooting and editing, took almost two weeks to make. I'm trying to get more efficient. :-)
Blue Mantle Films Well you gotta get food on the table as well so don’t knock yourself for not making them at a higher rate right now. Quality over quantity is the way to go! Thanks again for the great video!
Yep. My hope is that creative work becomes my full-time get-food-on-the-table work. I would love for stock footage to provide a full-time income so that I can work on creative projects as much as I want, instead of taking on client work that I'm not really passionate for, for the sake of a paycheck.
HUGE thank you for the tips! Love it man! I have not seen any GREAT tutorial on TH-cam like this! Amazing stuff! And yes I will forward on your mavic 2 pro videos!
Thanks, Misael! I think the saving grace for me is the power of editing. When I filmed this I had 45 minutes of just talking to the camera, then narrowed it down to these 12 minutes.
Had a question: does Mavic 2 stop moving when it takes a picture for hyperlapse? Since the shutter speed is something like 1/4, wouldn't the image be blurry if it's moving while taking the picture?
I wondered about this too, so I specifically looked for this when I was doing some low-altitude hyperlapses, and it does not stop moving. I guess it moves little enough in 1/4 of a second that it doesn't end up blurring things very much, though. I did notice in the bridge shot (7:50) that the bridge itself has just a little bit of blur from the camera moving past it while the image was being exposed. I think that actually ends up being good because it softens the elements of the hyperlapse that are moving more in the sequence.
Great informative video! You’re really really good!!! I’m sitting on the fence as far as upgrading from the mavic pro. You sure make me want to do it! Thanks
Brings a lot of memories for me.I noticed that also. I worked on the construction progress as a photographer from the top of the bridge platform towards the wall being built across the Ohio river. In the mid 90's, for Nicholson Construction, I took an 8 X 10 view camera to the top platform of that bridge to take pictures of the wall that was building built across the Ohio River. The elevator within the bridge column at that particular time was not working . We climbed with 30 pounds of photograph equipment on metal stairs with ropes tied to my halliburton cases for 150 feet to get to the top platform to take pictures of the wall.
Great Job! I really enjoyed the details... I just subscribed and look forward to viewing more tutorials on drones, and Lightroom. Oh! The video clips at the start looked awesome!
@0:22 how do you go from day to night in the exact position? Did you match it up with coordinates or is there a way to set points for getting the same shot? Thanks in advance - best drone tutorials I’ve found yet!
Hello everyone. First of all I want to thank you for your tutorial which is very good, I am not really a tutorial viewer but, yours are cool because they go right away to the point. If you don’t mind I have a question. I just got my Mavic 2 pro, I've tried the hyper-lapse, but I noticed that my hyper-lapse files in the SD card come in a MOV video and not in a bunch of RAW pictures. Have you a idea why? Thank you.
Thanks, David! At 4:23 there's a screen recording where I go to "Save Original". In that tab there's a button for "Save original hyperlapse" -- make sure that's set to on (green, as in the video). And below that select "RAW" so that it will save the RAW files, not just the JPG files. Once that's done, it will save the files on the SD card, but they'll be in their own folder, so you'll need to go into that to get those files. BTW, I checked out your profile on SkyPixel -- you've got some beautiful images on there!
Sorry I missed this comment! Thanks, and I'm glad it was helpful. Did you get a chance to watch the Post Production video? I've actually posted two...one a more step-by-step process, the second a more advanced processing, but less step-by-step.
Well done, very informative, should save me some ramp up time! Look forward to your upcoming videos on this and other topics! I went with the Mavic 2 Zoom at this time since I have a P4P. I think that the zoom feature should add another creative dimension, this is going to be fun!
I think one thing that would be cool is if they allowed the possibility for the Zoom to change focal lengths over time. I'm not interested in the "dolly zoom" effect (it can look cool, but I think it has already been overdone for the past year [by way of creating the effect in post production]), but I think there's a place for zooms, and if that could be keyframed and have a slow zoom that takes place over the course of a hyperlapse, there could be some really cool and creative uses for that.
Great video/tutorial. Got yourself a new subscriber. The 9 people thumbing this video down are probably just drone haters in general..there in nothing to dislike here !
I’m still struggling with Waypoint hyperlapses and moving cinematically. I set my waypoints but my videos end up pointing places I didn’t set. Would love to see a real time setup tutorial for elevation and pan movements!
