This 15 min yoga for shoulder flexibility practice focuses on stretching out your shoulders and strengthening them as well! It's important for us to both lengthen and strengthen this joint to help combat stiffness, pain, and tension in the shoulders! This practice is suitable for all levels.     I’m really enjoying this challenge so far! I have practiced yoga for many years, so it’s particularly fun to do your unique combinations of poses. It seems every day you include something I haven’t tried before, which is a delightful surprise. Thank you!

    This was a great practice, Joelle. Not your typical ho-hum shoulder sequence-some really interesting ones in there that I hadn't done before! I also liked how you related the showing up mantra not just to physical presence but to being present mentally. Thank you!

    I’m really enjoying this morning challenge and this was perfect for me as I did a 35 minute weight training session yesterday that left me with tight shoulder muscles when I woke up today. Thanks again for all that you do!

    Loved this one! I have cranky shoulders and this felt so good! It popped up after another video, so I joined the 10 day challenge. I have questions about shoelace pose and sphinx pose. Did you do shoelace with upper body here and with lower body in another video? Can you put it into words for me? I think I understand sphinx pose, but not sure if I should be on my tummy, hips down on floor or what? Let me know if I should E-mail you with these kinds of questions! Thanks!

      Great questions Melissa! Yes, shoelace pose can be done with both the legs (also sometimes called cow face pose if you want to google it), as well as with the arms. I'm the first to admit the names can get a little confusing! As to sphinx pose, we want the front points of our hips to be resting down comfortably, and depending on the openness in the mid- and upper back, the tummy may be as well. You may like to experiment a little with bringing the elbows forwards and back, or by widening the legs, especially if you're feeling pressure in the lower back. I hope that helps! 😉
