- I nearly drove past this abandoned old dresser, and at times during the makeover, I wish I had. But I am so pleased with how these drawers turned out and even more so, they have found a place in a home that will use them for years to come. I had sold most of my tools as I was about to move from one side of the world to the other, this meant I had to make do with the small amount of basic tools I had access to. This was my last furniture makeover in New Zealand before heading to the UK.

I look forward to hearing your experiences with different products available in one country or the other. As for the move, well done you. My husband is from another country and I have been offering since our kids were preteens to move to his country. Well now our kids are in university he and I are finally considering the move. Our kids while happy were they are, wish they had the opportunity to live in a different country.
Thank you for sharing, although you didn't move when your kids were younger, it's good to hear they wish they had had the opportunity. We do have a mixed feelings about taking our son from one country to another. But yes, I am sure he will be grateful for the experiences he will have. If you do decide to move, I wish you all the best with it. Good on you for being so open to it all along, it's not an easy thing to do and it's certainly not for everyone!
Oh my goodness, how beautiful! In the US we see a lot of painted/natural wood pieces. I love this a lot, very stunning! Good luck on the move. That's a big deal but an awesome family adventure! BTW... My motto 😊, there's always someone with something negative to say. Just let that roll off your back like water on a ducks back 😂. Everybody has an opinion 😮. lol i hear ya with the wood purists...not every piece of furniture is a museum piece...furniture is built to be used...some should be natural but some should be painted...looks great!

Thank you, most of the paints I have used are around a similar price point and I would say mid range. What country are you in? Fusion mineral paint is not initially at a budget price point but it goes the furtherest in my experience.

I restored antiques for 25 years professionally as a living.. I wish people would just SHUT up about painting furniture!! they are the types who complain about it, yet their house is filled with Ikea, Walmart and BOBs discount furniture crap, they don't restore it themselves, they don't buy antiques, Heck most of them won't even pick it up off the curb, they just gripe and whine, if painting gives it a second chance to NOT end up in a landfill...then you furniture flippers keep rocking that paint!
because not all of them are worth anything in the state they're in or even if in great shape, and we know the discontent who think every piece is worth a fortune because its old wood or think dovetailed drawers are a sign of quality furniture. aren't showing up anyway to buy even if properly restored.
