    not that I would try this, but it's an awesome video. Now I know what the mechanic should do. :)

    Great Video, my 62k mile 04 XF has no heat on the drivers side. I will be performing this repair when the weather warms. BTW, the "E" in your E sockets does stand for external..... External Torx is the full name though.

    Great job Paul.
    I have watched all of your videos and learned so much from you I want to say Thank You !!
    I have a question about installing aftermarket heating elements It seems to me it would be easier to just buy the sheet type elements and just lay them over the old units . Also I wish there was a more detailed video of removing the seat cover on the back of seat.
    My seats seams have split and I need to have it resewn. My local upholstry guy wont touch the seats because they are so fragile like all Mercedes plastics , they just snap and break . I am having to do this myself Ughhh. I wish I knew someone closer to me who has experience with these cars. I am on my own with this cool car which no one wants to touch it in Maryland zip 21001. I have repaired so many things on this cool car my own. but would like a detailed back of seat dismantling . : )

      @@CrossfireRepairsByPaul Hi Paul I wish you had done a more detailed video on the removal of the drivers side seat back cover . My seat cover has split at the seam near the head rest the material used in these seats seem to be vinyl with cloth backing not leather .

    Hi Paul, thank you for your hard work. I did the repair as you suggested and tested with voltmeter as you did. The seat seems to be repaired, but when I put it back into the car it still will not work. Any idea why it still isn't working?

      I also checked the fuses; 1 & 24 in the underhood accessory fuse block and they are fine.

    Hi Paul,
    Do you know how to fix a XF heater fan switch or where to find replacement?
    Thanks Larry

    Paul how can I lower my original drivers seat in my 2004 Crossfire so I can fit better? I'm 6'1" and need a seat lowering kit. Thank you !

    Wouldn't you first check to see if you have power to the switch on the upper part of the shifter counsel, then check the switch it self. Then the wiring to the seat, then if all that tests good you would go to looking at the seat. yes?

    • @CrossfireRepairsByPaul
      @CrossfireRepairsByPaul  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that was already done and as you can see in the video, the filaments were indeed broken. when people outside the car need something from the center console they will lean in and put their hands right on the bottom seat which stretches out the fillaments to the point of breaking.

    Hey Paul,
    Great video, I recently bought a 2004 Crossfire, but my seat cover is detached in the front. Any chance you know what part number those clips/hooks have?, so i can purchase some new clips to attach the cover.

      hello Wes, sorry I do not know that part number, what I would suggest is to call a car junk yard and see if they have any Crossfires there

    Hi Paul... I recently bought a 2004 crossfire and when of the major problem i have with it is that the electric seats don't work at all except for the heater function... I can't adjust the seat at all, I was wondering if you know of a way to fix this.
    Please help. Nice video

      Hello Dei, check you fuses and then if they are good then next is to replace the "seat relay" located under the steering wheel. The part number to be replaced is: MB #002 542 22 19 and can be bought using this part number on Ebay

    What seemed to be the problem? Was the light on the heated seats switch flashing?

    Hi Paul. Do you by chance have any knowledge in regards to Mercedes - Benz suspension? There's a sound coming from the driver rear wheel. It sounds like a bed mattress when the car is in motion. I'm trying to figure out rather its shocks, struts, sway bar or control arm making that noise on my Crossfire.

    • @CrossfireRepairsByPaul
      @CrossfireRepairsByPaul  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kahri Rhodes you have to zero in to that sound, lift car and with a pry bar start to move your suspension until you can recreate the sound, check all connection points as well.

    Having trouble removing passenger seat, won’t move forward enough to clear the bolts, It’s not electric seats/manual.
