Yes. The complexity makes the battle fun. I remember finding Celosia battle also very frustrating once its armour breaks. I could never have Wander hit a good stab with that thing charging around and shaking every 2 seconds. I'd give it like 1 or 2 weak stabs before going out of stamina. Good times tho.

Exactly. The emotions and motivations that are unspoken through dialogue are very clearly presented in the games music. You can hear the sheer force of will and drive wander has to be able to pull himself through these trials of strength, all for his princess. Such a great game and one of the best soundtracks of all time
I do feel that the rush of the music doesn't just represent the courage of the Wanderer and his enduring detication to bring back Mona. In an empathetic sense, it can also have us sympathize with the fear and desperation of the colossi struggling to fight Wanderer off as we watch them being gradually and torturously bled out strike after strike. The colossi aren't just mere automatons animated by the dark souls sealed within their crumbling, eroded bodies. They are living, breathing creatures that very much have the capacity to feel pain and sentience to act upon the terror of losing their life.

Eu não consigo nem descrever o quanto gosto de sotc. Foi um dos jogos que mais marcou a minha época do PS2, eu realmente não me arrependo nem um pouco de ter gastado incontáveis horas com essa obra prima!
The open way always gets me, played it back on the PS2 ,the PS3 and finally on my PS4 and it didn’t lose its charm, every gamer should experience this masterpiece.
The feeling of fighting Valus for the first time, how fkn terrifying it was to watch its eyes turn blue to orange while turning around when I piss it off. I wish I could play this game again with no memory of it
My favorites theme is: *0:04**-Grotesque Figures* *2:01**-The opened way* *5:41**- Revived Power* *7:50** A Despair-Filled Farewell* Edit: But my favorites is The opened way and Revived Power they represent the game nice
I always thought it was interesting how colossi who were similar to each other shared the same themes. "Grotesque Figures" is shared by Valus and Barba, who are both minotaur-like creatures, "A Violent Encounter" is shared by Quadratus and Basaran who are both big, bulky, slow-moving quadrupeds, "Liberated Guardian is shared by Celosia, Cenobia and Kuromori who are the smallest and fastest-moving of the colossi and "Counterattack" is shared by Dirge and Phalanx who are both giant serpentine creatures that burrow into sand.
Thanks for putting these together. I play this compilation when I'm pulling all-nighters for deadlines. It makes me feel like I'm physically being chased by the colossi, hence making me work faster.
I love this game so much. It's definitely way up on my favorites list. The story, the design, the gameplay, the music, it's all amazing. I aspire to create a game that's even in the same league as this one day.
2:005:4113:40 that transition 😫 Edit: I was gonna just keep adding every time I heard a good transition but ever sound track in this video has a at least good transition into the next, great job on putting these together in the perfect way! 1st colossus was great, but hearing revived power after climbing the second colossus is breathtaking, and is when I realised how much I Really wanted to replay shadow of the colossus again and again
love how you presented this with the colossi eyes lighting up and everything :) personally love this OST as a godzilla fan, as the composer also did my favourite godzilla movie, GMK. if you ever want more of his stuff check it out, has more of that mystic sound with some electronic flair
All of the themes go so well together, they perfectly transition into one another, it doesn’t sound stitched (except for the end of the battle), and it’s just all so perfect as if it could be one theme altogether
Toda a Trilha sonora do Shadow of the Colossus é Perfeita !!!! Eu amo ❤❤, a melhor música do jogo pra mim e também é minha favorita é a The Opened Way !!!! Simplesmente incrível.
every time I hear this music (every few months) I feel like playing this fantastic game again... but then I also remember how tiring and frustrating it can be!!! But sooner or later I will play it and finish again !!! I love it !!!!!!!!!

I am playing this music every morning welcoming my kindergarten students to classroom. The music brings calmness as they enter and play quietly waiting for class to begin. Thank you.
xR3nGar El Cazador Nocturno Glad you like it ;D i can understand it a bit as i speak Portuguese, but is very hard for me to speak Spanish. Anyway I appreciate the criticism, Ko Otani is amazing!
The opened way is such a brilliant theme. I have tears whenever i hear this. A despair filled farewell theme is pretty good too. These two are my favourites songs of sotc
17:48 - Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins is my favorite, sounds so majestic when you’re fighting the 15 Colossus before facing the last. Plus I love all the battle, the music, background, the tatic used, the Colossus itself. It’s a enjoyment to play. 😌
A messenger from behind is DEFINETLY my favorite, the most scary song (after Black Blood) with the scarier colossus, which is Dirge, with him being the only one who uses this song in the entire game, so it's HIS song. So intense uugh ❤️ And thanks for the amazing work with the video, putting all the songs together with the idols images getting lit 👏👏👏
This was awesome of you to do! Question, what's your favorite colossus? Mine is Dirge, that chase scene with him staring you down is something I'll never forget. Cheers!
I’m happy you like it. ;D My favorite has got to be Avion, the battle arena, the music, the fog, the air... It all comes together perfectly, and i’m biased when it comes to flying characters, but do love Dirge as well. He comes in third place after Avion and Cenobia.
Avion is one of the best fights in the game, "A Despair Filled Farewell" had me choking up on my first time through the game, I never though I'd be on a BIRD, soaring through the skies at breakneck speeds. Such a shame that you have to kill them... The three Liberated Guardians (I'm sure you know who) are possibly the most deadly and I love them for it, Kuromori especially!
I'd say Basaran, and that's saying alot because I like his fight. I just feel like everything needs to be super precise, but I do like the concept of taking him down though! He's a bitch on Time Attack though, I'll say that.
Perfect. I love Shadow of the Colossus, and the OST is simply excelent, so thank you for sharing this, as the battle themes for this jewel of a game are amazing. Saludos desde México.
We need Kō Ōtani working together with From Software for a souls game, fighting the unsurmountable bosses in the souls games feels just as impressive and exciting as watching a colossus move towards you with their brigth orange eyes. beautiful depiction of David vs Goliath both in souls games and in SotC

