- In this TH-cam video, I restore painted and woodworm infested drawers. I strip and upcycle this piece of furniture to its former glory. I'll cover the necessary steps, from treating the woodworm infestation to repairing any damaged areas and refinishing the dresser. Whether you're dealing with a similar issue or simply want to learn more about furniture restoration, this video will hopefully provide a few helpful easy-to-follow tips.

Carl, love your channel and your work. Also love listening to you talk. 🤣 Looking forward to more great videos.
Thank you you so much mate, I really appreciate your support!! The accent seems to be of interest to many 😂😂
Your tenacity paid off! It was wise to walk away, recharge and take a breather❤
Well done you for sticking with it, I’d have thrown in a skip before you had got to the patch ups! 😂
I feel like I came close at times 😂😂 Thank you
I admire your perseverance and workmanship. Paint is never my first choice, but I’m pretty sure I’d have gone there with this one. Kudos!
Thank you very much, I came close to painting but pleased a saw it through!
You have done a great job Mate, loved the matching paint process Thank's for the share and have a nice day all . !!!. Brain UK !!!. 😀😀😀👍👍👍.
Us Aussies are not normally complimentary to you Kiwi's but mate you did a FREAKING AMAZING job. I have managed a joinery making high quality timber joinery and I don't think we could of done any better. In fact I think the stigma of working with something less than perfect would have prevented us even giving it a go. I am trying to flip some furniture now and I am so in awe. On ya Cole!! 👍
Cheers boss, appreciate the encouragement! I lived your way for 15 years and have not long moved back to NZ. Missing a lot about the place! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, might hit you up for a job when I'm back over there ;)
@flipitnation Hi Cole, what sort of work/industry are you in? Just curious, something telling me to ask lol
Sorry mate, have only just seen your response!! I owned a couple of cafes in Australia and then got into ecommerce focusing on online retail. But I’ve always enjoyed working with tools and actually got offered a carpentry apprenticeship about 8 months ago but the wages that come with that were a small hurdle I couldn’t quite swallow at this point in my life. Got into flipping furniture/content creation instead and it’s changed my life. Hope the furniture flipping is going well for you, pretty satisfying when you give something a new lease on life, and some good pocket money if you decide to sell your pieces 😉 Cheers 🍻
The dresser came out great but that little boy is such a cutie. Enjoy these years while you can because I can tell you from experience in the blink of an eye they suddenly are adults, and you're wondering where did the years go. In 1982 I went to Antarctica with the National Science Foundation and had the absolute pleasure to spend time in Christchurch. It is such a beautiful city. I hope someday to be able to return for another visit. Greetings from Northern New Jersey, USA
That sounds like an epic story, not many can say they have been to the South Pole. What an awesome experience that must have been. Recently I sold a piece of furniture to a couple that worked in Antarctica - they worked in hospitality and ran the bar. I guess everyone needs a beer at the end of the day when the work is done! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment :)
Great job on disguising the wood worm damage xx
Thank you very much 👌🏼
You’ve got a good eye with picking out furniture for sure
Hi,
The dresser looks great.Really nice job.
Thanks
Wood worms damage is the worst! But you’ve managed to save the project!
You did a great job. It was a mess when you got it; but I love that you like a challenge.
I thought the wood worm damage might be the end! But you actually nailed it with your solution! Excellent restoration and beautiful outcome! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent! 😊
The new brass handles look great with the color of the stain you used and the shape of the handles complements the style of the dresser. Very nice!!
WOW! BEAUTIFUL!
Hey Cole, I have just binge watched all your video's when I really should be working. I love your content and enjoy watching your process! I'd love to see a little more about the budget ie: purchase, cost of materials and then the sale price, I'm sure others would too and I think it'd make a nice little addition to your videos. Cheers.
Great video! Great restoration. Thanks for sharing;. George from Florida, USA
I liked it so much that I went and subscribed to this channel and hit Like on the Video.
Bro it looks mean! Painting over the borer filler was genius.
Hi from the Hutt! Keep up the great work
Wow. I’m very impressed with what you did there. It’s gorgeous now. Great job hiding all that damage.

