    Wow, this really IS a miracle! The shoulder thing looks like it would exacerbate neck pain, if it did anything at all, but just from doing that, my neck pain had reduced about 30%! It relieved SO much tension! I'll definitely be coming back to this one whenever my neck gets tight again!

    I am experiencing some more painful than usual neck discomfort. Today, I visited my acupuncturist. After my treatment, she prescribed some gentle neck exercises. This video is exactly what she ordered. So comforting to know my practitioners are working in unison for my good. Namaste! 🙏🏾❤️

    Amazing! I had just closed my laptop after working on it for far too long. My neck was screaming. I picked up my phone to find a yoga video and this one had popped up on my alerts. It was perfect! My neck is much happier now.

    it's been so long since I've sat up straight! I haven't sat crosslegged in ages. In doing my first very partial catious replication of Joelle's, I found I was distracted by how hard it was to sit straight and it seemed an effort that was distracting me from the relaxation. Basically my low back is now cooperating.

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's terrific! And feel free to sit anywhere you like that's most comfortable for you - this one could work great in a chair or on a bed, too!

    This looks like a good video. My question and problem is I've been holding my neck rigidly for several days now and I'm afraid to turn left or right or look up or down. I don't know whether my fear of moving my neck is making it worse or whether I should not move it. My intuition says I should gently start doing what this video is teaching, but how do you reassure someone like me that it's okay?

    • @YogawithJoelle
      @YogawithJoelle  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope it can help you! With that said, if you're concerned about a potential injury or trauma, I hope you understand I can't responsibly guarantee anything for you, and especially over the internet, so you'd be best off speaking to a medical expert who can advise you more specifically. With that said, I'd ask yourself what you're truly afraid might happen by trying this? Most of this particular video involves moving the shoulder rather than the neck itself, so perhaps that can help you move past your fear?

    • @myplaylists3515
      @myplaylists3515 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YogawithJoelle Thanks Joelle for responding. I was given some gentle neck exercises a couple of weeks ago and I did them for a couple of days without any major problem, although I may have imagined that I got worse later on, so I stopped them. These involved things that your video also has, for example moving the head gently side to side, both in terms of tipping the head to one side than the other while looking straight, and also just looking to the left and into the right. And then looking up and then looking down. All three of these I'm paranoid about because my symptoms have been extreme muscle tightness in my upper rhomboids and trapezius that seemed to lock my neck in place so that I feel like my neck is moving all by itself and doesn't have the cooperation of the muscles below it. Also my neck of course is extremely forward and that causes me to think when I'm looking up I'm not really looking up from the bottom of my neck it's the top of my C1 vertebrae that's tilting back. This could be my imagination of course. I guess I could replicate your video just minimally and see how that goes for me, each step I would do only slightly. I do intuitively think that the fact that I've been holding my head rigidly for like 2 weeks now or more is causing a lot of my problem. Thanks again

    Joelle, it looks like you're sitting in a partial lotus. Even the partial lotus is a strain on me if I want to sit straight and the effort at maintaining kind of distracts. What's a good exercise/training just to be able to sit in your pose fairly comfortably for prolonged periods?
