About me (the guy behind the cryptic three T's):
my name is Tom David Frey. I'm half Swiss and half German and have lived in many fantastic places, from the United States to Israel. Somehow cool.
My age? Well, it rapidly changes. But you can surely do the math: I was born in 1992, somewhere in a small town in mid-Rhineland-Palatinate.
Now the relevant things you came here for: I have a strong passion for cameras and drones. I got my first Sony at the age of six and started my own business when I turned 18 (don't ever let people tell you that you will not succeed; Live your dreams!).
Nowadays, I'm shooting videos in many countries. I have private clients as well as major companies I'm working with, f.e. Netflix. And everyone knows that one, right?
But, more importantly, I love to fly and shoot (video) with my drones. I've flown in so many countries already (China, Switzerland, the USA, Spain, Iceland, Israel, Germany, and plenty more) and love to explore the world from above in all its beauty.
That's why my main business is all about drones. I capture the world from above. And I share my experiences, knowledge, and the best new inventions with you.
Drones and cameras excite me so much that I put a lot of time and hard work into creating my videos. And I love that you guys appreciate them!
Now, join me on my adventures and subscribe to my channel.
    Stay tuned and fly safe!
    --------------------
The fine print quickly summed up 💻
Some of the links above are so named "affiliate links". By using those, I can get a small provision for purchases you guys make. That way, I can stay true to you because I don't need companies to pay me for creating videos. I'm independent and loyal to you - the best audience!
Therefore, if you purchase your gear through my links, I can keep up the honest work. 👏
The videos on my channel are property of Tom David Frey. Duplicating and re-uploading them without a written permission is prohibited. Sorry, guys, but that's necessary. I work hard on my content and somehow need to make a living. Maybe instead share my videos, by spreading the link or embedding it to your websites or forums. But please, don't steal my work. 😎
By law, I have to mark my video as a "commercial." I herewith do so: this video is a commercial. Though I promise to be honest to you, my audience, all of the time. I like nothing less than fake reviews and videos that spread half-truths just for the financial gain of someone. I believe that being honest to you is much worthier in the long run than making quick money by spreading fake information. Truth rules! Don't believe me? I already had to give up on two promising cooperations because the companies found my videos to be too honest. I call that my occupational risk. 🦾

Hi Tom, of all the reviewers on TH-cam of the DJI Mavic 2, you are one if not the best. Congratulations. You really do a great job. I like that you don't leave out even the very simple, simple steps for us beginners. Thank you so much, Tom. It is so appreciated by us.

When Hyperlapse Video Frame is on during hyperlapse capture, it overlays a rectangular "frame" on your viewfinder that shows what the post-processed hyperlapse video will display. After capture, the native images are processed into the video, including stabilization, which results in a slight loss at the edges of the frame.

If you turn AFC on it just means, that if you are not recording Mavic 2 refocuses if it detects that the image gets out of focus. If you turn it off, it doesn't. No matter if its on or of Mavic 2 will not refocus while recording. This can only be triggered by touching the screen to focus.

got my best outcome by setting the focus manual to nearly infinity, at the second marker of top. With the small sensor the depth of field at f 4 starts already about 1m -1.5 m in front of the camera up to infinity..

Hi, the "Hyperlapse" setting, is to enable the option to make the "Toast". Once sellected, you can put a slice of bread, (Small Slice) between the two "Clamping arms", of the Controller, it will then, "Toast your Bread", to a golden brown! You can, if needed, adjust the "Heat setting" by the "Right", front wheel. Hope that helped.

Good video Tom looked this up as I fly a parrot Anafi but want to upgrade to the Pro 2 it is the filmmaker`s drone. I film manual in a D.L.S.R and have got into using the light meter I can use the histogram which the Anafi doesn't have and was checking that the pro does . You make some good points especially about the controller screen being too bright and giving out misleading information of the footage that you are filming when in manual been caught out with that before by not using the light meter also the double the shutter speed from the frame rate so important as well. I colour grade everything so I am aware of these settings the 10 bit colour must make a massive difference in the grading choice and watching some Pro 2 videos the files are stunning high grade quality so professional looking

I own both a Mavic Pro and a Mavic 2 Pro. The operation of the exposure
dials at the upper right corner of their controllers is different. On
the Mavic Pro, when the dial is rotated left of right, the exposure
value change continuously and the controller/phone (DJI GO 4 app on a
Samsung Galaxy S9 phone) makes a chirping sound as the value changes. On
the Mavic 2 Pro, the dial must be rotated fully left of right to make
the exposure value change 1 stop and the controller makes no sound when
this happens. I'm using the same phone for both controllers. Is there a
setting (programming the exposure dial) for the Mavic 2 Pro controller
to make it's exposure dial operate like the exposure dial on the Mavic

I have had the Mavic 2 Pro for a week now and I’m really struggling get the amazing quality 4k footage that everyone is going on about…what am I doing wrong?
I’ve tried many youtube’s “best settings” but its not working…I use to own a Mavic Air and so far I think the Mavic Air has better quality footage. Now I know this is wrong…so I’m after your “best Settings” recommendation? because as of now…my GoPro hero 7 black creates MUCH clearer/sharper a crisper footage over my Mavic 2 pro. All the trees etc seem too mushy and it looks more like 1080p footage rather than 4k.

Shaun Preston I’m not sure what is causing it. Did you try using h.265 in settings and try to use dlog it works really well for me.

sounds like your using best setting videos expecting a miracle. Most of the best settings videos you see, are to give what is called a FLAT Colour profile. You hAVE to still colour grade your footage to get it to HOW you want it perfectly.
Also ensure you have 4k selected, and understand ISO,Aperture, and shutter speed and how all these work.

How are you able to fit the iPhone case into the controller? I find that I always have to remove my super-thin case

Haha, I don't know, but it just fits. Even though in order to use it, I need to install a USB -> Lightning cable at the bottom of the RC, because the side cable isn't long enough. Stay tuned!

Many people say not to go above f4.0 with the mavic 2 pro because the image is too soft and fuzzy over this aperture

I have a new Mav Pro 2 and have noticed when filming video the record jams on! I press to stop recording but the record button just spins and I can’t switch to camera! Once I shut down and re start its works again but jams on once I switch to video. It’s when I press to filming it spins and won’t let me switch camera, any ideas?
