Shadow of the Colossus coming to Steam is a dream that will never come true :( If you want an explanation, Xbox and Windows work together. Playstation isn't included in any of this.
I would argue NieR has. If you haven't listened to it's OST, go and do it and after you thank me, you can do yourself a favour and play the game. Assuming you haven't already done all of that ofc.
Zack Tahiri i'm terrified. I absolutely love skyrim and i have spent hundreds of hours with it but ure so FCKIN right... scares the shit outta me to think how epic SOTC is .... :D
TheDarkDraGoN2009 How? I mean, considering ps2's game library......If one made it to a top 100 list, its a good game, so not that surprising. Plus you know next gen does not equal better. Look at itunes lol.
This piece is so powerful. On one side, you have these heavy brass and drum sections to increase the epicness of the battle (huge and slow movement) ; on the other side, you can hear a lighter violin section that reminds you the weakness of the hero : even if he is really brave, he is facing an enemy WAY bigger than him (symbolised by Brass and drums). The piece open on brass : the appearance of the colossus. Right after, the violins answer to show the determination of the hero.... I really love the part where these woodwinds make you feel like you can fall off from the beast at any moment !
Especially when you feel the adrenaline pump into your veins as you are climbing up any colossus, It sends waves of courage and urgency throughout my soul when this song ques in!
+Nope Nope what ?? it’s been years since i played so i don’t even remenber the controls schemes, but i’m sure traingle for jump would be a pain in the ass

Colossus slowly turns around. *shat my pants* • 3rd colossus starts to swing sword/arm thing. *flees for my life and jumps off the cliff* • sees the avion intro. THAT BITCH CAN FLY!!?? *heart starts racing* •can't figure out how to beat Dirge and after an hour decides to shoot the bastard in his huge friggin eyes. *dirge squeals and crashes into the wall*. WHAT JUST HAPPENED OMG DID I BREAK THE GAME!!??
that sonuvabitch scared the crap outta me. the creepy music when you first get there, then when i make noise i hear THUD THUD and the screen is shaking and the lizard thing pops up in the window/bars and shoots poisonous lightning bolts at me. im like "IT CAN CLIMB WALLS!! I'M DOOMED!" but when i shot his legs for the first time and fell i had to pause the game and laugh my azz off. TAKE THAT KUROMORI!!!
I've seen nary a single game give me the same immense satisfaction of single-handedly taking down a giant building of a creature whilst piling an equal feeling of remorse and pity for it. This game will forever fail to get old, or die out. At least for me.
True, but eventually you will die. Everyone who knows about this will eventually die, so this will get forgotten sooner or later. Unless you pass it on till forever but that's almost impossible.
everyone talking about how epic this song is but to me it just makes me cry everytime LOL. Really captures all the shit Wander had to go through and then what he got out of it at the end.
I really don't get how people can compare AoT with SotC, they're really different. From theme to story. The only similarity is there are giant creatures in both of them and even they look extremely different. I get the need to compare something to something else but you can find similarities in anything, doesn't mean they are actually alike.
When people, myself included, say that SotC is the original AoT, it's a joke towards people comparing the two, as well as putting down AoT at the same time.
They're really different but a big similarity. Shadow of The Colossus you kill the Colossus' by (from my understanding I haven't actually played it although I really should) climbing up them to reach the weak point to kill them. Attack on Titan uses the 3DMG to survive and reach the titan's nape which would be it's weak point (which is the AoT version of a colossus' weak point) only other things I can think of is that the titans in AoT and the colossus' in SotC generally have a VERY easy to see difference in size between them and the main characters.
This song always gave me chills when I was battling a Colossus. It really captures the desperate struggle, both you and the colossi just wanting to survive the encounter.

