    hi Maya, I believe the whte wall there functioning as the giant strut to devide and retaining the steepy land especially in wet/rainy season where the surface water run-off will be so high. if you wil remove it please consult with the oca civil engineer

    Hi Maya. I admire the hard work you are putting into the property. I love to see a young woman who is fearless and hard working! It is already starting to payoff. It’s gorgeous! Plus your living off-grid! Impressive! To those wanting to know how much, say “mind your own business”. You don’t have to be a genius to figure that out. Plus do your own research folks; if you are serious about moving. 😊

    Thanks for the updates of your plans. Plant what you like, where you like. Use cardboard, it's free, unlike plastic. And don't be distracted by comments from anybody. You ROCK! Do whatever you want 😅🌏

    That wall looks to be a buttress holding back a big portion of that hill I would not suggest you remove it otherwise you may have a landslide which could destabilize the building above it. I could be wrong but that is what it looks like to me.

    You need the wall to hold the dirt in so it doesn’t erode and your house doesn’t slide

    Vines get wild after some years without taking care of thems those cement poles should do for thems maybe why they are there, mimosas are very difficult to control but since you are there you can cut thems when they return about the internet depend of the zone you are Nos in my case is better because the antena is near the wall happear to be a staircases, ram pumps will help you you can contain the water but the water have to flow

    Maya, you are planting too close to the wall. Plant a foot away from any structure. Plants need to spread their roots & they will eventually damage the structure.

    • @pollyb.4648
      @pollyb.4648 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Agree! Also the heat reflected from the wall may be too much.

      Plant roots grow down and then spread. If the roots encounter an object like a wall or a rock they just grow around it. Plants are amazingly adaptable.

    Why don't you send some money on a Gardener so when you come back they can cut and clean and clear the land or have some one you trust live there to care for the property and take care of it and clear the land make a space your some one to help you by clearing the land and helping with your crops!
    So when you come back you can start with your building projects!
    This will free up your time and will be worth it in the long run and you won't get so tired also you can work out a work schedule for them !
    Many hands make light work!

    Sad that you won’t say the cost, would help others to know more about what to expect if they want to move to Portugal. Curious why it has to be a secret…. In most Scandinavian countries it’s public record what a house has been sold for.
    Just 2 other questions:
    1) how is it possible to work only for a winter as an architect, is it not a permanent position?
    2) How did you save the money to buy the property? Would be nice to learn the economics behind such an expensive purchase. Did your parents help? Or 100% own saving from jobs while studying? Studying architecture must also be very expensive.
    Thanks

      I had wondered if she might be squatting. I’m not sure what squatters rights are in Portugal but since she is starting her first job out of university it seems odd that she’d have a loan from a bank. Another idea is family money…

    • @dr.crimper1733
      @dr.crimper1733 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also think family money, I actually don’t care.I really like the videos❤, I just want to know because I don’t like that people don’t tell if somebody else is paying. It makes young people feel bad that they cannot do the same, it makes people have unrealistic expectations to their life. Makes people feel bad about them self and I’m sure she doesn’t want that😊

    • @dr.crimper1733
      @dr.crimper1733 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Scandinavia it’s not at all rude to ask what a house/property has cost. Usually it’s public information. Can really not se why it should be a secret🤔 I would really also like to know, also how I, as a young person can be able to afford to do the same…. How is it possible to take an expensive degree AND put money aside for savings? Why not just tell is she inherited the money or the parents made a savings account when she grew up.

    I think it's perfectly okay want to not share the price of your property-it is your vlog and at least for me it seems that we all learn and experience the sharing of a vlog as they go along-I think some magic and space is good you don't need to know everything about everything if a person wants to know the price of the property perhaps when they get their own property then they can choose to share the price..🦆🦆🪿
