I used this card during the perfect curve tavern brawl. Turn 4 death biter, turn 5 grim patron, turn 6 reaver. I was actually beating the druid and secret paladin decks with it... really cleaned up, and I barely noticed anyone play it
+Mei's little Robot Dude No, it is terrible in patron. You can't control when you draw it, it likely kills of your 3/1 patrons, and when you have a good board for it, you will likely over-summon patrons. And as a bonus, it's a 6 mana minion, you can't play 2 of them in one turn.

Sea Reaver won me a game in the Randomonium Tavern Brawl. I had an (undamaged) Amani Berserker, and my oponent had just dropped an Ironbark Protector. Having no awnser, I played Commanding Shout, wich, what do you know, drew a Sea Reaver. This made my Amani a favourable targer for the Rampage I had in my hand, so BOOM, I killed the Ironbark, had an 8/1 left over and won the game. Best Sea Reaver EVER!

I saw this card a few times actually, when Unstable Portal was still in the game. I also got it as a Discover minion once or twice. Through Discover, it's basically a Boulderfist Ogre (not that bad), and through Unstable Portal, it's actually pretty damn terrifying, since you can basically drop it on turn 3. Of course with Standard in place, getting it through Portal isn't exactly a thing anymore.
As a dane, it is my duty to tell you that a Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce (which costs $500,000 in the US.) costs 1.2 mil in Denmark. I'm glad riding my bike to work shortens my traveling time to work by 25%, compared to any other transport i have yet figured out. Bike OpOp.

Back before Warsong Nerf, I had 2 of these in my Patron deck and it only ever yielded good results. Lately however, you need to cater the deck so you have higher HP minions; preferably with taunt, and rely on Frothing, Bolster and Rampage timings to get some serious burst damage in. Combos well with a more Aggresive "John Cena" Control Deck (outta nowhere). However compared to a Draggro Warrior, it is very dependant on draw order.

I drafted sea reaver once and went 4-3. 2 of the losses came directly from drawing sea reaver when i had multiple minions on the board with one health in the early game.
Blizzard probably thought to themselves "well, Warrior has many cards that benefit from dealing damage to them, and that Grim Patron-deck seems popular right now. Thus, people will love this card, since it gives them yet another opportunity to deal damage to their own minions!" ... except in typical fashion they also forgot that the REASON Grim Patron, Frothing Berzerker, Acolyte of Pain and all the other cards that work off of getting damaged actually work, is because YOU, the player, have control over WHEN they get damaged. Whirlwind might deal damage to all your minions, but only when YOU play that card. And you only play that card when you CHOOSE to. The problem with Sea Reaver is that you have no control whatsoever over when you draw it, simply because there are no real deck manipulation mechanics in Hearthstone that allows such a thing to be possible. The only thing I can think of would be Tracking, except that's a Hunter card, inaccessible to Warriors. And even then, the odds of you drawing the Sea Reaver at random and boning over your whole board isn't worth it. It MIGHT have been worth it if you also dealt damage to the opponents minions, but I'm still not sure it would make anyone use it.

When I was playing the tavern brawl with random cards and random mana costs I played two varian wrynns one turn, filling my board. My opponent played acidmaw the next turn and then I drew sea reaver, needless to sayI lost because of that.
I played with this card in a Tavern Brawl, when it was a randomly generated deck and it managed to make me lose the game because it cleared my board after value trading into my opponents minions leaving them at 1 hp and the best thing I had not 1 but 2! 2 of these guys in the deck and it did the same thing TWICE that game. >_>

5:10 His turn 5: a sheep + hero power. Your turn 5: a 5/5 minion with potential, a 2/2 and a 2/1 with charge. How come we never face that kind of 3-0 dimwitted opponents?
Except for that moment when you have a 17 attack 1 Health Frothing Beseker, your enemy ends his turn and you're about to win the game and you draw Sea Reaver.
+tyfenrir that makes no sense because why would you conveniently be left with one health in that situation? you dont use that card to trade unless you have to and if you say I am about to win, why would my opponent leave it on one health? they would rather trade with other things or just go face and then concede. that situation makes no sense tbh
+PandaPwnage yea, lets stuff a deck full of shit so whenever a random effect occurs you get a little extra instead of controlling the effect by playing the already functional patrion deck with whirlwinds, seems good.
The issue with that is that warrior already has too many whirlwind effects to fit all of them in most decks and all of the other ones also have the utility of dealing damage to the enemy board. Add to it that you can't control when it happens and that you're left with a boulderfist ogre that has no synergy with the deck concept as a minion. It's just so difficult to justify even trying, is the payoff ever really going to be that great? I really do wish the card had a home since the art, name and even the concept are pretty sweet. But it's one of the few "bad" cards that really are just legitimately bad.
It should've been "After you summon this minion, deal 1 damage to ALL minions" so then it would be good but it would be a 6/6 because it would damage itself. However, that would also combo with rampage etc.
I had it in a 11-win deck with no thanks to him. I had weapons weapons and more weapons. All sea reaver did was nuke my board whenever it is the least convenient for me (like having a bunch of 1-health minion).
Kripp, can you discuss what's going to happen when Blackrock Mountain and TGT rotate out of Standard. A lot of people think Priest sucks right now so it would be interesting to see what you think of them losing all their dragon synergy. R.I.P priest class. They never cared how much you sucked.
Has anyone ever built a deck to utilize Sea Reaver's effect as a positive? There are quite a lot of minions that want to take 1 damage, or at least don't care. I'd love to see such a deck in action before I declared Sea Reaver to be terrible.
Wouldn't this card kinda work in like a armorsmith + enragecards + gurubashi berzerker deck? Have someone tried it? Like put all enrage cards and all that in one deck plus some good basic warrior cards.
Not a good card, but I am not sure if it lost you any games you wouldn'tve lost anyway. Maybe you can argue the tempo loss from losing the 2/1 but that warlock was "literally constructed" so...
If Sea Reaver's ability was a battlecry I wonder if it would see play then. I mean its body is solid for the mana cost obviously and it could be useful if you could choose when you play it and built your deck around it, but still I can't see a deck built around that even being tier 3 and if you put this card even w/Battlecry in any deck its like a Unstable Ghoul but costs twice as much so its less handy and doesnt hurt the opponents team so you can't use it as a whirlwind so it's also less versatile just seems strictly worse idk seems like Blizzard shit the bed on this one and chose to made Unstable Ghoul what it was supposed to be lol.
Did Kripp even read any Blizz anouncements? They said they want to do Expansion - Adventure - Expansion every year, so we're getting another expansion in Nov or Dec this year...
The number of mages in arena is out of control. I'm on a run right now, currently 4-1, and 4 of the matches have been against mages, one against Paladin, and I've gotten the coin every game.
Also joking aside, never buy a lamborghini, they mass produce those so they depreciate in value, most supercars are in limited runs so will appreciate value due to beeing special and you'll make money of them.
i don't feel like Sea Reaver is bad, i feel like it just has it's own niche that nobody has found, and that nobody will find since 90%of the players just net-deck anyway :/
it is fucking terrible. an effect you cannot control that can backfire is extremely fucking bad. Even with yogg YOU decide when you play it. and its not played at all in tournaments for a good reason. This game is all about consistency nowadays, that card is the epitome of inconsistency and shit.