What are the other two? I'm always interested in great tutorial and review content, but I haven't been consuming as much TH-cam content lately because I'm trying to make videos, so if you can point me in the right direction, that'd be awesome!
Great video - inspired (bad pun?) me to start testing this feature today and you saved me a ton of time but still have a few questions. (1) In waypoint mode can you discuss the "too small" and "too big" restrictions the software puts on the camera/drone position? I was trying to figure out what was "suitable" and what fell out of the boundaries. (2) Along these lines, what is your recommendation for setting up the smoothest moves? First time trying, I set the max 5 waypoints and could clearly see in the finished video where the drone transitioned from one waypoint to the next. Clunky. The second time out I decided I would just set 2 waypoints for the smoothest possible flight/moves but quickly got the "camera position too big" warning.
Do you have a link to show your Light Room settings for post of Hyperlapse? Also how did you set up for the identical day / night shot? It looks seamless and really nice. I would very much be interested in any information. Thank you....
You're welcome! Weirdly I enjoyed the experimenting, and it's probably because I already knew most of the principles I planned on following, since they were principles I apply in traditional/non-aerial timelapses and hyperlapses, so I was able to get results I was happy with by the second day of filming. When I'm getting imagery I love, it makes it so enjoyable.
Greg Parker thanks! Sounds like that’s going to be my next one...hopefully I can get that made before my trip to Florida, otherwise I don’t know if I’ll have the patience to sit in a hotel room instead of going out and filming.
This is by far the best DJI Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom hyperlapse tutorial out there right now. It is the only one I have found that goes into some detail on the settings with recommended best practices. Matt, thank you very much for your work in generating this and the sequel on post processing. I am wondering if you've had any success in generating hyperlapses on more than one battery? I read somewhere that you can program a hyperlapse based on waypoints, bring the drone home when the battery gets low, and then replace the battery and send it back out to continue filming. I'm trying to do this to get a full sunrise/sunset hyperlapse through twilight with larger photo intervals. However, I can't figure out how to send the drone back out to "continue" shooting. I've been able to "pause" the hyperlapse, but as soon as I bring the drone home to land and swap the battery out, everything gets reset. Any suggestions?
I have wondered about doing an extended hyperlapse, but have never done it myself. The method you suggest wouldn't work, I think, because of the gap in time to getting the drone back, fresh batteries, and starting back up and getting to its spot. The only way I can think of that could allow stitching multiple hyperlapses together would be to have two drones and to start the second hyperlapse with your second drone exactly as the first hyperlapse were finishing. Using waypoints might work for this, but you'd also want to be careful because the drones would end up getting close to each other at the end of the first/start of the second. Also, if I were to do this, I wouldn't be comfortable (nor would it be legal for me as a Part 107 operator) trying to operate two drones simultaneously, so I'd need to have someone else there to be in charge of the second drone. Hmmm. This has me really intrigued, though, as to if this could be pulled off and how good the results would be.
So helpful. Thank you for creating and posting this. Excited to see your post processing tutorial. I was surprised to hear that you don't find you have to go into After Effects to do additional stabilization. I've had to do that on some of my ground hyperlapses. Can't wait to give all of this a go!
Yeah, when I'm doing regular (ground) hyperlapses I have to use After Effects. It's usually at least two layers of stabilization, first by tracking a point in the image to align the various pictures, then running Warp Stabilizer over that. But for the Mavic 2 I found the images were close enough to aligned that just running Warp Stabilizer in Premiere was sufficient. I was pretty excited about that because it speeds up the workflow significantly!
Finally got out to give this a go and working on stabilizing in PPro with Warp Stabilizer. Did you stick with default settings or have better luck changing some? Right now I'm trying: Result: Smooth Motion Smoothness: 50% Method: Subspace Warp Preserve Scale: unchecked Framing: Stabilize, Crop, Auto-scale It's a pretty big improvement, but still notice a little jelly in the buildings.
How stable it will be will depend a lot on how it was shot. If you’re close to objects, stabilization will have limited results. Most of the settings you use are the same as I use. I usually aim for the auto-scale to hit around 102%, so I adjust the smoothness down until it hits that. A lot of times I use 25% smoothness, but I have gone down as low as 2% smoothness. I also check preserve scale so that the scale isn’t fluctuating throughout the hyperlapse.
