  • Micro Swiss NG™ Direct Drive Extruder
    This extruder overcomes the shortcomings of all current counterparts on the market, to create an optimal printing experience for everyone.
    With the Bevel Gear design, we are able to achieve the industry shortest filament path (less than 41mm). The unique motor placement allows for highly compact, low overhang design. This further increases system rigidity.
    Features:
    Lightweight
    - 3:1 Gear ratio
    - Adaptable to wide range of 3D Printers
    - Hardened steel, precision cut Dual Gear drive
    - Industry shortest, highly constrained, TwinClad XT™ plated filament path
    - Bevel Gear system allows a low overhang extruder mount
    Made in USA by Micro Swiss

    Looks like an interesting product. Please consider dialing down the music next time, the music is very distracting and is at times louder than the talking, sometimes even while Paul is talking.

    That mounting bracket could be made lighter by some inner triangle cut outs.

    • @altarace

      On a CR10 V2/V3 the X-axis timing belt needs to be replaced for a longer one by about 3 in. Also, blower fan will not fit the delivered printed shroud. otherwise easily installed.

    does this work better with the older Direct Drive from MicroSwiss? I have tpu being pushed between the sprockets because the ptfe ( AND the Blue tubing )-if swapped out and cut to length) get pushed away where the tpu should just slide in, therefore it curls up and ends up between the direct drive gears.

    Will the existing all metal hot ends be compatible? Going to be upsetting since I just recently purchased one. If they are compatible, when will a model without the hot end included be available for purchase?

    • @baird1fa
      @baird1fa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It looks like it is an all metal hotend all in one. Similar to the Hemera or bondtech LGX for flexibles. So you wouldn’t need the existing hotend.

  • @idig3d

    Interesting, what’s the weight with and without the shroud? What’s the throat look like? Threaded or set screws?

      NG Extruder: 76.3g
      Stepper Motor: 150.9g
      Ender3 Adaptation Plate: 34.8g
      All Metal Hotend: 15.5g
      Printed Fan Shroud: 30.3g
      Hotend Fan: 10.5g
      Part Cooling Blower Fan: 12.9g
      The thermal tube sets in place with the set screw.

    What kind of spare nozzle should I order when ordering a Micro Swiss NG to match the one included?
    What's are the specs, 0.4 and a MK8 you guys have a lot of different nozzles?
    The shroud that are included does a 4020 fan fit in there?

    • @MicroSwissLLC
      @MicroSwissLLC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any MK8 nozzles will work. The kit comes with MK8 .4mm brass plated nozzle. You can use A2 or M2 MK8 nozzles as well.
      No, the 4020 fan is too wide, it will need a custom fan shroud design.

    Nice product but sadly out of my price range for my hobby. It just seems so expensive for a 3d Printer, it's over half the price of an Ender 3. I just don't understand why manufactures think these high prices will sell well in this cut throat industry. I mean I only paid $90 for my RepRap Guru i3 printer because they went out of business. I snagged a Micro-Swiss heater block and that did improve my print jobs but I snagged in on sale. To me $40-60 is a sweet spot for a hotend solution but there is probably no profit in that price point.