This song conveys rudeness, loneliness, torment, cunning. each hand on the piano defends a purpose, an adventure, a challenge. and in this great broad landscape theme, an invitation, an adventure. I remember when I played this game for the first time, I was only 6 years old... And today, at 17 years old, it remains my favorite game. Anyway, I would like to write a lot more, however, I am not fluent in English and I fear that my text will be confusing. Anyway, this game is a true work of art.
This song gets my blood pumping and I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to...like Wander, you can crush creatures the size of mountains to bring back your loved one if need be.
Everyone knows this is the best part 0:00- 0:05- 2:29 0:05- Epic drums with like 3 violin's that sounds magical I could listen to this song all day and not get tired of it.
When everything aligns and the music kicks in, that's when this game is unbeatable. Other times the boss AI is absolutely broken and nothing happens. BUT you will forget that as soon as you are killing the colossus and you take a breath of relief after the fight.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. To me... this game is pure art.The map they made is art, the details of the colossi is art, the music is art. All these elements alone are artistic enough alone. The fact that you can discover this hidden world and look at the beauty is awesome. You may think it's just a game, and that really is what it is at it's core, but I like to think of it as interactive art.
A sequel needs to be made. I'm usually not the kind of guy who asks for sequels just for the sake of hoping to re-experiencing a great game. I honestly believe there was untapped potential and easily room for expansion on this title. The game was awesome, but it certainly don't think it's incapable of being topped. Heck, better controls would be a great start--that was the game's single flaw! I'm also not the type of person to put graphics into great consideration, but for a game like Shadow of Colossus, in which the visual spectacle of the massive enemies really are a part of the game's awe, there's no denying a modern-detailed HD Shadow of Colossus game would be particularly amazing.
Seb Daigle As far as plot goes, it wouldn't have to be Wander. It could be an entirely new protagonist with a new motive. And as for gameplay, I feel as though similar gameplay would hold up fine as long as they added some new features. There's still a lot they could do with the old format. Here are some possibilities: *Unique environment*- The original game was nothing but flat plains. I understand the visual reasons, but with a new game would require new artistic approaches. Why not ditch the one-field-fits-all routine and have the protagonist travel to new places? Why not fight colossi in the tundra? In the open seas? The desert? Imagine fighting a colossus in the jungle, with it smashing trees with every step! *Weather Conditions*- I was very surprised that a game that relied so much on gritty aesthetics ignored the chance to create any battles that took place at night or during storms. With new environments could come a medley of new weather. *Dynamics*- The most colossi ever did in the original game was break a couple necessary walls. Considering these are giants we're fighting, there's plenty of room for more dynamic fights. *Tactics*-New ways to dispatch colossi other than climbing/stabbing them. Not that there's anything wrong with that. *Items*- Honestly, I think the minimalist idea of the player having nothing but a sword, a bow and a horse all game was cool. But new items could be a possibility if done right. *Multiplayer*- I'm not just throwing this out there for the hell of it. Even though loneliness was part of the original game's appeal, the thought of problem-solving, scaling, and defeating these creatures with a friend just seems really satisfactory. I suggest only 2-man local play, though. No online group bullshit.
The beauty of Fumito Ueda games is they are never direct sequels or prequels aim to milk the cow as much as possible. It's always a new thing aim to get everyone interested. The Last Guardian. Get Hype.
I have poured so much of my willpower into this song. Pushed myself beyond everything I was and thought I could be with the blinding surge of relentless, primal power and within the drums, the strings, the wind, the terror, the desperate need, the heartbreaking love, the life, the death in this music. Dragging rusted iron chains attached to hundreds of pounds of steel through torrential rain day after day, so that I can be strong enough to protect my amazing wife and son.
Already finished this game like 14 times and can't get tired of it, i played shadow of the colossus when i was 7 or 8 and now i'm 15 and still play sometimes when i can
Cazle7 They could do it, if they didn't make it so the slightest movement would make wanderer's view go all over the place. Plus being thrown around by a colossus would be half the fun.
This song will always be THE most epic battle music I have ever listened to. This game will always be my childhood favorite and I will never be rid of it. This game has so much beauty, it is a work of art. My favorite colossi will always be Phalanx the flying one with the air sacs. Also, does this song have a choir? An if not will someone please make a mix with this song and choir? Fumito Ueda, you did well.
This whole masterpiece is art. The storyline and the beautiful music was capable to make me feel emotions during the gameplay. That's why Shadow of The Colossuss is an artistic game
When I listen to this it seriously reminds me of that no matter how tough life is? or should one say how difficult the obstacle is you defeat the obstacle in your path as its certain you will conquer the mountain and just keep going and don't stop.
I can clearly remember when I heard this score the first time, when you hit the colossus on a weakspot and he falls on his knee and hands. I had found a weakness in this colossus - the situation had been reversed, i understood - I a small man could overcome this titan. But some part of me - felt empathy for the colossus when this music came on, the fact that we all have a weakness, small or colossal in size - we can all meet our doom. I've always felt a bittersweet kind of determination while listening to this. I guess it's empathy for the devil, once the weakness have been exposed in the bad even they will become desperate and look for some kind of salvation of their own. Still you must be determined to follow through, and beat the bad. TLDR: I love this song, it makes me feel bittersweet as hell, I love hate the colossus.
Before that game, every boss fight in every game were a build up of more or less boring sequences, hack and slash and repetition. Then someone thought of a game made entirely of boss fights, with and open world put before our eyes to find them. With a hero that doesn't speak. With a purpose that will never get old. With a soundtrack that carries the entire game on its back. A colossal one that's no lie. This isn't a game. This is a story your grandmother tells you before you go to sleep and it takes a year to tell. This is legend with a wire and a screen. Make it last forever!
A cautionary tale about the dangers of selfishly pursuing your own desires, and told with so few words. All style, all substance, and the music is no exception.
Shadow of the Colossus is not just a game, but art, and an epic experience.
It's the game I use to prove that gaming can be art.
And a lot of people seem to agree.
Dark souls and sotc are more than art lol.

SotC is NOT a game, SotC is more than that, it's an experience!
When a wasp is buzzing around you and you’re trying to avoid getting stung:
How is this song so nostalgic and why do I have memories of it from when I was little despite never playing this game?
Did you play ROBLOX at one point?
I hope they make a remastered version of this with the PS4, that can use Sony's VR headset, and has a first person mode.
Cazle7 THE FOV
OH GOD NO *pukes*
Cazle7 They could do it, if they didn't make it so the slightest movement would make wanderer's view go all over the place. Plus being thrown around by a colossus would be half the fun.
They already remastered it for the PS3. Its time for a full flesh remake for the PS4.
Noooo no more remasteres and more original videogames
ElfenDamaLied28 im also against remasters... But i'd buy a SotC for the PS4 in no time
This song will always be THE most epic battle music I have ever listened to.
This is probably the most beautiful game i ever played
melhor música de shadow of the colossos ever
BONS TEMPOS
0:05 WE FIGHT
When I listen to this it seriously reminds me of that no matter how tough life is? or should one say how difficult the obstacle is you defeat the obstacle in your path as its certain you will conquer the mountain and just keep going and don't stop.
An epic climbing theme ^^
God I fucking love this game one of my favorite games of all time
Musica extraordinaria
When Kratos starts climbing Ares.
One of the best video game themes composed so far
Nothing can describe the panic when my sword bounced off his leg 😂 that slow realisation "this isnt like dark souls is it?"
This game is the definition of epic
This song was played in my head when i was doing the final math exam
STA Fuck, same here, I will be doing my last test in two weeks so I will remember this song lol
One does simply watch this once
When I saw the first boss I was like HOLY SHIT then that song showed up and I felt like attacking it
this is still the best game ever created
