For longest time, I never understood why so many loved this mold. That is, until about two weeks ago I picked up Shattered Glass Starscream on a whim. And now I understand. I love how poseable it is, and while on my copy the transformation is a little finnicky, the alt mode pops. I have the seige Jetfire, and since Shattered Glass Starscream is based on Jetfire's livery, I pose them together. Jetfire and his #1 fan.
Well… That was an impossibly easy mystery you solved there, Sherlock. Of course you aren’t going to understand the hype of something if you’ve never had it in hand before very recently. So happy for you that so many brave souls had to risk financial ruin to buy nearly a dozen versions of the mold in order to afford you the opportunity to experience the mold firsthand way later than should have been necessary…
@@mew1529 Maybe if you laid off the tobacco and weed, your figure wouldn’t have yellowed. Mine is still pristine white, which must obviously be the work of strong magic after selling my soul to Satan…
@@mew1529 that only happens when the figure is kept in bad conditions, or constantly close to a bright light bulb. Certain parts of my Earthrise Megatron and Soundwave yellowed because I left them too close to a light for too long. Try to keep white/grey plastic figures in places not directly exposed to bright lights.
2:50 if I were to say why this figure Looks more proportionate than ER prime I think its cause the red hips blend into the chest making it appear like there is less leg. While ER prime's grey hips only add to the apparent length. Color breaking is a powerful tool
if you ever really want to finish the trio one day, you could always use Hotlink as a substitute for Skywarp. he looks similar enough and sells for a much cheaper price on the aftermarket.
Siege Starscream and SSS Grimlock are my favorite figures of all time. Every single time I pick those 2 up, I remember just why I love collecting and animating. My bro also owns Siege Skywarp, and the 3 Tetrajets look spectacular together.
Honestly surprised more videos on this guy don't talk about how the null rays don't need to partsform, when I realised that I was floored. Got this guy and the earthrise basically back to back and I am glad I got ER first because otherwise I'd be so let down.
Did you know starscream became an almost cult leader in cyberverse. Where he thinks the primes chose him to return everyone to the allspark and brainwashed half the seeker army into having complete loyalty to him. And he thinks scraplets are his kids
I was lucky enough to get siege skywarp, and having all 3 of them together on a shelf is amazing. Even better when Starscream and Thundercracker are holding their accessories from the centurion pack!
Figures like this and Siege Optimus helped resurrect my love for collecting TF toys. The Prime Wars trilogy was really hit or miss for me, and I was just about done collecting outside of vintage figures. Then Siege came in and I had to get just about every figure that was available. I have at least six versions of this mold in particular (the original Seeker trio and Rainmakers). My wallet hasn’t cried this much since Transformers Animated was still on air.
I agree with you. I stopped collecting TFs after Armada. Then one day I saw a review for Seige figures on my feed, and I've been collecting just about all the WFC Trilogy figures ever since. The bulk of my credit cards purchases are mainly on TFs, especially now that I've been collecting NewAge.
It was coming across this vid that made me finally want a version of this mold and I thankfully got a Thundercracker with the head already swapped! And I LOVE HIM, like, yeah, this is one of the best molds Siege had.
without a doubt one of my favorite Generations figures ever the presence, the articulation, the strength of the materials, the accuracy is just *chef kiss*
This mold is probably the best in my collection. I have the sparkless seeker, and I absolutely love it! I also love how the wings look like the decepticons symbol.
It baffles me how a lot of collectors got this mold but when not the earthrise figure came out, everyone flocked to that one despite being inferior compared to this one. I don't care too much for one to one accuracy all the time for certain characters but this was still a really great figure, wish I got tc though, only have sc and the purple one who isnt skywarp (forgot his name sorry)
@@ignite5329That’s exactly what I’m saying, the seekers are meant to be aerial troopers, no troopers who can fly. They should be more slender and agile feeling than soundwave and megatron. Siege gets that, and Earthrise doesn’t.
One of my favorites out the entirety of WfC. Love the crazy posability, proportions, details, those spring-loaded calves, and that it has an actual complete looking upper torso instead of the ER one's weird, gappy-boxxy bod. Maybe the ER Seeker mold has the more enjoyable transformation, but at the same time the elbows are almost always a glitch to transform on it. Really dig the spacejet mode too despite all the undercarriage. It might not be super toon accurate, but I like how it looks like a love child of a tetrajet and an X-wing. Seriously though, I love posing Siegescream. The fact he can both cross his arms and do the slav squat like a boss never ceases to put smile on my face.
You just don't see Spring Loaded stuff any more on Chug Figures. I do not think the ER one has the better transformation. There is too much of that thing that doesn't work as intended.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'd say to me it's a tossup whether I like the Siege one'stransformation or ER's more, though at the same time I've never had a problem with Siegescream's shellforming. Just like you said, there's just enough actual transformation happening where the figure doesn't justfeel like a glorified Matryoshka doll. As for the ER seekers, I'm perfectly content with just owning the gen. selects Ramject for its funky G2 colors. On the bright side, there's no way this will be the last Earth mode G1 seekermold we'll ever get, so there's always next time.