Hi Young Kiwi fella, I’m new to your channel. I’m from across the ditch. Melbourne to be exact. I get so amazed at all you chaps who can turn a piece of revulsion into a thing of beauty! Well done, mate! It was a hard slog but you got there in the end. Yeah, really well done. I can’t help myself! I’m a born recycler and you fit the bill to a T. I love your little fella. What’s his name? He makes a nice little interlude, whilst you scratch your…. Head, as to what to do next. I’m sold! I’ll be back for more. Good luck. I hope you can turn it into a profitable bizzo, 😮🎉❤️🦘
Gidday, I spent the last 15 years in Australia and the last 5 were in your neck of the woods! Great spot, miss it alot! The little guy is called Sonny, keeps me very busy when not sanding my knuckles to the bone. Thanks heaps for tuning in, love the support! Cheers
Great transformation
Nice touch on the dovetailed joints
A-Flippen-Mazing job of saving this dresser from the landfill.
You've definitely been able to evolve your skill set!
Love seeing you share a bit of your bouncing baby boy. He's a cutie... stay safe, happy and healthy!
Hello from Southern California USA 🇺🇲
Thank you very much, yes this piece certainly tested my skills and I learnt a lot!! Cheers for tuning in and taking the time to comment. Hey from NZ, stay well!
Watching you remove the pain this way is very satisfying to the viewer. Whatever works, smarter not harder, right? Great job!!
💜💜💜Very Nice job!
Thank you very much :)
Beautiful restoration
Beautiful work, 👍♥️
You did an amazing job! Your determination and skills are admirable.
(Your Assistant is a littlest clumsy…but very cute!)
Thank you very much, very kind of you. Yes, lucky his cuteness makes up for his clumsy chubby baby fingers 😂
Great job! Love your channel. You'll grow quickly.
Thank you for tuning in again! I decided to start narrating again after your comment on the last one. I think it’s my preferred style too 😎
New to this Channel and i like what i see, that is very nice makeover off this Dresser ! It is looking nice and solid again and almost chic ! It is very satisfying to watch this makeover and like the more modern twist on this piece. Thank you for sharing and see you on the next video. Greets from The Netherlands !

That was an awesome transformation! I bought a wardrobe from Trade Me and found it has borer in the rear. I no longer need it and want to flip it, so this video was helpful. Keep up the good work, from Whangaparaoa 🙂
TradeMe is hit and miss isn't it, also though so much more reliable and less frustrating than fb marketplace. "is this available?" Thank you for watching :)
Unbelievable. Great job.
That’s amazing
It came out beautiful.
Great save! The transformation is amazing, well done!
Been binging your videos man keep up the great work!
Good save!
Thank you very much!
Awesome! What a difference!
There is also another beeswax product called Howard's Beeswax. I think that's what it's called. It apparently has an orange fragrance n is popular with a couple of furniture restorers. Nice job, btw. 😊
Thank you very much, I’ll look that one up and give it a go!
Unbelievable 🎉
What an amazing save.
You did a beautiful job. 😊
Thank you very much 😎
God it's gorgeous now. So different to how it started and I absolutely LOVE the new hardware. A lot of work. Well done.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! 😎👌🏼
Nice handles it all nice
Greetings from Florida! Where I've never seen woodworm in furniture, thank goodness! Wonderful save on this poor dresser! The pulls are quite elegant and look fantastic.
Hey there in Florida! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, yes woodworm is nasty!!
Kudos to you for refinishing the wood on this one. I would probably just have painted it black over all that wood filler. Well done.
Thank you very much, I came close to painting!
AMAZING JOB!! Wow from a piece that was so damaged to bring it back to life, is simply AWESOME. Greetings from Australia. (Angela).
Hey Angela, thank you for tuning in and taking the time to comment! I hope all is well over the ditch, I spent 15 years over there and hope to return in the coming years 😎
Thanks!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support. Very considerate and kind of you, stay cool 😎
Ha ha being a Kiwi you'd understand why I giggled. My closed captions translated your snug fit to snug fat. I suppose only an Aussie with Kiwi relos would understand the fun. I'm going to have to watch more with captions on.
Do you look for pieces you need or can flip quick or are a challenge? Either way I love watching 😊
Great question, started out filling my home, soon flipping for profit and now I only do pieces for the sake of making TH-cam content. Very much just for the love of it these days! Thank you for watching :)
❤❤❤
Yeah looks good to me ,I don’t think you waisted your money on the heat gun it took the worst off ,I think that was the best way to go,this is the first I’ve seen from you and now I’m a subscriber good luck mate hope to see many more.
Isn't if fun with the borer spray when you spray in one hole and it mists out a half a dozen other hole from the interconnecting tunnels? :D Good job, kia ora from Taranaki...
Nice rescue but in this case I think it would have looked better with a contemporary paint finish
Painting certainly would have been easier. I saw this as more of a challenge and a good learning curve. Maybe the new owner will choose to paint it. Thank you for watching
Lazarus risen from the dead
The audio dropped so badly on this that I had to give up.
Sorry about that, technology isn’t always kind to me. Learning as I go :)
Customisation Is not restoration
