Absolutely. I know a lot of people young/old that have been waiting too. Also waiting for a model with the retro double round headlights. -It will happen - I just hope it's as well done as this GP.
If I had the money, this thing would be in my garage, especially as in New Zealand the pre orders get the bottom fairing for free. Great review please get it for a longer review
Yeah, for people like me that would love a sport bike but cannot give up the retro lifestyle, this is perfect, or beyond perfect. Doesn't hurt that I was watching when those guys - Wayne and Kevin - were going at each others throats back then, bit of nostalgia thrown in. Initially I was a little annoyed Yamaha are charging such a premium for that lower fairing though. Then again not sure the full sportbike look is better, different for sure, might even prefer the more naked one.
Lovely looking machine. Brings back great memories of the 80's and 90's. However like many have pointed out that lower optional fairing looks like an afterthought. The fit does not look quite right. I would wait for a better fitting and looking after market version if this bike was mine. And why offer a dull grey/black version. They should have offered it in the classic Sonauto/Gauloises [Cristian Sarron] colour scheme as well.
That is one of the sexiest bikes you can roll out of a showroom, IMO. A beautiful engine, wonderful on the road and that look... Great review, Thank You!
Now that’s a trip down memory lane for me wow and it’s got one of the best engines out there. Please take note Triumph who seem to have lost their way with silly firing orders on their triples.
I still own a uk spec TZR250 and love 80s sports bikes but not sure about this. I need to see one for real I guess. It needs the full system and bellypan for sure and im not a fan of the bar end mirrors either. I like the idea of an 80s sports bike with a modern engine and brakes though. Its seems expensive too🤔
What a ride! Dan, you trully sound inlove! ❤ she looks stunning! Super surprised with Garmin's free nav app. That will definately come in handy. Amazing scenery as well! Thanks for yet another beautifuly shot review! 😍
It looks like the factory workers knocked off early for the weekend before having finished fitting the fairing. Oh, I see why. Yamaha has listed it as an optional extra for an additional £599!
Perfectly gentleman’s cornering Dan. 👍Conceptually it is totally up my alley although I, as usual, wouldn’t be able to keep myself from turning into a unique special. I am however afraid it simply is too quick. It would constantly be dragging me over all legal limits. 😁
I think this is the kind of bike that you think you want but in practice the riding position and seat is a pain for anything beyond 60 minutes of riding and you end up not riding it as much as expected.
Nice review & a very pretty bike. Would love to own one. If definitely needs the Akra exhaust option looks wise imo, but I can't decide if I like the lower fairing on or off.
Fantastic looking bike and a modern take on the RD500 in a way, albeit a 4 stroke. I would have to go with the black and grey colours though, I would feel like a right sad old git riding those Marlboro colours at my age 😂🙈!!
Nice one Dan, what a fab opportunity and great review. I’m not sure i’m 100% sold on the front end & headlight but splitting opinion isn’t a bad thing. Def prefer the fully faired version and the higher Akra pipe though, it’s screaming for a black Marlboro sticker set on the side! 👍🏻😎. How do you find the new CP3 engine compares to the latest Triumph offering in the 765R/RS? Also intrigued, like a lot of 80’s bike if you’re able to store anything in that seat pod at the back?
Brillant vid i had first mt09 brillant but jerky 890 duke brillant bike just didnt trust it had singles and a v4 been considering new cbr600rr or a big litre bike from honda naked but this yammy looks the nuts ?
As a 2019 XSR900 owner, this bike just isn't ticking all the boxes for me. The rear and exhaust are ugly. Definitely needs the full fairing and Akrapovic. I'd probably take the new MT-09SP over this.
Nice review , Dan. Mine is hopefully coming in June. I have a Tracer GT+ and that uses Garmin Motorize which requires a subscription and doesn’t let me connect my iPhone 15. Hope the StreetCross is different.
I'm from Portugal, seen one of these in the gas station, couple days ago. Must say, a bit underwhelming, from the looks to the sound. Kind of weird, most bikes look better in life than on screen, this one was the other way around. It's still a good bike, but the price though, a bit steep, there's better bikes in that price range.
@@Englishbikerdan No, seriously, it often happens the other way around, the bike doesn't look that good on video, bit live is quite nice. I just took notice because with this "new" XSR it was the other way around. Sorry if I've offended you in any way.
gorg, but only without the full belly pan and the full exaust, the standard one looks terrible looks like they went into a scrap yard and found the ugliest piece of metal 🤣

I have to say, this is by far one of the prettiest looking bikes I have ever seen out of the factory! Especially the model with the lower fairing.
I’ve always wanted car manufacturers to do this! Proper cool bike
Absolutely. I know a lot of people young/old that have been waiting too. Also waiting for a model with the retro double round headlights. -It will happen - I just hope it's as well done as this GP.
Yamaha are creating fun and exciting bikes. I really like their direction.
Whatever the r9 looks like.
This looks better. Absolute stunner! 💯
If I had the money, this thing would be in my garage, especially as in New Zealand the pre orders get the bottom fairing for free. Great review please get it for a longer review
thats pretty crazy, is that just a NZ thing?
It's beautiful. Best looking retro bike of the year so far.
For a 900cc 4 stroke really has that Wayne Rainey formula 1 vibe
seriously drool over this bike

Excellent video Dan! Really enjoyed it. What a STUNNING motorbike 😍 I’d love to have a go on one 🤞🏻
Thanks man, it's a beauty!
A thing of beauty 😊
Sure is!
Congrats on churning out the videos like you said you would - proud of you! 🎉🎉🎉
Oh you! Thank you so much! ❤️
Great review Dan, this bike has it all!
Any talk of bringing this model to the US?
Nice Dan! You said next week you bugger... 😂
Ahahahh I was just wondering why Dan is first this time, usually he is among the last ones 🤣he played it clever this time
Haha yeah, was meant to be Daytona vid but my editor was on strike! 😂

Omg, that is a beauty! 😍
Already an icon today 😅👏🔥🏁
Looks better without the under fairing😩 more cafe racer✊🔥
‼️‼️ I can see a series for Yamaha ‼️‼️
I hope so!
Cool cafe racer ✊🔥🔥

Triumph are lagging I think.
Wow, beautiful bike!
What an awsome and beautiful retro bike from Yamaha! It looks cool too!^^👍💯🍀
Looks wonderful, but if only the initials were TZR.

