    Your chat around the sums is very interesting. That's a whopper saving. I'd imagine that would more than cover the repayments on a new machine like that? A video on the future changes in Agri and agro contracting you see coming down the line would be interesting. Even getting uncle Ian and Father Phil to have a discussion on future trends. Topics like the cost of diesel/new machinery v old machinery/change in faing methods due to cost would be very interesting. And where you would like things to go for you in 15/20 years time. Cheers

    That Kubota does definitely look like a serious machine. Saw a 7171 in Atkins a while back and thought they were definitely underrated.

    Have been discussing your video here around the kitchen table ( rained off) and we have been changing our tractors for new for ALOT of years now and bar for a few years when diesel was cheap almost always we have saved most of the repayment in diesel twenty years ago a 150 hp tractor would use about 25 litres an hour jump forward five models and we are on 11 litres an hour on average across all work mostly a fusion 3 or a 3500gal tanker ( splash plate) did some tillage work and a few days ploughing with a 5 sod reversible basically she has 2450 hours up and has used 26317 litres of fuel, just under 11 litres an hour according to the computer on board. We have other but she is the only 4 cylinder and she won't be the last. We choose her over the 7715 S as she has a far better lock and was supposed to be more economic to run also the boost kicks in before you get under pressure. There comes a point when you have to bite the bullet and start to upgrade your gear if you want to grow a business, old gear has its place but not if you need a machine to do 2000 hours a year keep it for 3 or 4 years and move her on you will find that she will only cost about €10 an hour for M and R and depreciation add this to the diesel and driver and you have your basic cost of the tractor per hour and can price jobs accordingly, we have upped our rates for baling wrapping but not as much as I would have if we were still baling with a tractor that used 15 or 16 litres an hour. By next season we hope to have 3 150 to 200 hp four cylinder machines in our fleet and this from a guy who thought that a four pot machine would be gutless, when you're wrong you're wrong.

    I was in Gurteen Ag Col in 1972.My father had a Peugeot 404,it had a stick shift up near the steering wheel.which was very sensitive, so when he changed gear with his Henry Cooper (ask dad) left hook, I never knew which direction it would go. The 404 was a great courting car. Kubota are very popular in USA.

  • @nsgkuaov
    @nsgkuaov 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Bought a 6715S. last year she has proven to be a very good tool for the baler and shocking economic we have put about 1000 hours of baling on her and we reckon she has save us her repayments on the baling alone and as far as the lock is concerned she turns on a tuppence. You should have a look.

    The new tractor is not at its full fuel usage or power because she still needs to open up a bit after its 100 or 200 hour service then it should be at its full power and fuel usage

    In theory, yes especially in todays market and the cost of fuel, using a big 4 cylinder appears to be the better choice but in reality that engine will never see high hours, i imagine the maths is close once all considered but I would go with reliability all day long and I believe a six cylinder would be the best pick

      Ypu wrong the modern 4 cylinders are as reliable as a 6
      a good friend has a mf 6616 with 15 thousand hours on it with hardly any bother

      @@davay42 I suppose, I am definitely a bit biased on the topic but time will tell with these newer machines and do they compare to tractors such as the MF135
