I've never seen anything like this makeover!! I'm speechless! Your son is at (in my motherly opinion) one of the best stages!!! He's beyond adorable!!!
Incredible imagination and excellent workmanship. Thanks for sharing.I would also like to point out that your son is very cute. God bless him. MAŞALLAH
Thank you very much, really appreciate it! And yes, he is a cute little fella :)
Dark stain was unexpected but very sharp, made the piece even more appealing. Happy to see you’re getting time in the sun, too
Cheers mate, I was pleased the dark stain worked out. Always a moment of doubt as it first goes on! Good to see the sun finally!
You have outdone yourself!!!! What a creative and wonderful cabinet!! Sonny once again was a show stealer 😂. He is such a happy little guy 😍
Thank you, it was nice to try something different - pleased it worked out! Sonny says hello and thank you :)
And now for the project post - that is a lot of solid oak! What a find. This type of cabinet would have made the storage of VHS tapes handy for homes. DVD storage capacity would have quadrupled the number of options in the same cabinet in later years. Now, with this beautiful new
face, this piece can have a new life as a dry bar, mini library cabinet, or crafts center moving seamlessly into the decades to come.
Thank you, hopefully it find a new home that will find a good use for it :) Cheers for tuning in!
Very unique makeover. I love it !! What a precious son you have. So cute!
This is absolutely amazing. I love the new stain, and the brass inlay is just the pop it needed. The stain is just the perfect tone for this project-too pale would’ve looked cheap, and a much darker color like mahogany would’ve been trying too hard to make it look more expensive. The chevron pattern looks great with the beautiful wood grain.
Sonny is just too cute! The music of a child’s laughter is such a blessing. Give him a cuddle for me.
Thank you so much, a very thoughtful comment :) I appreciate you taking the time, and I will indeed give Sonny a big cuddle for you ☺
I love my antiques but I’m really liking this style you had designed. I’m a big lover of oak wood n this piece is a beauty. Very creative. To take an old crib n turn a cabinet into one in a million. I’m very impressed.
Loved seeing your son seeing himself on a video. There’s a saying that we must learn to laugh at ourselves. He’s definitely done that. He’s a real cutie. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟
You could do such fun things with that cutter! I'm a quilter, so that is the first thing that comes to my mind.
Your little fella is gorgeous, mate. I love listening to babies laughing. Lol. 😅
Lovely....and the cabinet too.😊 Sonny is adorable, he has a lovely laugh. 😂
Look at you go mate ! Stunning job and very creative use of the laser
When you brought out your materials, I couldn’t imagine how you were going to combine them. It turned out beautifully! Great job.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment :) Pleased you enjoyed the result!
Wow, that's such a unique front you did. I've never seen anything like that. It looked great. The oak came up beautifully - I love your stain choice.
That went from beautiful to pretty.
This piece is a work of art and delightful to watch unfold. I was watching you work with low sound while watching the news on tv at the same time so the reveal was a beautiful surprise. 😂😅 I also love making something using something else rather than tossing it out so well done.
Thanks Cole it made me smile when I heard my name and especially your baby’s laugh
No worries Josh, thanks for keeping me entertained while I'm working! Sonny say hey :)
This turned out very beautiful! I love it! Your son is a DOLL!❤
What a beautiful baby, and hearing him laugh was a treat for this old lady ❤❤
Absolutely stunning, baby and cabinet! The only change I'd make is to use two screws for those magnificent handles you made. Enjoy your work very much.
We LOVE this piece my clever boy🤗. How much prouder can we get 💙
What a cool build! I enjoyed your reuse of the crib slats. I didn’t know lasers could cut that deep!
🥹ohmygawd wait … am I-I’m older than DVDs!?!? 😂 I’ve never thought of it like That! 😂 That is So funny lol!
This made me laugh!! It always blows my mind when I'm speaking to 20-something year olds and they mention they were were born in 2001 or something, I feel like they should only be 5 years old. Then I very much feel my age 😂
@@flipitnation same here, I have a sister that was born in 2002, I’m 10 years older than her! It’s just weird to me how I can remember her entire life. 😅 And now she’s an adult with a house a boyfriend and pets of her own, I might just turn into dust when/if she decides to have kids!😂
I just love what you did with this piece. Amazing job.
Sonny in stitches at himself is the cutest thing…honest, grown up laughter from such a tiny little man. 🤣😍
And I think this piece is your nicest yet. Looks expensive in my opinion! 👏🏻👏🏻 great job!
Oh thank you! I really appreciate that 🤗 It's heart warming to see Sonny laugh so hard, pure joy ☺
What a beautiful creative design! I love it! Turned out gorgeous! 😊❤
Absolutely Gorgeous! I love the handles! Thanks so much for sharing
That as come up a right treat you should be very proud of yourself and you young lad is so cute
I love Frankenfurniture! I don't know why more people don't take advantage of free stuff like armoires, etc. because the wood is fabulous for repurposing and combining with other pieces. Beautiful custom design.
Frankenfurniture - love that!! Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for tuning in!
Wow that turned out amazing! The dark stain looks great.
My goodness, that baby is ON THE GO 🏃♂💫💓
Wow, I wasn’t feeling it as you were making the front pattern, but this turned out beautifully
Ya can't help but laugh when Sonny laughs 😂 the tiles turned out fabulous
DANG! That's an epic remodel!! I bet it's even heavier now than it was, though. Great work. Subscribed.
Remarkable! Well done!👏👏👏👏
I can’t believe the end result. I like the dark stain and the chevron design.
You’re so creative! That piece had good bones to begin with, but now it’s full of personality too.