This is great. The breakdown of the battles and their phases is something I didn't expect. Awesome job!
I am grateful for you noticing ;)
"The End of Battle" was make me cringed in tears after kill those "innocence" living-giant's roams the land... Oh my... What am I doin'?
Whether u did nothin to them like just standing there. They gonna go kill ya. I’ve tried once. Didnt work.
@@nemesis021 some are passive some are not
Almost all: *share his theme with 2 or more colossus*
Dirge and Argus in their first phases: *giant laugh intensifies*
You forgot Malus.
I think some eliminated colossus will share dirge and argus first phase themes
@@milanschacht2112
So dirge’s song will go to Sirius and Dionin, and Argus’s song will go to Devil and evis
My favorite pair of themes has to go to A Violent Encounter/Revived Power. There is simply nothing more insanely epic. I can literally feel the earth shattering when Revived Power kicks the fuckin door down. God almighty... thank you Kow Otani! And thanks for putting this together man! Keep it up!
You are welcome, i'm glad yu enjoyed it :) and yes, Thank you Kou Otani!
@Josh JeanJacket Jeager Damm that's actually really cool, i've forgot that part already, heh it's been too long, simply gorgeous.
this soundtrack is literally perfect

The open way always gets me, played it back on the PS2 ,the PS3 and finally on my PS4 and it didn’t lose its charm, every gamer should experience this masterpiece.
Agreed, i would suggest people to at least rent it to see if they dig it.
I legIt watched this ENTIRE thing, from beginning to end. That’s how much I love this game!
You are not alone... i love the soundtrack for this game.
Me too
The feeling of fighting Valus for the first time, how fkn terrifying it was to watch its eyes turn blue to orange while turning around when I piss it off. I wish I could play this game again with no memory of it
13:43 my jam
YES
FUCK YEAH.
love it most of all
Still love that TeamFourStar used it for the Shin Kikoho scene in DBZA. Perfect music for that moment.
2:01 my peanut butter
0:04 when mom/dad comes to your room with the belt
My favorites theme is:
*0:04**-Grotesque Figures*
*2:01**-The opened way*
*5:41**- Revived Power*
*7:50** A Despair-Filled Farewell*
Edit: But my favorites is The opened way and Revived Power they represent the game nice
9:54 My favorite. In awe of the power
Never noticed that, but cool!
Thanks for putting these together. I play this compilation when I'm pulling all-nighters for deadlines. It makes me feel like I'm physically being chased by the colossi, hence making me work faster.
For Phase Two themes you should've made them Orange.. that would be pretty cool to me.
That or just attack phases
Well, maybe next time. Thanks for watching!
@@LiberatedGuardian You did a great job ❤️🤠👍
Grotesque figures has ALWAYS been my favorite. It's so damn good and I always get so hype listening to is.
I love this game so much. It's definitely way up on my favorites list. The story, the design, the gameplay, the music, it's all amazing. I aspire to create a game that's even in the same league as this one day.
Dirge's eyes are naturally blue, but in the blattle when he is chasing you, they are orange like when we hit another colossi
I ain't even played this game yet and this OST moved me to tears. I need to play it now.
Yes, such powerful music it has.
9:10 - 9:30 is absolutely stunning
Shadow of the Colossus is totally a very well game and one of my favorites by far
2:00 5:41 13:40 that transition 😫
Edit: I was gonna just keep adding every time I heard a good transition but ever sound track in this video has a at least good transition into the next, great job on putting these together in the perfect way! Also make me feel like these soundtracks were designed to be easily transitioned into one another
I love demise of ritual, that shit feels dark, and I love it.
My guy thanks for finally adding the timemarks in the description!
17:39 essa música me passa uma sensação de que o sentinela realmente possui a noção do trabalho dele, que ele sabe ser o penúltimo colosso e que deve se defender
Words cant describe the amazing sheer epicness that the transition of the musics in 5:27 - 5:41 have, It's perfect!
the excitement and epicness for counterattack is second to none !
I love how the music and the setting can make a moment like that one so epic(reffering to Phalanx fight).
p
1st colossus was great, but hearing revived power after climbing the second colossus is breathtaking, and is when I realised how much I Really wanted to replay shadow of the colossus again and again
When A Despair-Filled Farewell sounds im like ooohh boi this is about to go down
This is honestly one of my favourite game’s soundtrack by far, it’s so deep, powerful and epic at the same time! I love it
