Yes it will be an improvement for me, but it's just not something that improves the rating, unless it's up against a figure with comparable issues that CAN'T be fixed.
I feel like Blitzwing isn’t an appropriate name for this guy, considering that the name is linked to a very distinct, non-Seeker character. Ramjet suits him better imo.
actually there is a way to disarm a transformer with an arm gun, an inhibitor claw they were used all the time in idw and force weapons systems offline so it would be a perfect fix for that tension issue
Kind of, that requires people to carry them around all the time, when that's just extra gear when you are in a fight that's extraneous. Much easier to slap the gun out of someones hand than it is to basically cuff them.
So, from what I've heard, the jet mode was compromised for the sake of the robot mode. I also feel that your problems with the nosecone and the chest might be qc issues, as mine doesn't seem to have those issues Also, why don't you hinge the wing tips up?
I think it looks cooler with them flat like that, and it may be QC, but it seems to have been a fairly wide spread issue, as several people told me that they had the exact same experience.
Jest modes isn’t bad, just inaccurate, though I’m a sucker for seekers that are different and unique jets instead of just being another f-15(I think that’s what it’s called
I know How to fix the shoulder problem, the problem is the tabs, they are too small and you can fix them by tightening them up with glue/floor polish and the same can be said for the loos wings
@@PerspectiveEnd it ruined ss optimus for me as it is not the right truck the lazy eyebrow explained it better it was why I went for earthrise optimus prime instead, anyways cheers for the reply definitely a goto for the transformers reviews.
Thank you. It's no problem, I try to respond to all comments as long as youtube is willing to tell me about them. The Studio Serries Bumblebee Optimus... I mean it was in the movie for like 2 seconds, I wouldn't think it would be around long enough to care what the exact altmode looked like. And before anyone says anything, no what I complained about is different, the difference between the two planes is like the Difference between a Corvette and a Polaris Slingshot. Not the difference between a truck and another similar truck.
I have the complete opposite opinion to you, the weapons transforming out of their body is great, because of course machines would have weapons built into them. They're Transformers, the main gimmick of the toyline is that their body parts shift around to form different things, so of course the weapons would transform out of their body parts as well. But i dislike them just having rifles, built in, or handheld. They're just unpainted pieces of plastic. I miss Animated, where everyone had special abilities and weapons tailored to who they are as characters. The big bruiser Bulkhead had a wrecking ball, BumbleBEE had stinger weapons, the destructive bomber Lugnut had an atomic fist punch. Good times.
See I don't like the concept that they can turn into just what ever, because then there's no such thing as a triple changer and it doesn't make sense why they all don't just chose to be what ever vehicle suits them best at the time, most of which would be some kind of aerial vehicle. And their bodies turning into weapons just closes too many doors. Hacking off their limbs to get rid of their weapons is the only smart thing to do, but then there is no way that character could ever save them selves. And how do you keep track of ammo. How does one run out of munitions. How does one drop their gun, or get caught undefended. No I hate it. It only makes sense when you squint. Just because their bodies can turn into a predetermined shape, does not make them John Carpenters the Thing able to remold them selves into what ever they please.
@@PerspectiveEnd I didn't mean it like they can turn their arms into whatever weapon they please, I meant it like in Animated, where they are upgrades that need to be built, and then attached to the body as a feature, and can be taken away. There are still limitations to what they can change into for sure. For example, a tiny bot like Bumblebee wouldn't be able to reconfigure himself to Transform into a jet carrier... I hate mass-shifting. Transformormations should be 100% feasible in real life, limited by real life mass, with maybe some cheating for the sake of making the robot look nicer, like in Animated, where their bumpers compacted to an impossible degree. If I wrote transformers, their form would be limited by their mass. You could just give a bot wings, but you can't teach them to fly. I like how in Rescue Bots Blades was anxious about flying, because his original alt mode was a car. I feel like whatever they can turn into is limited by their knowledge, and what they feel comfortable in. And how do their weapons being built in change their ammo situation in any way? Also, keep talking, you're just giving me ideas with that John Carpenter thing.
That would be better than Mandatory dismemberment. See I actually like Mass Shifting. They have all kinds of crazy tech, so an in built shrink ray or something makes perfect sense, and it gives specific characters more versatility. Like normally I won't say you are wrong for what you like, but if you want Soundwave to be anything other than a Tape Recorder you are Wrong. (Unless you know they aren't on Earth, like what use would that be in space.) The way Ammo Changes is that you can have a number of Magazines on you, and you can run out. Built in and it never is an issue. Normally ammo isn't a big issue in TF but some times it is, but it's never one when it's built in. I mean do I need to talk more, the Rom Space Knight, Vs, the Transformers comic basically covered what happens if a Cybertronian is infected by The Thing.