Gorgeous! Loved the pattern and the handles. Great upcycle of the cot. And of course your son is just precious! That laugh😂. Exciting to see what you will come up with for the challenge!
Thank you, glad you liked it. The challenge piece is underway, probably the biggest piece size wise I have worked on so fingers crossed I can conquer it!
Really enjoyed the video. It was lovely to see your son laughing so much. Best wishes Alison
Отличный результат!))
Another awesome piece Cole! Love the resourcefulness and using the laser to do your cuts, the pieces were spot on!! 🤩😍👏
Truly amazing up-cycle design. Great use of the old crib, wow! Looks so cool.
Now who would have thought of that brilliant idea🎉❤lot of work but gorgeous 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was tickled when I saw Lydia Millens book !! I love her!
My wife is a huge fan of Lydia too. And I would be lying if I said Ali Gordon wasn't playing on my TV as I write this. Very entertaining couple!
Lavoro fantastico👏👏👏👏
A very handsome piece. And real functional. Love the brass touches on the handles. Carol from California
Even though i am a scandi i like the dark satin on this 😄 Great job 👍
Sensational job buddy. I’m loving the handles you made, very imaginative and a great use of the laser. Also the video Edit was spot on and your little lad is a superstar 😀👍👍
I'm in Awe this is gorgeous
New sub for sure
Another great one...youve moved on , not just painting furniture now.what satisfaction .great work.youre one of the few i watch from start to finish....do you follow Andy on Modern Makeovers.👍👍
Always keen to try new things, hopefully keeps it interesting for you guys too! Andy has one of my most favourite channels on YT, such a talented guy!! Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate hearing that you enjoy my videos :) Cheers!
Hey Kiwi, I could not see that coming. How creative you are. Can't wait for the trash to treasure video. I know that will be fun. I found you on the MCM challenge and I know this one will be equally enjoyable to watch.
Thank you so much! I am excited for the challenge too, so fun to see what everyone does. Cheers for tuning in again 🤗🤗
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice Transformation! It Has a Little bit of an Art Deco Feel to it. Nice Color. Better then that Yellow Shade. I Keep Thinking it Does Need Something more. Maybe some sort of Trim in Between the Tiles? Your Furniture Inspector was Hard at Work Today (Okay, Maybe a Little Distracted). 👶👶
I'd love to attempt a more intricate design next time, a trim between the tiles would have been really nice! The young lad was a bit distracted, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and have him back for another job ;) Cheers for watching!
laser is a good tool, but burn during the cuts.
You admit to using the METRIC SYSTEM???!!!?!!!! That was two and a half strikes right there buddy. If that didn't come out looking like a million dollars, I was going to give you a THUMBS DOWN. Next time, use good old fashioned inches like God intended ---or at least hide your ruler from your American audience.
Wow! I hope you kept that for yourself. The only thing that might have added value is those wine glass holders, a mirrored back or felt on the bottom of some or all of the shelves. Storing booze is the perfect use for that.
And lastly the crowning touch was putting a proper finish on it. A lot of your competitors do such wonderful work but they don't seal it up with a good protective coat to protect their work from daily use.
I will burn my metric ruler at the stake immediately and swear allegiance to the almighty inch from now on 😂 NOT. No, I won't be hiding it my from my American audience - who until you, have never had a problem with it. 95% of the world uses the metric system. I am pretty sure America is now the only industrialised county that doesn't use it as the predominant system of measurement, however it is still widely used there. But who cares? First world problems.
I’ve gotta say this. I am subscribed to a broad variety of woodworking and restoration channels, but I’ve reached my upper tolerance level, where “skilled craftsmen” have become nothing more than the operators of computer controlled lasers or CNC equipment. I’m going to be unsubscribing from all of them because they’re no longer interesting, educational, or relaxing. Entering cutting parameters into a computer, placing wood on the unit’s table, pressing a button, and then removing the finished product from said unit, is not a display of skill. It is manufacturing.
I’ve gotta say this. As a TH-cam creator who spends hours upon hours creating free content for his viewers, it’s a shame you can’t tolerate a couple of minutes (occasionally) that bring a creator some income to feed their family and keep a roof over their heads. This project in particular took me over 30 hours to make, if you think the laser made it all by itself, you must have watched with your eyes closed. Your comment is entitled and I would be delighted if you unsubscribe from my channel.
@@flipitnation it seems you’ve missed my point. My comment has NOTHING to do with my not appreciating the effort and time required to produce TH-cam content. I am very appreciative of that. My hope, in posting my critique, was that you would take it as constructive criticism. Immediately after unsubscribing from your channel, I began watching a new video from another creator of very similar content. I was enjoying his video until he produced the “now seemingly mandatory” laser promotion….complete with unboxing and all sorts of technical specifications….oh my, what an amazing piece of equipment, everyone should have one! Sorry…to me this is nothing but “fingernails on a blackboard”, so he’s off my subscription list too. I genuinely hope your channel prospers….but it’s no longer one that I enjoy.
And with that response, it is clear you have missed my point. My channel will prosper, without the likes of entitled people like you. Who I am guessing, doesn’t even pay for TH-cam premium so as you don’t have to watch the TH-cam ads. Instead, you sit there grumbling in your chair, going to town on your keyboard, giving uneducated “constructive feedback” to all of those that create what you refer to as the screech of fingernails down a blackboard. Seriously dude, read the room.
Sonny laughing at his own comical antics is pure joy. I am reminded of the overwhelming number of Hollywood actors that claim to never watch themselves on film and think what a shame it is that we lose the ability to view things without judgement. He alone is proof that you and your wife do exceptional things.
Such a thoughtful comment, thank you so much :)