See here's the think, I don't know if this really fills that gap. It's a good space mode for Starscream, but it's not great as a Representation of the Tetrajet.
I actually liked a lot of the Prime Wars Trillogy. The Skylynx was great, Titans Return had a lot of really good figures. I LOVE the PotP Optimus Prime.
Coming back to say: I just got the PF version and it is literally so good. The tolerances are perfect, and the colors are soooo nice. Like you really have to see it in hand to see just how good he looks and feels. Definitely the definitive chug Starscream
This is the only mould I’ve ever owned over 5 of (9 total), a figure has to be killer to make me do that, it can’t just be a seeker (0 versions of ER). My gawd does the battle damage look amazing on him, will never understand the hate for it. I kept the regular head because this to me is a younger starscream in his warrior days. And can I just say the tetra jet redesign is stellar, this looks like a true attack jet instead of a floating triangle like the G1 version. Sure it has a kibble bottom, but nobody is allowed to say the ER cleans up better, it does not
To be fair at one point I did own 5 of it, and I don't know that I can say that for anything ese except for say Masterpiece Bumblebees because everything ever is base4d on him.
So, I do have Red Wing, Hotlink, Sparkless Seeker, and, at the time of writing this comment, the Rainmaker 3-pack should be on the way. (And given I don't have Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp (well, I actually do, but only their Studio Series figures, no Skywarp included there.), Red Wing, Ion Storm, and Hotlink CAN work in place of those three.) There's a panel that connects to the head in vehicle mode that fills the gap in robot mode while you can have the thrusters on the back. (Or still in their original spot, as seen out of the box.) And I'm one of the few souls that doesn't mind the battle damage on these figures. (I think you'd tolerate the light piping if the color for the piping were lighter, like orange.) I don't mind the chest not pinned, because at least you CAN put it back on the figure.
A few people have asked me to do that yes. And I can't believe I never realized that's what that panel was for. I mean it takes away the upwards range on the head, so I still wouldn't use it but man it shocks me I didn't figure that out.
I was never able to find the main trio in this mold, but I did find the Rainmaker 3-pack at my local Target. I picked it up only because it was 3 voyagers for the price of two and I don't have any regrets. Edit: My fave looking one from the 3-pack is Ion Storm so I used to display it in vehicle mode on a spare figma stand I had laying around. That is until I accidentally bumped my shelf a few months ago and caused him to fall off my shelf and in the process the stand arm broke at the base.
I had that set, but I couldn't justify keeping it around when it was so expensive and they were so boring looking. If you like them more then I did I'm glad.
It's also interesting how, as well as shell forming, it technically faux forms in the chest, and parts-forms with the nullrays. So it does all 3 of the cardinal TF Sins, but it uses all three of those techniques exactly how they should be used.
Just so you know if you didn’t already, the grey plate on the back of his head is supposed to be a gap filler for robot mode. There are notches on the side of the plate that slide into some grooves on the shoulder pylons.
@@PerspectiveEndThe one that attaches to his head for jet mode and that you have tucked away into the chest on the back. You can hinge it up and it will rest in the notches in the faux intakes
Besides the flaw of the chest popping off till it was fixed in later releases. And I wish hasbro giving him a smirking face expression instead of it being for Siege Thundercracker. I swear why they did that, is beyond me. Siege Starscream has a cool cybertronian design. His robot mode is great, very poseable. But his tetrajet alt mode just looks awesome. Sure, it's not the flying pyramid design from the G1 cartoon, but looks almost Star Wars like. Like how the robot folds in for tetrajet flight. -Thundercracker on the other hand, looks great too. Really liking the bright blue color looks in both modes. And Skywarp-.... Oh right. He was a hard to get exclusive. Damn it. -I personally had a Siege Starscream, but sold it when the Earthrise version came out. Same for my Siege Thundercracker. And luckily I eventually got the Earthrise Thundercracker and Skywarp. But it mainly came down to who wears the tetrajet alt mode better. Between Starscream or the Generations Selects Red Wing. And Red Wing won. As he has that Armada Starscream vibe.
Hey perspective, I've really gotta thank you for recommending siege prime. Comparing him to earthrise prime is like comparing a wooden knife to a light saber.
I had bought a seige starscream a few days ago just because of how many reviews I saw said how its amazing and one of the best starscreams to ever come out. After a few days of having it I decided to transformer it and the hinge holding the backpack to the figure snapped so now it is forever stuck in its robot mode.
I'm so sorry to hear that. That sucks! I've never heard of anyone having that problem before? Did you buy it second hand or something? Did maybe the original owner break it and then repair it and sell it?
When you talk about light piping I try to think of ways it could be done better, and I think I realized it. The Classics Prime I have is a reissue from around the time Age of Extinction came out with G1 toy colors, therefore he's got the yellow eyes. However, the lightpiping was still a light clear blue with thin yellow painted over the eyes. You can still see his eyes normally, and it works well when you cram a flashlight in his head. Otherwise uh..I dunno use a really rich color for the plastic like Kingdom Waspinator that's very visible no matter what.
