I'm Always shoked on how american/Canadian houses are made. When you renovate a house here in Italy/Europe you literally have to dig the Stone walls to lay the plumbing...
@@16demolka are interior walls also concrete in Europe? I hate American buildings for sure. but our house built in the 1940s is super amazing quality, so we got lucky, but I know of new builds in Utah that LITERALLY just fall over. it's insane
Definitely not a fixer upper. It’s crazy that people think that they have to have everything up to date, or “nice” in order to live in! If you have the means to do so, and desire to update things, go for it, but their house before was perfectly fine! Even if it wasn’t their style.
@@annaliesenottveit355right. I find it a little wasteful when people renovate (and thus generate a ton of trash) perfectly functioning homes when they just don’t suit their tastes, but to each their own
I suppose they mean it’s a ‘fixer upper’ to them, but they should probably change their wording. 😅 it’s just an outdated (according to their taste) home they renovated.
Black grout choice is perfect! I regret doing white grout with our bathroom when we renovated a few years ago…. Black would withstand traffic and hide dirt so much better…
We’re currently renovating our new small home in Scotland🏴 with both bathrooms in progress! It’s fun to watch others going through the same process. Absolutely adore your style ❤ Thanks for sharing!
Looks stunning! I like the yellow colour, I think the darker stain on the vanity works well with the colour on the walls. The tiles are beautiful too. You're very fortunate to have a handy husband and to have a budget for reno's, it's not cheap!
I'll be honest. Do I like the color? No, I don't. But I do love the story behind why you chose it and I can tell it makes you very happy. That's all that matters. I completely understand being sentimental about a color, I'm currently trying to convince my husband to let me paint our house a very pale pink to match my grandmother's house when I was growing up.
This is an absolutely stunning Reno. I think it’s awesome that you & Zach both compliment each other’s varying strong suits & work together to create beautiful things together. ❤ Thank you for sharing!
Classic, timeless and inviting! well done. I live in a Victorian 6 bed house in the UK (Whitley Bay on the North East coast) and I love watching your channel for decor and homemaking inspiration while I renovate my home - which is also my job as I run my house as a bed and breakfast! Keep doing what you do xxx
I love how your bathroom turned out!! The colours are so warm and that tile in the bath area is perfect! I've enjoyed all your renovation videos and have gained quite a bit of inspiration. Thanks for sharing!
hey! i just wanted to say that i would love love love if you added the dates of the videos you take it’s so interesting and so relatable that you didn’t get done with it quickly that’s why i would enjoy such kind of transparency
Yall killed it. This is why I’ll never have the Pinterest home of my dreams lol I can’t do the creative process start to finish. The whole time I’m watching this video I’m like “no way those things go together,” and then at the end it’s all insanely beautiful, perfection ✨
Once you’re finished this house it’d feel so perfect if you bought that old family farmhouse and did it up. Plus turn into a homesteader family. I’d so enjoy watching all of that. : )
Can you do a video on how you style your hair?! The way you have it styled in your sit down narrating portions is SO stunning and looks so effortless. I'd love to know what you do!
Stunning!!! Are you putting something around the bottom part of the toilet!!! Specially if it’s a kids bathroom!! Thanks for sharing, love your home ❤️🙌🏼
Can you show how you budget and plan these renovations if you haven’t already? I love the mindset of doing little by little and not all at once before move in. How would you decide what to change before move in. How to you navigate the little changes as a family?
I can't believe there was... cardboard? behind the tub wall?? I know US/Canadian houses are less 'permanent' than the houses here in Europe, but still! When we renovated our bathroom (in Italy) we had to call professionals because you have to go through concrete and stone XD
Delilah is a visionary! I’m curious about smth I’ve noticed in a lot of North American renovations: the single-lever mixer tap faucets are replaced by separate taps. To me, this seems like a regression and not an update, as single-lever mixer taps are so much more practical. Is there a reason for this or just a trend?
I do not like that yellow. To me this yellow is old house / old greasy kitchen yellow / I need to de-grease it with a oven cleaner. But that is okay. The tile is beautilful and could go with a lot of different colors.
Im renting a little log cabin and the bathroom sink is on/in an old chest of drawers and the top is so nasty. Ive cleaned it several times and gotten layers of crud off but i will def try this method on the next goround.