Not picked that one up. Might be fine, I hear that the Cliffjumper from Studio Serries is just that figure but inverted. In that case, it'd be a chaotic Transformation, with an over all decent robot, and alt mode. My studio Serries Figure are as Follows: Jet Shatter Car and Helicopter Dropkick Jet Blitzwing Nitro Zeus And Cliffjumper.
So far through out transformers history of the franchise, cliff jumper only died twice. Once in prime and the other being the bumblebee movie. My brother and I agree (for once) that cliff jumper has had the fewest character deaths in the history of the franchise.
First of all the opening hand is so it can grab Studio series Jeep bumblebees neck like in the movie second of all if you want fix the chess problem try the super glue trick with the wing tabs ( you should look up how to do it before you try)
Thickening those tabs might work, but I don't know the amount of force needed to move his arms is actually kind of immense, and so I think even if they were tighter they'd still fail. Probably less easily but still. As for the hand I suppose that makes sense, I just wonder why they didn't make both capable of it.
It's weird that there were two of you who basically asked me this exact same question within 5 minutes of each other, on two different videos. We will find out soon.
to be honest with myself i like the old design better on starscream (Blitzwing) because i grew up watching the Bay films and i have nostalgia towards those movies also animated, but this new design doesn't look bad in my opinion i like the design i know it's a bit closer to G1 but that is just you and not me, we have our own opinions on transformers
Well I mean the Animated Starscream look is way more similar to this. I get that a lot of people grew up with the movies, but I would like to point out that Starscream and most of the Transformers are barely in the movies. If you combine EVERY shot of Starscream from all three of the movies he was in, he has 11 Minutes and 27 seconds of screen time. I just looked it up, and thats what he gets in THREE Multi Hour movies. I swear Starscream had more than that in the First 2 episodes of the show. And that's my real issue. He BARELY exists in the movies but some people want to treat him as the definitive version.
Yeah, I mean the jetmode is ugly and wrong, but I find the arm to be more frustrating, because it ruining what would other wise be his redeeming feature.
The jet mode was probably changed due to licensing issues, seeing that this figure came out 2 years after the movie, so the toy designers had ample time after that to make him as screen-accurate as possible. So a possible reason they changed his jet mode was simply due to the company that produced the F-4 Phantom not letting Hasbro use the licensing for the jet
Over all, solid review, ( and the whole thing with killing of clifjumper just to make some easy tenction, yea, it bouth stupid and weak at this point) And here is my nick pick with " hand guns are stupid" .I can agree with " how yougoing to dissarm him if his whole hand is a gun?" thinhg, because usually they don t explain it or bother to think abouted. But on the other hand from a transformer pespective if he can transform in a car,jet .etc, and he can partly transform to some degree ( stealth force or just scenes where bumbelbee uses his hand in car mode), them why bother with a weapon that : 1 Need to be carry arounde one way or enouther, and battel field any advantage is needed, more mobility, and regular gun would slow you, not to the point of been a walking target, but it slows you non the less 2 you can lost the weapon, or just get dissarmed Not saying you wrong for dissliking build in guns, but there is a reason they exist.Just saying....And it is just my opinion.
Well one I think it's dumb when a Cybertronain can change their bodies on the fly, if they can do that why aren't they all Infinity Changers all the time. Oh I'm a motorcycle, na I want to be a Vtol now. Two it closes too many doors, think about the scene in a movie where someone drops their gun and they and the bad guy go running after it, and there a lot of tension over who's going to get it. Can't do that and a million other things, if the guns are just appended to their arms. And if the guns part of their body how powerful is the gun. Is Optimus's gun more powerful than Arcee's because it's bigger, Is it more powerful because he's a bigger bot, is it actually not more powerful?
I hate this thing because of 2 reasons (now 3) people keep giving this figure a high mark because its accurate in robot mode to the movie even though its backwings are awful and the leg has no bellbottom thruster thighs. The jet mode he has in film is an f-4 phanthom which is my favorite aircraft so when this figure was revealed, i immediatley hated it for its lackluster and innacurate jet mode. Newly added point: As youve pointed out the solidity of the figure is straight up awful.