Thank you thank you thank you. The bar was set so high with this when it was first released. I was so impressed with the possibility of this thing and articulation that I thought it was going to be this way through the rest of the line. Once again couldn't have said this better myself
I bought this figure to spite the Eatthrise version. Also because I've never had a G1 Starscream. Plus he'll look good next to the other big 3 Cons, who are also Siege versions.
The only flaw I have with this figure is that the chest panel damages the tabs on the wings leaving stress marks. Which could lead to the tabs breaking off of the wings. It’s the reason why I had to return this figure 6 times and then just gave up. Which sucks because I love the articulation on the figure, along with how simple and quick the transformation is.
I personally have a love for this mold, probably because I have three of it and Starscream specifically was the first figure I ever bought stickers for. When people said the earthrise was better, I thought they were crazy
I remember getting this figure when the earthrise when it was announced. And now that I have them both I can’t believe that I thought I needed the earthrise. This figure is too good!
This is, in my opinion, one of the best WFC figures of all time, and is why, in my opinion, the ER Starscream fails so hard. This one just has so much personality. The posability, the silhouette, even something as simple as how the wings move all work in tandem to give this figure an incredible amount of personality that the ER one just doesn't have. I recently picked up the SG Starscream, and I was blown away how, in spite of me already having 4 versions of the mold and it being now a three year old figure, I still could have a tonne of fun with it
You and me seem to be on the exact same page when it comes to this. This is absolutely one of the best of the Trilogy and ERscream Pales in comparison.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'd really like to get my hands on Coronation Scream, just to see if his armour and cape fit onto the Siege one (If not, hey, I get a coronation Scream plus a cool throne)
I’m gonna base the seekers cybertronion alt modes off this, I was gonna give them split nosecones but that’s cursed annotomy and I’m trying to make my characters not have that
I didn't realize this video came out today, I just got this guy and a GameStop about a month ago, and I'm ready happy with him. Mostly. The null rays never stayed in, and the chest is awful, but that's nothing new as far as this mold goes. I actually had this figure taken apart before, the jet mode and the robot completely separate
I'm a little confused by that first bit. I mean you watched it today, so you did realize it came out today? Yeah if you just drive out 1 pin you can separate these two, it looks a little plain without the backpack. That was not a pun.
@@PerspectiveEnd sorry about that first part, I was watching your older videos and this one popped up and I thought it was an older one I had missed. And you don't even need to drive a pin out to remove the backpack, there's a part that can just unclip with a little bit of force. Although yeah, it definitely looks a lot better attached
Actually there is a way to cover the gap with the thruster put where it's supposed to go, you take the plate that tabs I to the back of the head and put it in between the shoulder intakes which locks it and the platform the head is on in place and fills the gap in
As many times as this mold has been reused, I was really expecting the Coneheads from this mold but alas, I have to turn to other means to get siege Coneheads
the netflix hotlink and sparkless seekers are great too as they are the improved verion of the mold with 2 battle masters and some blast effects that can be used on them
I really dig this figure, of the few Siege figures I've purchased he's definitely one of the best and just does everything with ease. Also I think most people wanted a review of this lad was due to your known distaste for the Earthrise figure and your brief mention of this figure during the Siege video.
I tihnk the reason why the long leg thing isn’t as apparent with Starscream as it is with ER prime is because of the waist looking much more like it’s a part of the torso rather than a part of the legs and overall, the waist/hips whatever it’s called looks like one cohesive piece through a combo of it’s sculpting and the plastic colour ER Optimus’s version of that leg configuration fails to work as well as screamer because universal hips are too skinny when compared to the crotch, making it easy to tell its 3 different pieces. The only reason I assume it’s on the figure is because no one noticed until it was too late into the design phase and changing it would require changing the whole way the arms work to give the crotch more space
Yeah it definitely helps to have a defined color break up at the thigh swivel. The thing is I don't know if anyone ever noticed Optimus's problems. For the LONGEST time I was the only person who would talk about them, and it took explaining it like 3 times for people to see what I was talking about.
@@PerspectiveEnd I can’t say for others but I certainly noticed aswell though not until I had the thing for like, a month. I think people didn’t notice as much for multiple reasons though, from the fact that the weird gangly look kind of disappears when he’s in poses to the fact that painting the thighs a lighter grey or white and adding yellow to the middle buckle makes it much less glaring an issue. When people say it’s a mini MP10, it _literally_ is a mini MP10 from the opening hands to the removable matrix, ion blaster, trailer and repair drone to zero faux parts anywhere but the waist section to the somewhat gimped articulation in certain areas what could’ve easily been improved right down to the fact that, it too, is somewhat proportionally wonky yet no one seems to pay attention or really care that much, likely due to people just having too much fun with an Optimus that turns into a very g1’ish looking truck to notice
I bought thundercracker during siege and he blew me away. I bought Starscream shortly after and it blew me away. Then I looked for skywarp and his price blew me away
I have the Netflix zombie er spark less seeker mold & I do enjoy it even though the nose is a bit to tough to split in half but I can overlook that part of the figure
Glad you are liking that one. It's not quite rocking the popping colors, but every other factor should be about the same, and yes the nosecone is usually hard to separate.