Thank you, by the way. Hyperlapse is a new concept for me and I'm waiting for my mavic 2 to be delivered so I appreciate you breaking this down. I've been trying to learn what I can 😉
Hey really dug the toot! Simple fast and to the point, just easy to understand. What part of FLORIDA? I’m in Naples , if you get this way holler maybe show you some spots!! Take care thanks
Hi Matt... Wow!!!! your work is awesome . I really like your visual quality and also the rhythm of your explanations. I have a problem with my Mavic 2 Shooting, especially with my hyperlapses, I´m getting a lot of noise or flickering in my videos and I know how to use NEAT VIDEO but I want to ask you if I can get rid off this noise while setting my camera...any thoughts. In advanced thank you very much
Great video, you're easy to follow along with through your excellent descriptions. Going to bar harbor Maine, with my M2P., Will be trying out your technique to see what I can get. Looking forward to your tutorial in post! Can you also tell me what platform, hardware you need to be able to edit 4K at 265. Looking forward to more of your great input on how to handle all of the wonderful thing is this drone has built into it!
Hey Tom! Thanks for watching! Have fun flying in Maine! We were there three years ago for a few days and it's beautiful. We had hoped to come back this fall for some foliage chasing, but I'm not sure it will happen because the next two months are really busy for us. My footage doesn't play smoothly on my machine (a 2015 MacBook Pro) so I'll probably need to get a new computer soon. But in the meantime I use proxies to help with speeding up the workflow.
Excellent video. Waiting on my Mavic 2 Pro, and night hyperlapse is my first project. Please explain the meaning behind reversing the end point you mentioned. I didn’t understand what exactly you were trying to show by that.
+Lance G I guess maybe I skipped a little too much while trying to explain it quickly. The reason I like it is two fold: 1) I think it’s more important for the end of the hyperlapse to be framed up and looking good, so I always want to put an emphasis on that more so than the beginning. By framing that first, then I know where the hyperlapse is going, so I can more easily figure out where I should put the drone for the start of the hyperlapse to make for a cool movement. And 2) it would be possible to set up both waypoints in either order, but by setting the end as “Waypoint 1”, and the start as “Waypoint 2”, and then setting it to go in reverse, then once I hit “Go” the drone can immediately start the hyperlapse instead of needing to fly to the starting waypoint.
Hey great video. You get to the point on everything without a lot of bullshit in between. Lots of great tips. I know this video is over and lots has changed. I just got a Mavic 3 Cine and when I do hyperlapse I can set a 1/4 second blur, also my favorite speed and it reverts to 1/15th and not enough blur. What do you think is happening? I set camera settings manual first then go to hyper lapse but of course so much has changed since this video was made. I have tons of ND filters, so not sure what I'm doing wrong. I do lots of ground hyperlapse for years and keen to make this work with a drone.
Me too! I knew before receiving the drone that the first thing I was going to do was to figure out how to put an ND filter on it...such a simple step to give the hyperlapses that extra edge.
This was a good, very well presented, well explained video. Looked briefly at your others and they say quality so subbed. Be nice to find one involving Litchi but this one alone is quality.
I just spotted this video tonight, about a year after you released it. Just subscribed and will begin checking out your other videos. Thanks for sharing your skills.
Really excellent stuff. Fantastic tutorial. Only one thing puzzles me: you are saying to use RAW and an interval of 1 shot every two seconds. But I was under the impression that both Mavic 2 models cannot be set at les than 5 seconds in RAW mode. Am I missing something?
Thanks! I do intentionally try to give valuable information beyond just "here's the buttons you press", so I'm glad so many people have responded well to that.

Very informative video.
What level of ND filter did you use? ND4, ND8, ND16 etc? Or just try trial and error? Thanks!
Nd4 is 2 stops ND8 is 3 stops and ND16 is 3 stops. So he compensate using aperture (f-stop) for the right exposure he need using those ND filters.
In this case I used ND1000, which I think was too strong, but it was either that or ND8, which was way too weak. Once PolarPro releases their ND filters, I'm hoping to do some tests with ND128 and ND256, to see which of those I prefer for getting the long exposure.

This is the best tutorial on youtube! I cannot wait to apply all this to my Mavic Pro 2, thank you so much!! :)
Ha! Thank you. I've been very surprised by the such positive response to this tutorial, but happy about it, obviously. Thanks for watching! Let me know when you have some hyperlapses uploaded on TH-cam so I can take a look.