When I was playing the tavern brawl with random cards and random mana costs I played two varian wrynns one turn, filling my board. My opponent played acidmaw the next turn and then I drew sea reaver, needless to sayI lost because of that.
when combined with grim patron, enrages, or deathrattles that explode when killed, this card can be quite devastating.
I played with this card in a Tavern Brawl, when it was a randomly generated deck and it managed to make me lose the game because it cleared my board after value trading into my opponents minions leaving them at 1 hp and the best thing I had not 1 but 2! 2 of these guys in the deck and it did the same thing TWICE that game. >_>
Sea Reaver might work in the disneyland warrior deck or one with lots of enrage mechanics, grim patron and acolyte of pain

If you focus on enrage and grim patron you could inverts partially its downsides
its a good card with grim patron. it has synergizes with patron, acolyte, and frothing berserker

+tyfenrir that makes no sense because why would you conveniently be left with one health in that situation? you dont use that card to trade unless you have to and if you say I am about to win, why would my opponent leave it on one health? they would rather trade with other things or just go face and then concede. that situation makes no sense tbh
+PandaPwnage yea, lets stuff a deck full of shit so whenever a random effect occurs you get a little extra instead of controlling the effect by playing the already functional patrion deck with whirlwinds, seems good.
The issue with that is that warrior already has too many whirlwind effects to fit all of them in most decks and all of the other ones also have the utility of dealing damage to the enemy board. Add to it that you can't control when it happens and that you're left with a boulderfist ogre that has no synergy with the deck concept as a minion. It's just so difficult to justify even trying, is the payoff ever really going to be that great?
I really do wish the card had a home since the art, name and even the concept are pretty sweet. But it's one of the few "bad" cards that really are just legitimately bad.

I forgot until late in this video that it doesn't even hit your opponent's minions. Even if it did, it would be almost unplayably bad
It should've been "After you summon this minion, deal 1 damage to ALL minions" so then it would be good but it would be a 6/6 because it would damage itself. However, that would also combo with rampage etc.
Then it would just be an Inferno
an inferno has a completely different dynamic when placed in a warrior deck rather than a warlock one, though.

I had it in a 11-win deck with no thanks to him. I had weapons weapons and more weapons. All sea reaver did was nuke my board whenever it is the least convenient for me (like having a bunch of 1-health minion).

Has anyone ever built a deck to utilize Sea Reaver's effect as a positive? There are quite a lot of minions that want to take 1 damage, or at least don't care. I'd love to see such a deck in action before I declared Sea Reaver to be terrible.

I have made this card work in enrage decks. Still blows but it can work with stuff like that.
Not a good card, but I am not sure if it lost you any games you wouldn'tve lost anyway. Maybe you can argue the tempo loss from losing the 2/1 but that warlock was "literally constructed" so...

If Sea Reaver's ability was a battlecry I wonder if it would see play then. I mean its body is solid for the mana cost obviously and it could be useful if you could choose when you play it and built your deck around it, but still I can't see a deck built around that even being tier 3 and if you put this card even w/Battlecry in any deck its like a Unstable Ghoul but costs twice as much so its less handy and doesnt hurt the opponents team so you can't use it as a whirlwind so it's also less versatile just seems strictly worse idk seems like Blizzard shit the bed on this one and chose to made Unstable Ghoul what it was supposed to be lol.

The number of mages in arena is out of control. I'm on a run right now, currently 4-1, and 4 of the matches have been against mages, one against Paladin, and I've gotten the coin every game.

it is fucking terrible. an effect you cannot control that can backfire is extremely fucking bad. Even with yogg YOU decide when you play it. and its not played at all in tournaments for a good reason. This game is all about consistency nowadays, that card is the epitome of inconsistency and shit.