Funnily enough the gap on the bottom of Starscreams altmode is just the right size to shove Aimless in there without him falling out wich makes the vehicle look more streamlined and gives it two extra guns. If I didn't know any bettter I'd think that this was an intended feature.
Answer for the video: It’s generally a good figure and one of the better seeker molds you can buy at stores (So that answers why I remember you mentioning having a question per episode but not having any for a while)
I unfortunatly missed that figure. Only started collecting in the final month or so of Siege and went instead for the ER Starscream. Due to this though, I did pick up the Shattered Glass recolour and yeah, I'd say its a lot better.
I’m finally finding things u praise which is .. surprising. I absolutely love the mold. Whilst I don’t own it (yet) I am meaning to find it at tfcon (Toronto) I love how it looks, and the alt mode draws me to it.
The only problem I actually have with it is how much the torso doesn’t make sense for their cybertronian mode (they still have their cockpit from their earth jet mode). But then again, this is accurate to the original show (cause it would have been a waste to make those specific designs they’ll only use for at least 10 minutes of the show. Least animated had more of a reason to, even going so far as to make toys of some of them)
I love this figure, the mold is so much better than the crappy ER Seekers imo. The poseablility is unrivaled, the paint is great, the battle damage looks good, and the Tetra jet mode is one of Siege's best alts. I still hope we get a Sunstorm from this mold.
they probably ask for a review of it constantly because everyone (that i have seen) seems to have one of 2 reactions.... its either the best figure a seeker has ever gotten or they hate cause "it doesnt look right" I'd also like to point out that panel (when transforming him to jet) behind his dead is designed to be in-between his shoulder pilons to fill in the gap so the 3 rocket thrusters can go on the back and complete his look without a bunch of gappyness
I got Siegescream for Christmas 2019, I think he was my first non-battle-master figure from WFC, and the same day Thew Adams uploaded his big Seven-Siege-Seekers review of all of them, which was awesome.
I ended up buying the Earthrise version in Studio Series 86 at Voyager price in my quest to complete the collection, and one of that version's exclusive null rays ended up breaking when I attempted to get out the landing gear THAT HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE! I broke an accessory, and it resulted in nothing because of how he was engineered!
When it comes to shellforming, Siege Starscream is at one end of the spectrum. Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee is at the other. Still waiting for some more skilled than I to repaint one of these Seekers into a Colonial viper. Truly disappointed we didn't get a deluxe Cybertronian saucer out of Bumblebee so we could have a matching Cyclon raider.
You are like the second person in a row to mention the Colonial Viper a Ship I did not till this day know about. And yes those are like the two ends of the Spectrum for Shellforming.
Ok you made me love this figure even more than before. I never even realized how genius the design for the feet are. You got every single aspect that makes this figure pop, from the wings to the paint and tolerance. I might consider buying stickers for Starscream because it’s worth it for him. Just wondering, when transforming the figure is the nose cone section difficult to separate, or is it just a issue of the figure I own? I don’t transform Starscream that often just because this issue even though the rest of the conversion is pretty fun. Wonderful review of a great Starscream figure.
I finally broke down and bought a second Shi-- ahem, Sparkless Seeker to repaint into tetrajet Skywarp. I know going into it that it will suck, not because of the paint itself (Jaquard brand Neopaque Black plus mica-powder glittery Lumiere violet, silver, and orange for the cockpit glass, all excellent paints) but due to my general lack of skill with a brush. At least Skywarp's paint scheme is relatively simple and there are panel lines molded for the borders. Bonus, all the "battle damage" smutz will be painted over as well, so he[ll end up the best looking Siege seeker twice over. ...actually, didn't someone send you a custom of him made from a Thundercracker? I should try to find that video to watch the turntable shot a few times, compare it with other reviewers who got a Phantomstrike set.
When I am using one of my siege Seekers I manage to find how to fill the gap that remains between both halves of the nose, the panel that connects to the head in tretajet mode can stay in the middle since both parts of the nose are molded so that that piece stays there With the chest problem I don't bother at Starscream, at Skywarp it only happened on one part of his chest so I fixed it by putting some glue on the plastic volume that holds the plastic and kept it moving until the adhesive dried.
@@PerspectiveEnd Thundercraker did not present any problem, with Starscream I managed to tolerate the chest problem, but Skywarp had on one side the strength to hold the chest and the other side did not have it.
I mean I have Sky-Warp I do think he has better quality than both or at least mine is but this mold does have a problem the backpack can crack and brake
This is hands down the best Seeker mold. Not even the Bumblebee Seekers come close to this, and those are far superior to the Earthrise ones. I love this mold so much, I was willing to buy Skywarp to finish the entire Siege Seeker armada, and am thinking of eventually picking up Premium Finish Starscream as well. Also, Siege Seekers remind me of Vikings from StarCraft II. Siege Seeker mold is the best!
Probably the best CHUG seeker ever for sure, but I'd say the best over all one is the Deformation Space one, but that should be with it being 3 times more expensive.