Will do brother! The weather's been a bit crap here in Australia lately, will get out as soon as the weather clears up and I get my polar pro filters :)
great help boss!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. Are you using the Mavic 2 for your videos? I'm going to guess you probably also have a bunch of the new GoPros. :-)
+Adrenaline Addiction I love you 😫
Awesome tips! I used to live in Pittsburgh so it's awesome to see that perspective of it and the surrounding areas!
I love how much topography it has...it allowed for a lot of layers and textures for the hyperlapses.
Great great Video!!!! Very nicely done ! Subbed
Thanks! Glad it was helpful.
Your videos are straight to the point without that "am trying to sell you some product".
Thank you for the videos and keep up the great work!
OMG, pittsburgh based????
Your videos and tutorials are really informative and just overall incredible
ah my city
And a beautiful city it is!
where is it?
Pittsburgh?
Wow bro you just convinced me to buy this drone! And THANK YOU for this amazing tutorial, its so perfect i dont need anything else! THANKS! New subscriber here fron the Dominican Republic
Awesome! Glad to have you here, thanks for subscribing!
Have to say again, this is a great video. LOTS of info in a quick format. Almost too quick. Having to go back can be a pain but having to suffer through long drawn out info is worse. Should have watched this today before heading out for some shots. Thanks! (Again.)
This footage at the beginning is AWESOME! It looks sooo good! Nice work!
Thanks! I'll admit I was tempted to share individual clips on Facebook pages as I was in the midst of processing the hyperlapses and seeing how cool they looked, but I thought it'd be better to wait until I had a full sequence of hyperlapses. Glad I did.
Great Jobn. The compound movements you use are much more appealing to watch than some who only use static . This looks really good.
one of the best tutorials I've ever watched on Mavic
Agree
One of the better videos on this feature I have seen. Thanks so much!!
Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful to you.
Thank you Matt for such an useful tutorial with very clear and practical suggestions.
You're welcome!
Hey Matt, Robert here from Australia. Great tutorial the way you deliver it, informative and easy to understand thank you.
this is an incredibly useful tutorial for any aspiring film makers. keep em coming mate!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful (and hopefully can continue to be helpful for others!). I will try to keep 'em coming. But likely I'll need to take a break in the next week or two, because I'm starting to get behind on client work.
BTW, did you see our latest? It's a deep dive into the post production process for these hyperlapses, so it may interest you.
Well done. So far, the best and most useful tutorial on this subject I have found. Straight and to the point and right on message throughout.
I just got a Mavic 2 Zoom last week but planning to get the Mavic 2 Pro this summer. I’ll definitively will use your link.
8 months of flying and I am now going to try and learn Hyperlapse. Found your video perfect for getting started. Thanks!
That was VERY kind of them and I'm certain you and your family more than deserved it. Kudos all around!
super useful! the most informative video about HL on TH-cam! So many tips, thanks a lot!
Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful!
Watched the whole thing! Well done and well documented with examples. Thanks!!!
Thanks. My wife said the reason she liked this one more than any of my others is because of the samples/b-roll, so it's good to know that that's working. I'll try to keep it up.
Enjoyed your video and tutorial regarding hyperlapse. It's what sets my M2P apart from my P4P. Love to see a follow up tutorial on post. Thank you
Thanks! Working on the follow-up video this weekend.
this has to be the best hyperlapse tutorial for the Mavic 2. I did a few hyperlaspses but they were garbage...looking forward to trying again!!!
Awesome video and an awesome city. Looking forward to the dedicated Lightroom/Premiere videos!
Hey Kyle! I did release one last week, sort of a semi-detailed overview of my post process. I have more coming, but it’s a start for now. :-)
I can't wait to get back to Pittsburgh with my MP2, it's one of the most photogenic cities. Stunning timelapses my friend. Subscribed!
I thought this was Pittsburg. Been there once and I agree with you. My wife and I stayed at an Airbnb on top of Mt Washington and I was able to snag some panos with my MP1. I will have to get back up there with the MP2 and do it again!
Hi Matt, I’ve been fine tuning my hyperlapse shots, and this video tutorial is spot on. Thank you.
Great video!! Love your way of explaining the stuff in the video. Perfect. Wish all tutorials were made by you 😅
Thank you for the compliment.
@@BlueMantleFilms wow you did a great job! Pls make more mavic 2 video!
Will do.
Thanks for the video! I see I’m a bit late to the party but I really love your work and find it inspirational and informative.
Literally the best drone hyperlapse I've ever seen! Looking forward to a tutorial on post editing!
