    I love the fact that they all look like they were laying there for long periods of time after they've been slain... we have no idea just how long they've been there. to us and wander, this was mere hours ago, but to anyone outside... it could be months... years even...

      It's obvious by the condition of the corpse that a lot of time passes in between the death of each colossus. It's quite possible that time stops for everything in the Forbidden Lands except the colossi. That could explain why the sun never changes it's position & also why only the corpse of the colossi seem to age, but Wander, Agro, & Mono don't show any signs aging.

      @@somebodyfixmyinternet that is debatable, time flows differently in the forbidden lands, for all we know, the shaman is a stranger from many years after wander left his tribe. There is no game that can make you root for the villain quite like SotC.
    We all know Wander is, at the very least, a neutral character with no moral qualms against releasing ancient danger into the world, yet we root for him. And in the same breath, it obliges us realize the consequences of his actions, i.e. the sad song that accompanies each of the Colossus' defeat or Wander's own body twisting into Dormin.
    I believe that is better illustrated in the last Colossus fight: when Wander reaches up to it's hands, it won't be initially hostile and will even stare at Wander with curiosity. Meanwhile, Wander's disfigured form is hellbent on killing it.

Only the building parts of them remain visible, as if their living parts had already been freed, their souls released. What’s been done has been done, and there’s no changing that, but there’s no use in dwelling on it. Nature has accepted them back after their tortured and cursed existence had ended. Agro and Wander do not age, nor does Mono decompose (though Dormin could be preserving her)... and also NOTHING else about the world changes but the colossi.

All for a reward... the titans lay down on their final resting place to decay and be part of the ecosystem as a whole....

The colossi are terrifying in this game, but also majestic and awesome. It is sad to see them like this...like a bygone era of myth, such as the Titans from Greek folklore. I’ve always wondered if every colossus comes back to life after you finish the game and that Dormin is now banished again which begs the question:what if they come back to life and roam freely without having Dormin in them and just have goodness in their bodies cause I’m thinking that the people that once lived there before it became forbidden that they once loved the colossi like they were family to them like what actually happened to the people that once cared for the colossi’s before they were put to sleep for who knows how long until Wander came around with the specific sword that awakens every colossi there (comment below on what your thoughts on about this cause I’m curious)

    • @mcgfn

      The colossi were created specifically to house the fractured spirit of Dormin, they did not exist prior to his banishment. They didn't live a life outside of being inhabited by Dormin.

    While it is sad, there's something absolutely beautiful about how the colossi's bodies are being used to bring forth and nourish new life into the land. It all foreshadows Wander's ultimate fate in a way.

    For me, these Colossus were created by the residents of these lands for a long time as False gods, but they were just statues Created to be worshiped, each place they inhabited was a unique god of those people, and the initial temple was a type of church to honor all these gods Showing the alliance of the people in this country of forgotten lands.
    When this evil god appeared, the residents of that country, jealous of him wanting his power, put his soul in the statues to make their beloved gods come to life, but it didn't work,They died for the gods they gave life to.

    • @BIGD-cc7ru
      @BIGD-cc7ru 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I think the build up of rock and debris growing around their body is to show to the player that every time you defeat a colossus, a LONG period time has passed, months probably (would say years but that seems a bit far fetched) and it questions you on what happens when you are knocked out and mysteriously transported back to Dorman’s temple

    • @daokoxd1145
      @daokoxd1145 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Late reply but the way it seems is that the colossus Rapidly decayed after many years of being locked in time so as to catch up or the magic that kept them alive faded and it just returned them to what it once was: Dirt and grass with only the artificial stones and armor staying. If we go by the time moves differently like months or years then it wouldn't make sense because Emon and his men would have been very old once they catch up to Wander in the final scene.
      Best theory is the first one where they rapidly decayed like Time is catching up to them since the Forbidden lands where sealed in time and was gradually broken

      @timmadone8930 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All the dialog spoken in the game is the same in all 3 versions (PS2, PS3, PS4). The only difference is the PS4 version has either new voice acting or a remix of existing voice acting for the male/female voice of Dormin. Either way the subtitles of what Dormin is saying are the same in all 3 versions. I did notice though that one line spoken by one of Lord Emon's men is missing from the PS4 version.

    I’ve always been curious how the colossi were made. I understand that part of it is magic of some sort, with the god’s power. But, what about the actual assembly of them? Were they crafted in sort of facility? Where the designers used tools to apply the intricate pattern of the stone each one had on their bodies. Or, were they bred from an ancient form of alchemy? Where they combine both stone and living tissue to create the colossi. And the god’s power was the source of their activation? 🧐🧐🧐

    Doesn't matter if it's played on PS5 really, it's still a PS4 version game with the same PS4 limits. There's no version that takes any advantage of the PS5's new hardware capabilities. Sure the 30fps is stable but 30fps is all you get and the resolution is the exact same on the PS5 in all guality modes as the PS4. I really wish Bluepoint would release a framerate unlocked 4K version of this game, like Guerrilla games did for Zero Dawn. I know they can do it, just up the resolution and uncap the framerate. Idk why so many studios won't do it.
