A sub for something that you use for a week is kinda fucked up. He needs to have a patreon for ppl who want to support HIM and a store for ppl that want to support multiboard. Edit: a store for stl files instead of a sub for files
The whole point of a community is that everybody gets to participate in helping others answering questions and a live chat forum like discord is perfect for that, website forums are just stale and boring IMO, and most people use Reddit when they go for that format because everything they like or do is there so they don't have to go somewhere else to look up a question or ask a question they're already there and I think most people have a tab open for Reddit and discord set to open when their PC starts or even has it on their phone, most people don't want another app or website or forum to manage something that's only four that one thing............ You have to understand a community isn't all about you and you doing everything just like open source it's everyone combining their efforts and ideas to make the community and project better and stronger......... but this stream has answered a lot of my questions.
another suggestion: images to custom lits generation - make few pictures (12 should do it if it's not complicated part) on clear bg of item that you want to make a hole lid to make for - put few mesurments of the item - select "unit" of lid that you need - set mesh on lid - add fingertip holes - generate stl
i wish that I was the person that will program that but I think i have not that much time to do it 😅 and idk that i'm talented enough with 3d stuff programming
I couldn't be happier as a new 3d printer to have found Multiboard and moved in this direction. I dabbled in HSW and Gridfinity is really awesome but I think this will be great for the long haul. Thanks for all of your hard work.
The whole "Open Source" thing distracted from the original concept of FREEDOM. It was originally free as in freedom but not free as in beer. So, you could make money with it but the users weren't locked in. I don't prefer a subscription, I'd rather a one time fee for version X of something and then I could upgrade to a version Y if I decided to but I understand that people who create something useful should be paid for their work and time. It's your creation so it's your rules. Thanks for all the hard work!
suggestion to easy entry level manufacturing: maybe try cross with " slant 3d " mass production 3d printing? but to make it affordable it will need to be order in set's and stacks
I recently became a member supporting multiboard. I downloaded the tile generator. When I tried to make a stack of 9 x 9 tiles, Bambu Studio says there is an error with an "empty layer. The single 9 x 9 prints just fine. Where can I get an explanation?
Hi, i love multiboard in general but i really think that the stacked prints need to be free. If you want to use multiboard more than just a little bit here and there, you realise that the stacked prints are the only way to not spend ridiculous amounts of time starting new prints and removing old ones. Please please seriously think about opening the stack prints to everyone for free. There are so many parts that you can keep behind a paywall without hampering your free users. The way it is now, free users barely have a reason to use multiboard. The time it takes to print non-stacked tiles is just far too much and too labor intensive. It just plain sucks.
And if you really need the money.............. then at least let us pay 10-20$ ONE TIME for stacked prints. A subscription for something like this is honestly predatory. Who is going to remember to end this subscription? Once you setup your multiboard, you will forget that you ever had a subscription. It's predatory, get rid of it. In fact I bet you would make way more money with a store for stl files and a Patreon for those who want to support you as a person.
@lisandroCT even more of a reason to make it free. If it's that easy then it should be easy to make a tutorial. And if someone else makes a tutorial, then is he gonna strike it because technically, they are stealing? Just make it free..
@@og.StudMuffinhe can't strike it. If you make it yourself you can print a billion of them without paying anything. You just can't share that file with people. Just make one yourself in blender. And if you can't... Pay the monthly fee one time and then keep the file. I still have the stack printing file I only paid for one month.
@zennloo7343 these are just workarounds for something that should be free. If he wants people to use and enjoy multiboard as a "free" organization solution, then stacked prints should be included for the reasons I already stated. It feels like a barrier to actually being free. And keep in mind that "free" is his words. He calls it a "free all in one storage system".
don't mind a paywall, but hate subscriptions

37:15 "There isn't many ways of shortcutting things when it comes to a system that you're going to be relying on long term." Words to live by.
I sure wish people were selling the tiles and tile joiners! Then would only need to print the pieces I needed to use it

It's _really_ easy to create your own stack.