Thanks, Elvin!
maybe watch a couple of Jonathan Lucans videos too. Not taking anything away from BMF.
Thanks for the explanation! Maybe looking at the raw pic zoomed at 100% it'll become more obvious, but normally for 4K/2K video it should be fine:)
Great informative video! You’re really really good!!! I’m sitting on the fence as far as upgrading from the mavic pro. You sure make me want to do it! Thanks
LOVE that there’s some shots of Steubenville!
Awesome film, just what I needed before heading out this evening, thanks buddy 👍
Thanks that was great and exactly what I was looking for.
Already looking forward for your Post Prod tutorial.
Sorry I missed this comment! Thanks, and I'm glad it was helpful. Did you get a chance to watch the Post Production video? I've actually posted two...one a more step-by-step process, the second a more advanced processing, but less step-by-step.
Blue Mantle Films I’ll check it soon ! Thanks
Thanks for sharing man - really informative - appreciate the time to share some workflows!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial - would love to see the post processing tutorial as well!
bruceaisher that’ll be coming soon. Thanks for watching!
Great video/tutorial. Got yourself a new subscriber. The 9 people thumbing this video down are probably just drone haters in general..there in nothing to dislike here !
Hey, thanks for the vid. Looking forward to the post production vid when it comes out!
I released it earlier in the day yesterday. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/Htrz9_tzUdU/w-d-xo.html
I’m still struggling with Waypoint hyperlapses and moving cinematically. I set my waypoints but my videos end up pointing places I didn’t set. Would love to see a real time setup tutorial for elevation and pan movements!
Excellent tutorial and great pictures of Pittsburgh!
In the top 3 of the mavic 2 pro vids I have seen so far...great job
That was a lot of knowledge to share, much appreciated and saved me so much time experimenting, thank you :)
Right on! You literally saved me a week of experimenting! Looking forward to your next videos. Cheers D.
Chasing Light and Shadows glad it was helpful!
Very well done and informative. Looking forward to the "Workflow" video.
Greg Parker thanks! Sounds like that’s going to be my next one...hopefully I can get that made before my trip to Florida, otherwise I don’t know if I’ll have the patience to sit in a hotel room instead of going out and filming.
Love the tutorial. Just got the M2Pro & your video is a truly wonderful guide. Thank you!
I just came across your channel. Awesome tutorial on hyperlapse!
Exactly what I was thinking.
Finally got out to give this a go and working on stabilizing in PPro with Warp Stabilizer. Did you stick with default settings or have better luck changing some? Right now I'm trying:
Result: Smooth Motion
Smoothness: 50%
Method: Subspace Warp
Preserve Scale: unchecked
Framing: Stabilize, Crop, Auto-scale
It's a pretty big improvement, but still notice a little jelly in the buildings.
Fantastic. Can’t wait to try this with my mp2 pro. It looks so solid and stable too.
Great work 👍🏼
Thanks. I think it's mostly a matter of knowing and playing to the drone's strengths and avoiding its weaknesses.
Super helpful intro to hyperlapsing! Thanks for the awesome explanation and the well explained modes.
Super informative. Learned a ton!
Hi Matt... Wow!!!! your work is awesome .
Love the ND filter!! Seriously awesome shots
Me too! I knew before receiving the drone that the first thing I was going to do was to figure out how to put an ND filter on it...such a simple step to give the hyperlapses that extra edge.
Superb tutorial and some stunning examples there 👌
Thanks! My hope was that it could be a more in-depth tutorial than just "here's what the manual says" in video form. :-)
Excellent tutorial, superb footage! Well done! Thank you!👍🌞😊
This was a good, very well presented, well explained video. Looked briefly at your others and they say quality so subbed. Be nice to find one involving Litchi but this one alone is quality.
Loved the Three Rivers footage, boats in hyper-lapse look like toys in a bath. How did you go about applying for flying at night?
thanks for this! i just got the mavic 2 pro!! wheww excited to try the hyperlapse!!
The 5-second minimum is a limit on the Mavic Pro, but the Mavic 2 (both Pro and Zoom) can shoot raw at a 2-second interval.
@@BlueMantleFilms Many thanks,
I will try that tomorrow.
I suppose it must have been after a software upgrade
Incredibly helpful advice and amazing hyperlapses to boot, thank you!
Best video I’ve seen on the subject. Thanks!
Thanks! I do intentionally try to give valuable information beyond just "here's the buttons you press", so I'm glad so many people have responded well to that.