I'm glad that I was able to be the voice of what you were thinking, cause yeah he's not all that movie accurate in both modes, plane mode WAY less than the other.
They really should have given him a generic name or niche character name like RedWing. Appending a name to someone who doesn't look like the character they're based on is a movie staple, I get that, but Blitzwing is one of the main Decepticon cast members. The wildly off jet mode is what kept me from buying this guy. I've heard they didn't style it after the Phantom F-4 from the movie because of rights issues. I think that's a load of bunk but that's the excuse I heard. I know this guy got a ton of 3P figures. If there's one that's voyager sized and has an accurate F-4 mode, I would be interested.
The main reason was 1: Copyright 2: It'd be almost impossible with the budget. Honestly, if the robot mode is not interfered (which thankfully it isn't),it's good by me. I'm one of those people that will display him in robot mode almost at all times, so I'm fine with the inaccurate jet mode.
@@PerspectiveEnd I mean, same, but he is clearly one of those figures that focuses more on robot than vehicle, which is the case with most figures of course.
Is it funny that blitzwing has the same problem as the generations arm problems but that was better that this but thats my only complain the rest is fine
Ok I will agree with the chest thing but everything else I heavily disgree. Altmode I don't mind at all i don't get why people shit on the altmode so much. It's inaccurate, so fucking what? And the weapons...really? Like yeah i am a bit disappointed about the voice remover being more of a numb than the actually spike but i can understand why because if it was like the movie it would have broke. Also speaking of the voice remover...what everything you just said was wrong. it isn't a MELEE weapon, it is a voice remover. It meant to remove voice boxes for, what i can tell, TORTURE. Like he wasn't swinging it around in the movie. And to say that memorable moment of bee losing his voice in the movie is ruins because of voice remover is flat out stupid.. Also the whole weapon arm thing is perfectly fine😒like how are they lame? Their fucking robots. And to say autobots can't disarm them is horse shit. Because they can either slimply just 1.break or rip their arms. 2. Shoot their arms. and 3. CUT FUCKING. ARM. OFF. It's that fucking simple. So saying that autobots can't disarm tranformers with hand guns is a flat out lie as well. And to say they are ugly is stupid. They are still awesome and cool. Look at shockwave! He has a arm gun and people love him. Yeah he doesn't transform it but it is still a hand gun so that makes him laaaame. Transformers prime they had hand guns and people never complained. In general no one complains about hand guns because their alien robots. They can do whatever the fuck they want. Plus optimus prime pretty much proves you can disarm a hand gun transformer in revenge of the fallen (r.i.p megatron's face.) Also I found around the reason why blizwings right handnis poseable about he can grab the army jeep version of bee so you can recreate the voice box scene.
If we don't care about extreme inaccuracy then why have the weapons or anything at all. I wanted the character from the movie I got Half of him. I undertand that the nub could have broken, and would have been dangerous to young people if it were longer and pointier, but that doesn't make it good. Also no that's not a Voice remover, that's a melee weapon, I don't know why you've decided to look at it an exclusive way like that? There is nothing in the movie to support that idea, other than that's what it got used for in one scene, it's not like the Decepticons are famous for making it so their prisoners cant talk, that's just a Bumblebee thing. So that was just conjecture you thought up. As for the Hand guns thing. They NEVER do that. They never cut off the arms of the Autobots to deprive them of their weapons. Sure that could happen, but it never does, instead they are just always made to obey orders at gun point on the honor system. With normal guns they can just drop it and maybe recover it, or steal one from an enemy. If your arms have been hacked off, how are you going to pic up someone else's gun? Yeah shockwave has a gun for an arm, it makes him Special, Why would a scientist chose to have a gun for a hand 100% of the time if he could chose to have a normal hand by transforming it. Everyone hates it when Optimus rips off faces. Since when is he hero a slasher villain who mutilates his enemies out of pure sadism?
@@stevenCG2005 Yeah, except he's like worse than an Antihero, he's a borderline serial killer. Megtron offered him peace, and he brutally murdered him. How are you going to get the Decepticon army to stand down if you kill the one guy who could have ordered them to.
some of your complaints are totally valid. But idk if its just the speed of your voice, but a lot of your complaints sound really superfluous and butchy. I might've given you a pass, but idk something about the way you sound when you complain is really annoying.