Is there a certain kind of wood you use for the ship lap that helps it not mold easily? Seeing so much wood in a bathroom scares me, being in Texas where it seems everything gets moldy 😂
Absolutely beautiful. Your aesthetic is very similar to my own. Although, I can’t put a finger on this “style”. What do you call it? I have been curating a Pinterest board with a very similar aesthetic for a couple of years, but still have yet to figure out what it “is”. Where do you pull your inspiration from? I am currently designing a reno for my own home. It seems like a mix of colonial/cottage/modern vintage, perhaps? Anyway, would love to know where you gather your inspiration, aside from Pinterest. Thanks, and again, you did a lovely job:))
It's definitely eclectic: my interpretation is that it's a cottage, 19th century shower curtain, modern shower tile, Victorian vanity, farmhouse wainscoting and pegs, mid century modern floor tile. Someone said 90s light fixture. Haven't seen it yet.
I actually love the staining of the vanity. The stark contrast between it and the walls is beautiful!
I'm Always shoked on how american/Canadian houses are made. When you renovate a house here in Italy/Europe you literally have to dig the Stone walls to lay the plumbing...
Yes! So weird. Houses are made of cardboard and matchsticks it feels like 😂
I was thinking the same! It is so weird to me!
Our country as we know it is only 250 years old, not thousands.
But ever new builds in Europe are usually concrete and not cardboard :)
@@16demolka are interior walls also concrete in Europe? I hate American buildings for sure. but our house built in the 1940s is super amazing quality, so we got lucky, but I know of new builds in Utah that LITERALLY just fall over. it's insane
I love that shower tile!! It is gorgeous!!!
I don’t know if I’d consider your house a “fixer upper” before but I’m all for making a house a home
Same, a fixer upper to me would mean that things are broken and need fixing to live in

Agreed. I thought it was a nice, but slightly outdated home. That's not a fixer upper. That's a normal home.
I suppose they mean it’s a ‘fixer upper’ to them, but they should probably change their wording. 😅 it’s just an outdated (according to their taste) home they renovated.
The tile, paint color, curtain, and vanity are perfect! Love every detail!

Hello from North Shields!
Beautiful! I think I would paint the interior of the door yellow just to integrate everything but good job! 😊
OMG! We just finished our main bathroom as well and I had the same idea about the verses in the walls ❤❤❤❤
Probably my favourite makeover you've done so far! 👏
Oh my goodness!!! So much color for you Delilah!!! lol It all turned out stunning. Well worth the wait I’m sure.

Oh wow, I love it. You have definitely given me some ideas for when we renovate our bathroom. Beautiful. ❤
It turned out do nice. Everything just flows together. I can't wait to see what you do next😊❤🎉

I found curtains that look similar to your shower curtains and was like 😍😍
These are my favorite videos!!
Also when you first said yellow walls I thought to myself “absolutely hideous”, but not gonna lie they look beautiful!
yaaaaaayyy .....i was litterally rewatching some of your old videos today and now you uploaded 🥰🥰God bless

such a beautiful bathroom. Love it. Congratulations to the design. Must be delighting each day entering it. 🙂😍
I love this space! It’s so beautiful 😊

Looks sooo good! Maybe you said and I missed it but what was the stain color you used on the vanity?

Maybe more practical, but also more ugly! (In my opinion)
Two separate taps goes with the more vintage look I think.
Where as a single mixer is more modern.
especially for kids... I would have put something easy to use. And avoid kids getting burnt.
@@cecilemagnier7113 good point!

Wow! Beautiful!
Zach’s editing? The closeups during the shower curtain moment were 10/10
Weeee! So excited to finally see the reveal! 🥰
I LOVE it! Beautiful job ❤

After watching a few American renos I'm amazed you don't seem to do insulation in the walls.
We tend to do insulation in walls that touch the outside of the house, but not the inside walls.
@@sofapop653but it’s a bathroom wall so it should be insulated for sound proofing.