@@PerspectiveEnd i think Siege is still probably better. There are main 3 aspects to every Transformer -Robot -Transformation -Vehicle In robot mode Crimson wing likely wins, but in Transformation and Vehicle Siege wins. Siege has a cleaner vehicle and his transformation isn’t a pain
I really enjoyed this take on the Tetra-Jet, by way of Battlestar Galactica Viper. He's got a heft to him, not cheap, especially in vehicle mode. Feels like you could deliver a pointy concussion if you threw it at someone. I really like everything, with that nosecone into his shoulder vent transformation being pretty damn clever. Got this, TC, and even Hotlink because F*CK trying to get Skywarp for under 200 aftermarket.
I would still love to get a G1 Tetrajet, but there is no denying that this was just a Banger Mold. And yes Skywarp was just stupid the way they handled it.
Yeah it manages to not only not look like G1, but also not look like an earth vehicle, and at the same time, NOT look like an indistinct brick on thrusters, like lots of Cybertronian altmodes are want to do.
HO LY SHIET for someone who preferred earthrise modes before the other ones starscream was always one that followed the same premise, simple and predictable i saw ur video and went, oh maybe this might be a cool figure to own, those stickers are looking pretty fantastic, and so i go and wonder how am i going to get my hands on him or even if i need him, i sold my er screamer bc i though studio series would... you know upgrade the mold instead of just literal accesories for 20 bucks on ebay and just semi posable hands, i was very dissapointed and was about to grab the er again until your video came, and wow, just wow i found one at 50 bucks with stickers and all and quickly snapped it, and i gotta tell you that transformation is a godsend, a literal masterpiece, and completely clears my thought on the lazy waythe er one is just classics but bigger and with more steps, this starscream has A WAIST SWIVEL, something the masterpiece couldnt even do it, and a posing only a sly and treaterous decepticon can have this is along with the buzzworthy bumblebee, siege jetfire, ss grimlock, and tr blitzwing among my favorite figure to handle and pose, they are just amazing and the fact all of those i decided to buy because of you, really cements why you might have the most unbiased opinions out of all the transformers reviewers out there couldnt have asked for a better starscream mode, excellent video dude, now to replace my thunderwarp earthrise for the sieges, they are hella worth it
Yeah, It is a great and enjoyable figure(mold). It looks great and his transformation is fun for a shellformer. The quality, paint aps, and the articulation is also great. Anyway, great review.
Another reason why ER Prime looks leggy compared to the likes of SS86 Grimlock and the Tetrajet mold who do the same hip thing is thanks to those having a longer middle crotch piece. Having that piece hanging down creates the illusion of the legs not being as long as they really are.
On the light piping: From my own collection: Prime Ratchet, DOTM Shockwave, Kingdom Cyclonus, Generations Black Shadow, and G2 Dreadwing (oldest figure I own) have AMAZING light piping that catches light from almost anywhere in the room and looks cool as hell. These two Siege seekers we both own, 86 Kup, 86 Blurr, and T30 Chromia don’t have light piping anywhere near as good, but I find that they don’t look dead anyway so I’m fine with it. Although, the light piping on my seekers produces a glow that is VERY red while I noticed your Screamer’s looked orange put to a light. Which just reminded me that I own FOC Skywarp. Legit forgot
@@PerspectiveEnd once u get the funds newage released a toon accurate starscream, same colors as mp. They also have a shattered glass one coming out in march
Couple things, Firstly, I was thinking about just using the Netflix Hotlink as Siege Skywarp, but to quote another youtuber(diamondbolt) "When everyone has to pretend that another guy is the one they want, then you've done something wrong." Also I think the reason this was so requested is because it's one of the few Siege figures you haven't talked about much at all from what I've seen. You might have mentioned it every now and then and briefly given your thoughts, but with reviews for Siege Optimus, Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave, and even Origin Bumblebee (it's basically siege bumblebee) I suppose people were wondering why you hadn't done Starscream yet
Awesome review! He is a fantastic figure, love the articulation! I did the head sculpt swap as well, makes a huge difference. Shame the earthrise didn't have all the same articulation and better plastic the siege one had
I don't know what I did to get this luck but back in the day, I had an extra 40 bucks around my birthday and thought "ya know what? I think I'll go ahead and get this Amazon Skywarp" not knowing it would be such a rare and coveted figure lol.
Now I have three starscreams because of coronation starscream. Which is way too much backstabbery in my household. But still I absolutely love the siege mold even after getting it back in 2019 (which is where I also got siege Megatron ,sixshot and G1 reissue soundwave for Christmas if you needed context)
That could be Bombshell, though (JK, I believe that Cyclonus was an entirely new personality grafted onto a body formed from both Skywarp and Bombshell’s parts)
@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho I do like your belief that Bombshell and Skywarp fused, that could make sense as to why there were two Cylonus's and then we never saw the other one again.

I'm proud to have convinced you to pick that up, and relieved that you like it.
without a doubt one of my favorite Generations figures ever
the presence, the articulation, the strength of the materials, the accuracy is just *chef kiss*
I'm glad you enjoy it more than I do, it does deserve it, I don't know what leaves me a little cold on it.
The Siege Starscream is much more better than Earthrise and first.
This mold is probably the best in my collection. I have the sparkless seeker, and I absolutely love it! I also love how the wings look like the decepticons symbol.
You know I never noticed that about the wings, but yeah they do look a bit like that.