Sorry to hear that, you can slow me down to .75% speed, alot of people do that, and I've tried it. It sounds fine almost no distortion, but there's no guarntee that will fix your issues with my voice. If you give me a second chance don't watch my original video on Earthrise, that was absolutely me being whiny and bitchy.

Yes it will be an improvement for me, but it's just not something that improves the rating, unless it's up against a figure with comparable issues that CAN'T be fixed.
@@PerspectiveEnd Ok then
I don’t care if it’s supposed to be Blitzwing. To me that is always starscream. Especially with the toys jet mode.
I get it, but if it is Starscream then he's dead.
@@PerspectiveEnd thats starscream alright. “MEGATRON SHOW MERCY”
Strong shapes and distinct colors: The foundation of Transformer design and the breakout hit of the Bumblebee movie.
I got nothing to add to that.
Didn't expect for you to do a bonus review on Bumblebee movie CJ. But I wasn't expecting to expec something so it doesn't count.
No it counts I got you.
frick
I feel like Blitzwing isn’t an appropriate name for this guy, considering that the name is linked to a very distinct, non-Seeker character. Ramjet suits him better imo.
Oh for sure it's not, I don't know why they picked it as it can't be for Copyright, but they clearly were trying to do some weird thing.
For the jet mode, hasbro themselves said they made it like that to have a better toy
I mean, that may be, but it's a worse representation of the character for it, and it still ended up incredibly flawed.
@@PerspectiveEnd oh I definitely agree he's still flawed, just putting the reason for that particular issue out there
actually there is a way to disarm a transformer with an arm gun, an inhibitor claw
they were used all the time in idw and force weapons systems offline so it would be a perfect fix for that tension issue
Kind of, that requires people to carry them around all the time, when that's just extra gear when you are in a fight that's extraneous.
Much easier to slap the gun out of someones hand than it is to basically cuff them.
@@PerspectiveEnd true but it could be adapted into a smaller, more space efficient model like a patch or even have it built into their weapons
oohhh i see you did review the cliff version
Yes. Same figure, different head, different colors.
So, from what I've heard, the jet mode was compromised for the sake of the robot mode. I also feel that your problems with the nosecone and the chest might be qc issues, as mine doesn't seem to have those issues
Also, why don't you hinge the wing tips up?
I think it looks cooler with them flat like that, and it may be QC, but it seems to have been a fairly wide spread issue, as several people told me that they had the exact same experience.
@@PerspectiveEnd Hmm, you may be right. It's been a hot minute since I've handled mine
Jest modes isn’t bad, just inaccurate, though I’m a sucker for seekers that are different and unique jets instead of just being another f-15(I think that’s what it’s called
Ehh, the back is a little bad it just kind of turns into a mess back there with the dual fin.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, I can agree with that
4:24 it happened
I knew it would, it had to happen at some point.
I know How to fix the shoulder problem, the problem is the tabs, they are too small and you can fix them by tightening them up with glue/floor polish and the same can be said for the loos wings
I suppose I can give that a try, got nothing really to loose by trying it.
Perfect just perfect
The video? The Figure?
The video
Fun fact cliffjumper is a worst retool of offroad bumblebee which i heard is one of the best studio series figures
I have heard that before.
@@PerspectiveEnd ok
A lot of those SS figures are based on concept art it's why bumblebee has door wings and I'm guessing it's the same here
Could be, I knew that, but I didn't think about it, so you may be right on that front.
@@PerspectiveEnd I have got a question would you ever review the g1 originals? I imagine it would be funny as g1 is one big mixed bag of all sorts
@@strangeyk1890 I don't have a ton of G1 figures left from my child hood. I'd be open to it, but I don't have much opportunity.
Hmm. The ironies part would be wrong as he has the bulk tank amd cannons.
And instead of blitzwing this should. Be called Direstreak
Does he keep dying in stuff. That's still kind of a cool name.
Hehe. Well there are seeker drones that die and look like him.
And thanks. I just thought of it on the top of my head
(Unless you know they aren't on Earth, like what use would that be in space.)
The way Ammo Changes is that you can have a number of Magazines on you, and you can run out.
Ok so randomly wondering what is your opinion on the studio series jeep bumblebee
Not picked that one up. Might be fine, I hear that the Cliffjumper from Studio Serries is just that figure but inverted.
In that case, it'd be a chaotic Transformation, with an over all decent robot, and alt mode.
