I remember when I first played this, dad walked in the living room with the 80 inch TV, and I could tell it blew both our minds for a big when I jumped and caught onto the wings and it lifted me into the air. My dad had not really played video games since super Nintendo so it's a BIG jump from that to feeling like you're taking down a massive flying colossus in such an organic way. Everytime I played the game he would watch, and this was one of the only ones he would prefer to watch instead of wanting to watch television. So he let me hog the TV if the game was this much fun to watch. It sucks that it has been what... 16 years? And that feeling of fighting the Colossus is still primarily in this game. Though people usually complain when a game tries to be a spiritual sequel to this beyond one or two boss fights. It's weird. I really want to play a SotC 2, regardless if the original studio makes it or not.
Preach. I think a good idea for a sequel would be if they used all the unused Colossi for this one. It'd make sense, and others would love it. Also, my dad does that too! He walked in, saw this, and had to sit down because he was in awe. The game truly is a masterpiece.

@zemocon2868 monster hunter they live in a world of hunting. If you play stories you will see that the monster attack the village to hunt to. Because of that they have hunters to protect humanity too
That the 11 solar flairs that was used before 😂 the aerial fin tail was used to use my grandparents to cover the prayer room so this beast can go free 😂 I aint got to this boss yet 😂
I can understand the greatness of this fight in a 2005 context, but playing it recently, it seemed like an effortless assassination, not nearly as enjoyable as no. 5's fight jumping onto the wings as it tries to kill you.
Jack Baker actually this is one of he bosses that doesn't attack you. I always found it to be pretty sad. Most of the other Colossus give you a reason to kill them by attacking. This one just flys around

This game does a really, REALLY good job of making you feel guilty, yes. It's rather surprising, really.
I think the big bulbs are big sacks that hold air to keep phalax flying like a hot air balloon plus the help of the fins/wings

this game is so magical and the soundtrack is one of the best ever made for a videogame.
I remember playing this through on the PS2 - nearly gave me arthritis! Incredible boss battle. One I'll never forget.

Every time in the last decade that they announced a graphics update or remaster, _this boss_ is the first one everyone would think of.
I kinda wish Worm made it into the game knowing that it was supposed to be the biggest of the Colossi and was going to be the last one originally.

Well it look beautiful, but they messed up the sound design. Phalanx doesn't sound nearly as awesome as it did in the original.