Can confirm this figure is amazing with a stand, air poses for days!!!
Yeah, the ER version SUCKS and it only sold so well because it was G1ish, while being bad at it. GEWUNNERS gonna GEEWUNN!!! you know.
@@PerspectiveEnd i still dont understand how ppl are ok with the SEEKERS being obeese, that makes 0% but i guess Geewuners need a new brain
You mean hotlink
For your question, it’s definitely because it’s the long sought for tetra jet mold that people have wanted forever.
See here's the think, I don't know if this really fills that gap. It's a good space mode for Starscream, but it's not great as a Representation of the Tetrajet.
This figure is what got me back into transformers after the abysmal prime wars trilogy.
Glad to hear the Premium version doesn't feel like a waste of money.
(And given I don't have Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp (well, I actually do, but only their Studio Series figures, no Skywarp included there.), Red Wing, Ion Storm, and Hotlink CAN work in place of those three.)
There's a panel that connects to the head in vehicle mode that fills the gap in robot mode while you can have the thrusters on the back. (Or still in their original spot, as seen out of the box.)
And I'm one of the few souls that doesn't mind the battle damage on these figures.
(I think you'd tolerate the light piping if the color for the piping were lighter, like orange.)
I don't mind the chest not pinned, because at least you CAN put it back on the figure.
(Aaaaaaaand THERE'S NO FOTTAGE OF YOU THRASHING THE EARCEE WHILE TALKING ABOUT SHELLFORMING.)
Oh, wait.
Why do I get the feeling that other people will ask you to cover the Earthrise Starscream after this video?
A few people have asked me to do that yes.
And I can't believe I never realized that's what that panel was for. I mean it takes away the upwards range on the head, so I still wouldn't use it but man it shocks me I didn't figure that out.
@@PerspectiveEnd (And now the Rainmakers showed up, and my god, my Seeker armada is just so colorful!)
What grey plate on the back of his head?
@@PerspectiveEndThe one that attaches to his head for jet mode and that you have tucked away into the chest on the back. You can hinge it up and it will rest in the notches in the faux intakes
I love how he still looks like starscream despite the radically different alt mode
For sure. I love how they made the nosecone into his pylons.
Yeah honestly a lot of the Siege stuff was less Cybertronian, and more Starwars.
I still need a redwing and armada starscream (damn you hasbro if you make my favourite character more g1 then armada)
@@PerspectiveEnd Nope it was brand new
When you talk about light piping I try to think of ways it could be done better, and I think I realized it.
On the Fanstoys Jetfire, they have eyes that are both Chromed and they can still Light Pipe.
@@PerspectiveEnd Best way to do it
Thank you thank you thank you.
I approve this spiteful course of action.
I 100% agree with everything you said about this guy. Even the chest pooping off. But I done a similar fix to you, and now he's mint!
Yeah the chest was so frustrating, and drilling it out was a pain because it was such a small raised part the drill constantly wanted to slip off.
I love this mold because it gave us my favorite “non-character” seeker
And who is that?
@@PerspectiveEnd red wing
I personally have a love for this mold, probably because I have three of it and Starscream specifically was the first figure I ever bought stickers for. When people said the earthrise was better, I thought they were crazy
I remember getting this figure when the earthrise when it was announced. And now that I have them both I can’t believe that I thought I needed the earthrise. This figure is too good!
Yeah the Earthrise figure just doesn't hold a candle to this.
@@PerspectiveEnd exactly
The mold broke on me, twice. The backpack is on one string, I beleive, and it snapped.
I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't even know that was something that happens with this figure. How did it break twice?
@@PerspectiveEnd I had the mold twice, broke similarly.
@@PerspectiveEnd and yet I'm buying it again... after a long period of no purchases
He is very visually appealing. Even if he isn't screen accurate like earthrise Starscream.
I don't think the ER is Screen accurate. He's too puffy for that.
the head is based on g1 of course but also on the Cybertron/galaxy force Starscream
You know I never would have thought of that.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'd really like to get my hands on Coronation Scream, just to see if his armour and cape fit onto the Siege one
(If not, hey, I get a coronation Scream plus a cool throne)
I’m gonna base the seekers cybertronion alt modes off this, I was gonna give them split nosecones but that’s cursed annotomy and I’m trying to make my characters not have that
Why is it cursed.
@@PerspectiveEnd not this alt mode, the split nose cone is based on megatrons space alt mode from the live action movies
I have the hotlink version of this mold and the solidness of that mold just took it to a whole new level
Actually on my Starscream, the light piping works extremely well. Even without a super bright light source they still shine great.
I wonder how they can be so different.
Actually there is a way to cover the gap with the thruster put where it's supposed to go, you take the plate that tabs I to the back of the head and put it in between the shoulder intakes which locks it and the platform the head is on in place and fills the gap in
You don't have to blind yourself for light piping. Just take pics outside on a sunny day
But then everything is so bright the light eyes don't stand out.
@@PerspectiveEnd I wish I had a way to share some of the pics I've taken with you. They come out great
I never mind how its legs crunch up on the bottom. Cybertronian alt modes are typically more for function than disguise.