My studio Serries Figure are as Follows:
Jet Shatter
Car and Helicopter Dropkick
Jet Blitzwing
Nitro Zeus
And Cliffjumper.
Oh and Movie Prime. Forgot that one some how...
Honestly the transformation isn’t that chaotic because there are a lot less kibbly parts
So far through out transformers history of the franchise, cliff jumper only died twice. Once in prime and the other being the bumblebee movie. My brother and I agree (for once) that cliff jumper has had the fewest character deaths in the history of the franchise.
What about Arcee? She only died in the second live action movie?
@@PerspectiveEnd true.
@@PerspectiveEnd probably cuz in the movie he only uses that hand to choke Bumblebee and while I do like handguns the hand sword just looks weird
@@MaskedPerfomer Yeah I don't like hand guns they are goofy.
so do you think that the studio series starscream any better
It's weird that there were two of you who basically asked me this exact same question within 5 minutes of each other, on two different videos.
We will find out soon.
@@PerspectiveEnd are you teasing a review????
to be honest with myself i like the old design better on starscream (Blitzwing) because i grew up watching the Bay films and i have nostalgia towards those movies also animated,
but this new design doesn't look bad in my opinion i like the design i know it's a bit closer to G1 but that is just you and not me, we have our own opinions on transformers
I feel like the back unclipping is a you problem since in other reviews for this guy they don’t have problems with the back
I've seen plenty of people say they have the same problem, but it definitely appears to be a QC issue, so some people will suffer it and others wont.
At least his chest doesn’t foax form?
I mean it kind of does a little.
Legacy Blitzwing if he was good
Fair.
honestly the most disappointing about this thing is the Jet mode but other than that figure is alright
My studio series blitz wings wings don’t fall off
Maybe it's just a QC thing then, but I can only review the thing I have, it's nice to hear that it's not a universal problem though.
Over all, solid review, ( and the whole thing with killing of clifjumper just to make some easy tenction, yea, it bouth stupid and weak at this point)
And here is my nick pick with " hand guns are stupid" .I can agree with " how yougoing to dissarm him if his whole hand is a gun?" thinhg, because usually they don t explain it or bother to think abouted. But on the other hand from a transformer pespective if he can transform in a car,jet .etc, and he can partly transform to some degree ( stealth force or just scenes where bumbelbee uses his hand in car mode), them why bother with a weapon that :
1 Need to be carry arounde one way or enouther, and battel field any advantage is needed, more mobility, and regular gun would slow you, not to the point of been a walking target, but it slows you non the less
2 you can lost the weapon, or just get dissarmed
Not saying you wrong for dissliking build in guns, but there is a reason they exist.Just saying....And it is just my opinion.
Is Optimus's gun more powerful than Arcee's because it's bigger, Is it more powerful because he's a bigger bot, is it actually not more powerful?
nice vid
I hate this thing because of 2 reasons (now 3)
people keep giving this figure a high mark because its accurate in robot mode to the movie even though its backwings are awful and the leg has no bellbottom thruster thighs.
Here lies the origin of the neon purple background in the thumbnails
Yep. That was something even I forgot for a while.
Yeah, jet mode is kinda ass. Guess hasbro couldn't get the license for an F-4 Phantom?
Maybe? That's an explanation I hadn't thought of.
The main reason was
1: Copyright
2: It'd be almost impossible with the budget.
Honestly, if the robot mode is not interfered (which thankfully it isn't),it's good by me. I'm one of those people that will display him in robot mode almost at all times, so I'm fine with the inaccurate jet mode.
@@chadderbug7587 For me altmode is 1/3rd the figure, so getting it so completely wrong is not something I can just ignore.
@@PerspectiveEnd I mean, same, but he is clearly one of those figures that focuses more on robot than vehicle, which is the case with most figures of course.
Is it funny that blitzwing has the same problem as the generations arm problems but that was better that this but thats my only complain the rest is fine
The rest is pretty good, I mean the plane mode is wrong, but that's not the end of the world. It's just the backpack is so Frustraiting.
This one was ok
I could have done better here.
Because they can either slimply just
1.break or rip their arms.
Plus optimus prime pretty much proves you can disarm a hand gun transformer in revenge of the fallen (r.i.p megatron's face.)
Also I found around the reason why blizwings right handnis poseable about he can grab the army jeep version of bee so you can recreate the voice box scene.
@@PerspectiveEnd in my humble opinion I like to think that the movie optimus prime is more of a antihero
