Let me give you a great advice about cleaning the oven windows, that I got from my chimney cleaner. After you have burned some wood use a wet paper towel and dip it into the ashes. Use that to clean the windows. It gets alkaline and works as a peeling. It's almost free and has great results
Hi Maya, this looks amazing!please be fire safe: install a fire alarm high on the wall and a carbon monoxide alarm low on the wall. A fire extinguisher for wood burning fires isn't that expensive and can save you so much money if you need to use it!
Hi Maya! Please by a Co worning device. It is very cheap and small. There is a chance to be intoxicated by CO. Especially if the oven is installed by people without special knollege. (No offence!) It is very easy to prevent the silent death of CO intoxication. Greetings from Norway. ❤
A warm, private room with a view. The heater will help to dry out the room even further. Crack a window during the day to allow fresh air in. As the room is now better insulated and less drafty, have a carbon mon/dioxide monitor handy to verify there is sufficient replacement room air for complete combustion. The stone walls and tiles will help to radiate some heat. This room has some focal points: heater, windows, balcony. Great that your family drove it from Germany to your place. The wooden cabin is a visitor's retreat. Or a spare utility cabin. Continue to remove the vines and brambles to reveal the wonderful retaining walls. Some structural fill-in work may be required.
The wood stove I bought for my 1500 SF house in the us was 500 lbs or 227 kgs. It is made of cast iron and soapstone, The soapstone is green in color. I put a inline flue cooler to use the heat going up the exit pipe to also heat the house. I had 3 acres of which 1 1/2 was in woods which I used as a wood lot for fire wood and nut harvest.
Hi Maya, if you want that vine to grow around the post, you need to get rid of ALL the ivy that's growing around it. It will take over everything if you leave it to its own devices.
You are such a force of a woman and I admire your determination and passion. It is a good day to celebrate that your in your home. Next step I gather is 1 or 2 more rooms for you. You really should and do deserve them. Xxx 💕
What a wonderful job. You should be very proud! The wood stove is beautiful. We heat with a pellet stove insert in our fire place. I'm usually awake at 4:00 in the morning, a nagging remnant of 40 years working in a factory. Today the house was a little chilly so I increased the pellet feed a bit and was admiring the beautiful flames. I log onto the computer and there is your wood stove! Is there anything better than sitting by a fire? Thanks for all the time your putting into this content. Stay safe and stay warm!
Small add on for camin usfan. There is fans which has scheebeck element and it generate electricity when owen is hot. It distribute warm air sideways and not only upwards like owen only. Cost some 30 to 50 euros. (For flat top or pipe versions are available).
Wow, Maya! Congratulations on your new woodstove, you are now completely off grid but self-sufficient 🎉🎉🎉the stone blocks for your table should go to surround the woodstove to accumulate heat when you burn wood and then will give you back heat during the night
Magic Maya, the best part is that this was your project and I guess your brothers didn't buy into it initially. But look today, they can't wait to jump into the car and head south. The old hut will be busy come spring, no doubt. So exciting, such determination.
The beauty of Portugal is the seasons. The cold nights in Winter, the wet days. With a warm cosy house and the right clothes. I love the cycle of the year. In July now, I miss my log burners already. By the end of August, I'll have had enough of the intensity of Summer and long for cooler days, heavy rains and cold nights. By the end of March, I will look forward to the coming months of wearing nothing but shorts and t-shirts and those warmer winds. The best product I've found for cleaning glass on a log burner is a hand spray sold at LeClerc. One will last a year. I've tried so many others and nothing comes close. A quick spray and a wipe with paper towel and it sparkles again. Another must, buy an overhead Victorian clothes rack. Perfect for drying wet clothes over the log burner in Winter and herbs in Summer.
So schön ist es geworden. Ich liebe deine Videos und freue mich jedesmal wenn eins online ist. Ich hoffe natürlich, dass es nicht dein letztes Video ist😢.
You have a beautiful bedroom now. Please share your plans for the rest of the stone structures. I imagine you’ll have a kitchen and guest rooms eventually. So much potential.
Liebe Maja!
I am so impressed! Being alone most of the time and in the cold it must definitely be hard. But you always stay so happy and positive :D The stone house turned out beautiful!
Fantastic job Maya! Remove the Ivy from Anywhere you want something else to grow as it takes over and strangles other plants/vines. The new Log Burner is one of the nicest I've seen, having 4 windows to see the fire on all sides is a REALLY nice touch.. Well done! 👌🏴🇬🇧
Congratulations AGAIN Maya, you are sooooo hard working and I am glad to see the progress and how you are also enjoying your home and that fire place !! Special regards from New Zealand again. (Dr Andries Maritz)
Very Happy for you Maya!! You’re dancing around in your dress like a 10 year old girl on Christmas Morning! To feel that kind of peace these day’s in such stressful environments!❤️…. What are your plans for the other dwellings beside your newly renovated cottage?
I'm so happy for you Maya.❤ The world sometimes makes no sense but your happiness makes me happy and hopeful that we, people can be everywhere in this world and call it out home with no problems and just be happy.
Felicidades.
Maya you can be so proud ! You achieve so much !! I'm happy to know that now you will sleep on a warn and mold free house But when i see you on this balcony without guardrail my heart jump !! And now what's next : Kitchen, Bathroom ? guest room ^^
If you dry out that extremely long piece of bark, you will have some of the best fire starter ever. A lot of the brambles can be chopped up for fore starter.
Maya it looks so beautiful! I know the room is small, but please give us a detailed and thorough tour of the beautiful new digs and of your plans to finish the ceiling, balcony, etc. Thank you and enjoy! ❤

And just a little chicken wire around the post will help the vine wrap around!
Congratulations Maya on your well earned reward of comfort and beauty. Happy dancing with you in my heart. Thanks for sharing.

But when i see you on this balcony without guardrail my heart jump !!
And now what's next : Kitchen, Bathroom ? guest room ^^
It is so nice to see you so happy after all your hard work! Enjoy!
Maya ..when you stay paint...do long short sprays and stand back about 4 feet...ten you won't get drips.
If you dry out that extremely long piece of bark, you will have some of the best fire starter ever. A lot of the brambles can be chopped up for fore starter.
Your stone house is beautiful. You are amazing.
Congats, you are a very hard working person and you deserved this.