This figure is an absolute work of art. The fact that people seriously prefer the ER figure blows my mind.
As many times as this mold has been reused, I was really expecting the Coneheads from this mold but alas, I have to turn to other means to get siege Coneheads
It shocks me they never did a cone heads based on this. They did a few made up characters that weren't in the serries before, but no Coneheads.
Guess who got this figure!! I love it, the tetrajet mode the articulation is AWESOME for animating and the paint amd sculpting oh god immaculate!
Hey! Congratulations! I knew you'd like this one. The poseability is a step above so many others.
Because this is one of two molds that Hasbro never stopped remolding or maybe just rerelease
the netflix hotlink and sparkless seekers are great too as they are the improved verion of the mold with 2 battle masters and some blast effects that can be used on them
I've heard bad things about the Sparkless but yes Hotlink looks very good.
@@PerspectiveEnd i dont understand the hate for the sparkless seeker as it can make some good no-name generic seekers
I really dig this figure, of the few Siege figures I've purchased he's definitely one of the best and just does everything with ease. Also I think most people wanted a review of this lad was due to your known distaste for the Earthrise figure and your brief mention of this figure during the Siege video.
I tihnk the reason why the long leg thing isn’t as apparent with Starscream as it is with ER prime is because of the waist looking much more like it’s a part of the torso rather than a part of the legs and overall, the waist/hips whatever it’s called looks like one cohesive piece through a combo of it’s sculpting and the plastic colour
ER Optimus’s version of that leg configuration fails to work as well as screamer because universal hips are too skinny when compared to the crotch, making it easy to tell its 3 different pieces.
I don't know that I'd call a Giant Gun hanging off the bottom of a ship... Stream lined.
@@PerspectiveEnd if you count the curled up robot as a part of the vehicle, then yes, it is slightly more streamlined.
Answer for the video: It’s generally a good figure and one of the better seeker molds you can buy at stores
(So that answers why I remember you mentioning having a question per episode but not having any for a while)
I unfortunatly missed that figure. Only started collecting in the final month or so of Siege and went instead for the ER Starscream. Due to this though, I did pick up the Shattered Glass recolour and yeah, I'd say its a lot better.
It must have been quite the shock to you when you saw my first popular video then and I was talking so much trash on your first line ever?
I’m finally finding things u praise which is .. surprising. I absolutely love the mold. Whilst I don’t own it (yet) I am meaning to find it at tfcon (Toronto) I love how it looks, and the alt mode draws me to it.
I praise a lot of stuff. If you do get a hold of one of these I think you will enjoy it greatly.
@@PerspectiveEnd I will. Possibly at tfcon (Toronto)
Least animated had more of a reason to, even going so far as to make toys of some of them)
I just assume it's like Unicron's Stomach. It's not supposed to be a Jet Cockpit.
I love this figure, the mold is so much better than the crappy ER Seekers imo. The poseablility is unrivaled, the paint is great, the battle damage looks good, and the Tetra jet mode is one of Siege's best alts. I still hope we get a Sunstorm from this mold.
I mean we got a Novastorm who is just Sunstorm by another name.
And yes the ER mold sucks.
@@PerspectiveEnd True, but I mean like the Animated Sunstorm with color breakup instead of a neon blob of shit.
5:39 the back port could potentially be for alt mode to counteract kickback which can be if not counteract be devastating in space
I don't know if you linked to the correct time stamp? It doesn't seem to square with what you said.
@@PerspectiveEnd true 5:50 was the actual time stamp
they probably ask for a review of it constantly because everyone (that i have seen) seems to have one of 2 reactions.... its either the best figure a seeker has ever gotten or they hate cause "it doesnt look right"
I'd also like to point out that panel (when transforming him to jet) behind his dead is designed to be in-between his shoulder pilons to fill in the gap so the 3 rocket thrusters can go on the back and complete his look without a bunch of gappyness
Finally… I’ve been waiting for a review for this figure that love so much. We need mp figure that are in their cybertronian. MP SPACE BUMBLEBEE
I'm glad I was finally able to satisfy your BURNING NEED!
The rightful ruler of the decepticons deserves all the praise he can get
Man now I really want one so ill add that to the list of things i gotta look for
There were about a Million Versions of this figure so it shouldn't be too hard to find some version for a Reasonable Price.
Such a amazing looking figure and articulation
Even got a fun Transformation, if you fix the chest panel.
I'm sorry to hear that. Yet another reason why the Earthrise version is just worse.
Do your best. I believe in you.
When I am using one of my siege Seekers I manage to find how to fill the gap that remains between both halves of the nose, the panel that connects to the head in tretajet mode can stay in the middle since both parts of the nose are molded so that that piece stays there
With the chest problem I don't bother at Starscream, at Skywarp it only happened on one part of his chest so I fixed it by putting some glue on the plastic volume that holds the plastic and kept it moving until the adhesive dried.
Someone else just mentioned that about the back plate.
Really you had problems with your thundercracker.
@@PerspectiveEnd Thundercraker did not present any problem, with Starscream I managed to tolerate the chest problem, but Skywarp had on one side the strength to hold the chest and the other side did not have it.
Could you do a stream/video unboxing figures?