Now that looks like a good day !😊
Well done yamaha. Retro racers are the new adventure bike. Just need a gsxr750 dressed in rgv cloths and a cbr600rr dressed in nsr rothmans clothes

Great review as always EBD. You are right, stunning motorcycle. 👍
Keep the reviews coming, you are just excellent!
Very cool looking bike. I was kind of surprised how high the seat-height is though.
Is it weird that I kinda wish this had some old school analogue clocks on it?
Not at all. I made the same comment!
Dang! That thing esp. with full fairing is fu**ing FIRE! Shame I cant afford it and am now to old and stiff to ride it lol
She's a real beauty definitely a bike I would consider. Cheers Dan
It looks like the factory workers knocked off early for the weekend before having finished fitting the fairing.
Oh, I see why. Yamaha has listed it as an optional extra for an additional £599!
Looks a lot like my Yamaha 1989 tzr250 in Marlboro ❤
Niceeeeeee!!! This bike is fricken lovely. 😍😍
Looks better with the belly pan. I hope yamaha brings this to the Philippines.

Awesome first thoughts Dan 🙂
Cheers dude!
Gorgeous
I think this is the kind of bike that you think you want but in practice the riding position and seat is a pain for anything beyond 60 minutes of riding and you end up not riding it as much as expected.
For a sportbike the ergos look pretty humane, IMHO. I view this bike as Japan's answer to the 916. Iconic first and foremost. Lovely.
It's not too bad tbh. We rode the whole day, with breaks and only the last 30mins or so got painful!
Great vid, love this bike, I might get one!
A range of GP colours special editions.
Nice review & a very pretty bike. Would love to own one. If definitely needs the Akra exhaust option looks wise imo, but I can't decide if I like the lower fairing on or off.
Beauty. I don't see the point of selling the bike without the belly pan other than charging the extra.
Some prefer it without, I am not sure which I prefer!

looks like a Paul Smart Duc. only better :) yeah old school awesome .
Great review, ya lucky...

This with the SP upgrade would be mint 🤌 maybe they're keeping that for a possible R9 SP.
I think R9 M would be the premium variant.
It needs the lower fairings.
A negative the lights at night?
We didn't test them at night, not really possible on these press launches. I should be able to get one back in the UK soon though!
I hope all the boomers buy it new and realise after one year that their wrists hurt from the clip ons and sell them cheap 🤑🤞
😂
Would this be a good bike for a returning rider? I used to ride a Ninja 650 as my first bike, but I had to sell it a year and a half ago
Great video, Dan! Lovely bike, really fell in love a bit. Would sell my 2020 XSR 900 for it… Thank you for that review! ♥️
It is called in Japan, “pekeshiru”.
All yamaha xsr family tests please
Big con: not announced for USA 😢
It's coming!
As a 2019 XSR900 owner, this bike just isn't ticking all the boxes for me.
The rear and exhaust are ugly. Definitely needs the full fairing and Akrapovic.
I'd probably take the new MT-09SP over this.
Stop teasing. We’re not getting it here in the States
Why don’t they all have the belly pan fairing ?
Because they can sell it to you. :)
Annnd we can’t get it in the US… fuck
Nice review , Dan.
Mine is hopefully coming in June. I have a Tracer GT+ and that uses Garmin Motorize which requires a subscription and doesn’t let me connect my iPhone 15. Hope the StreetCross is different.
Nice one, StreetCross is completely free. No subscription needed! Enjoy the bike!
Check you out Mr fancy pants, getting out there on these top review places.😊 well done Dan!!
Haha, there's a not much fancy about me! 😂
@@Englishbikerdan hehehe
Yamaha nearly nailed it! Looks are bang on. Sound? meh. Oh, and it needs a round headlight! They got so close!
Sound is incredible onboard. Yeah, round headlight would be awesome. Maybe double rounds!
Yamaha builds us those beautiful bikes to distract us from the fact that there is still no R9 this year.
This bike is a step towards that I believe.
I hope r9 doesn’t have the cyclops headlight design language that this and the r7 have
Who cares about the R9 when Yamaha sells this !
head light is poop, still want one
Yamaha's gonna keep us waiting for an R9 forever, aren't they?
Let's put it this way. After riding this bike, I'm more excited about the R9.
We all have our own opinion, but are you high!? 😁
@@Englishbikerdan No, seriously, it often happens the other way around, the bike doesn't look that good on video, bit live is quite nice. I just took notice because with this "new" XSR it was the other way around. Sorry if I've offended you in any way.
day 3768 of waiting for the R9...
Yamaha is reaching into Hondas playbook for this .... F NORTH AMERICA ! NO BIKE FOR YOU.
gorg, but only without the full belly pan and the full exaust, the standard one looks terrible looks like they went into a scrap yard and found the ugliest piece of metal 🤣
A bike only a mother would love💩💩💩
Is there anyone else that thinks this thing is ugly. I just can't see what the attraction is.
Harley rider per chance?
@@MTBrider26 ZX4RR and 2 Harley's.
I'm sorry but it looks like a dog's dinner to me.