the opened way is my favorite my tears can't stop raining oh i love this game so much
*Gives tissue*
love how you presented this with the colossi eyes lighting up and everything :) personally love this OST as a godzilla fan, as the composer also did my favourite godzilla movie, GMK. if you ever want more of his stuff check it out, has more of that mystic sound with some electronic flair
Like if you play this game and love it.
The controls; the "look".
All is perfect about this game.
A Wonderfull game
The controls are far from perfect
@@crispedhades9907 ikr lmao
7:51 my favorite
Yessss!! :3
Dude just looking at the icons for each of the colossi just sends shivers down my spine for how intimidating they look
2:01 - The Opened Way es la canción que me gusta ♥♥♥
¡Es asombroso! (me mejor español lol)
Esa me encanta y también la 8:43. :3
Holy shit, this was so well made, the eyes glowing showing which bosses the song applied to is quite awesome.
0:04 Grotesque Figures (Valus, Barba & Aberth)
2:01 The Opened Way (Valus, Gaius, Phaedra, Kyos, Argus, Pholux)
3:51 A Violent Encounter (Quadratus, Basaran, Adar Flam)
5:41 Revived Power (Quadratus, Barba, Aberth, Avus)
7:50 A Despair-Filled Farewell (Avion, Sirius, Kuromori, Celosia, Simius, Cenobia, Diomin)
9:56 In Awe of the Power (Gaius, Hydrus, Pelagia, Phalanx)
11:59 A Messenger From Behind (Dirge)
13:43 Counterattack (Dirge, Adar Flam, Phalanx, Avus)
15:39 Liberated Guardian (Sirius, Kuromori, Kyos, Celosia, Cenobia)
9:55 I absolutely love in awe of the power and it's respective bosses
dirge an angery boi
He needs to chill... he may end up hitting his face against walls or something with that much rage.
@@LiberatedGuardian you're right.
*Oh wait*
I mean... You have to shoot him in his eyes.
Dirge takes away SO MUCH damage
you know a game is good, when you can link the soundtrack to each individual Boss battle, and can see yourself playing the game while listening to the soundtrack, my favorite game of all time :D
And get intimidated by the soundtrack
Counterattack, a despair-filled fairwell and The opened way are my favourite ones
3:51 I love that you can hear genuine panic in Wander's voice when he calls for Agro
Either it's me, or A Despair Filled Farewell actually has a different pitch in this video. It sounds nice
I'm not sute, i didn't change the pitch for any of them but i raised the volume up a little bit, maybe it Is that?
i though was the only one
It’s sounds exactly like my PS2 game does lol
The opened way brings in so much memories.
The opened way is the best
I am playing this music every morning welcoming my kindergarten students to classroom. The music brings calmness as they enter and play quietly waiting for class to begin. Thank you.
I wish my teacher did that
xR3nGar El Cazador Nocturno Glad you like it ;D i can understand it a bit as i speak Portuguese, but is very hard for me to speak Spanish. Anyway I appreciate the criticism, Ko Otani is amazing!
Weno wey tienes razon
So intense uugh ❤️
And thanks for the amazing work with the video, putting all the songs together with the idols images getting lit 👏👏👏
This was awesome of you to do! Question, what's your favorite colossus? Mine is Dirge, that chase scene with him staring you down is something I'll never forget. Cheers!
I’m happy you like it. ;D
My favorite has got to be Avion, the battle arena, the music, the fog, the air...
MLG noscoper Indeed they are, but now you got me curious to whom is your least favorite. Althoug i still love Barba he is mine.
I'd say Basaran, and that's saying alot because I like his fight. I just feel like everything needs to be super precise, but I do like the concept of taking him down though! He's a bitch on Time Attack though, I'll say that.
MLG noscoper PTSD knocks at the door of my flashbacks of Basaran's battle, he is lucky I also like turtles...
These never gets old, no matter how much i listen.
I've been hearing to this game's ost since i was a little kid...
Imagine just walking around in some random desert cave irl and then you randomly here a messenger from behind start playing 💀
7:50 my favorite tense song
Perfect.
I love Shadow of the Colossus, and the OST is simply excelent, so thank you for sharing this, as the battle themes for this jewel of a game are amazing.
Saludos desde México.
Nostalgia pura!
thanks for putting all the songs in the game
We need Kō Ōtani working together with From Software for a souls game, fighting the unsurmountable bosses in the souls games feels just as impressive and exciting as watching a colossus move towards you with their brigth orange eyes.
beautiful depiction of David vs Goliath both in souls games and in SotC
Good lord above, everything about this game is perfect. The music, the journey, the battles. God I love it.
Um dos melhores vídeos que eu já vi, essa trilha sonora é incrível