I don't typically have a lot to unbox at once, if I ever make the PO box public I might though.
@@PerspectiveEnd ok nice
Im so glad i picked up Redwing because his deco is super nice looking in hand
I see why people love this mold so much because of how posable he is!
It has other great qualities too, but yes it is very posable.
I mean I have Sky-Warp I do think he has better quality than both or at least mine is but this mold does have a problem the backpack can crack and brake
I would love to see a video of you reviewing the siege prowl and barricade
I will at some point.
There are main 3 aspects to every Transformer
-Robot
-Transformation
-Vehicle
In robot mode Crimson wing likely wins, but in Transformation and Vehicle Siege wins.
I love the tetrajet alt mode it looks so good and space like. Just much cool many wow
Yeah it manages to not only not look like G1, but also not look like an earth vehicle, and at the same time, NOT look like an indistinct brick on thrusters, like lots of Cybertronian altmodes are want to do.
HO LY SHIET
for someone who preferred earthrise modes before the other ones starscream was always one that followed the same premise, simple and predictable i saw ur video and went, oh maybe this might be a cool figure to own, those stickers are looking pretty fantastic, and so i go and wonder how am i going to get my hands on him or even if i need him, i sold my er screamer bc i though studio series would... you know upgrade the mold instead of just literal accesories for 20 bucks on ebay and just semi posable hands, i was very dissapointed and was about to grab the er again until your video came, and wow, just wow
i found one at 50 bucks with stickers and all and quickly snapped it, and i gotta tell you that transformation is a godsend, a literal masterpiece, and completely clears my thought on the lazy waythe er one is just classics but bigger and with more steps, this starscream has A WAIST SWIVEL, something the masterpiece couldnt even do it, and a posing only a sly and treaterous decepticon can have this is along with the buzzworthy bumblebee, siege jetfire, ss grimlock, and tr blitzwing among my favorite figure to handle and pose, they are just amazing and the fact all of those i decided to buy because of you, really cements why you might have the most unbiased opinions out of all the transformers reviewers out there
couldnt have asked for a better starscream mode, excellent video dude, now to replace my thunderwarp earthrise for the sieges, they are hella worth it
I'm glad I convinced you to get something you like so much, amazed it arrived so quickly.
I think everyone who has this set of seekers, which is my personal favorite seeker design "I'm a chug guy" has swapped cracker and screamers heads
Yeah, It is a great and enjoyable figure(mold). It looks great and his transformation is fun for a shellformer. The quality, paint aps, and the articulation is also great. Anyway, great review.
Also, respect for the people who sold their souls only to make this figure/mold. Also, I felt sorry for Starscream's eyes.
Another reason why ER Prime looks leggy compared to the likes of SS86 Grimlock and the Tetrajet mold who do the same hip thing is thanks to those having a longer middle crotch piece. Having that piece hanging down creates the illusion of the legs not being as long as they really are.
I think you are correct in that observation.
The stilleto heels on this guy may be a reference to Prime Starscream.
This was definitely a highlight of Siege for sure. I ended up custom painting me a skywarp...lil exclusive bastard
On the light piping:
From my own collection: Prime Ratchet, DOTM Shockwave, Kingdom Cyclonus, Generations Black Shadow, and G2 Dreadwing (oldest figure I own) have AMAZING light piping that catches light from almost anywhere in the room and looks cool as hell.
I absolutely need newage to try a tetrajet. I love their seeker mold but my heart ultimately belongs to cybertronian designs.
I'd like to see MMC take a Stab at it.

Couple things,
Firstly, I was thinking about just using the Netflix Hotlink as Siege Skywarp, but to quote another youtuber(diamondbolt)
"When everyone has to pretend that another guy is the one they want, then you've done something wrong."
Also I think the reason this was so requested is because it's one of the few Siege figures you haven't talked about much at all from what I've seen.
Wow, that is lucky, that think always sold out in like a Heartbeat so it was impossible to pick up.
Gundam markers actually make chrome eye markers. If your brave enough to split a figures head in half I think you'd really like it.
If I were to rank all 3 parts of the War For Cybertron Trilogy, it would be this:
1. Siege
2. Kingdom
3. Earthrise
I would agree to that.
Now I have three starscreams because of coronation starscream. Which is way too much backstabbery in my household. But still I absolutely love the siege mold even after getting it back in 2019 (which is where I also got siege Megatron ,sixshot and G1 reissue soundwave for Christmas if you needed context)
I got the shattered glass starscream for Christmas and it is amazing, like he feels like he would smash a wall
technically, you do have Skywarp. you have Cyclonus!
That could be Bombshell, though (JK, I believe that Cyclonus was an entirely new personality grafted onto a body formed from both Skywarp and Bombshell’s parts)
You fool! Dont start this debate again!
@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho I do like your belief that Bombshell and Skywarp fused, that could make sense as to why there were two Cylonus's and then we never saw the other one again.
@@BlackLivesMatter23 Just be glad I'm not sharing my opinions on who's Rumble and who's Frenzy (RIRFIB forever fight me)
When you said that you returned some seekers with nullray looseness problems, i feel like you at some point owned the skittle squad rain makers.
