M7 is a cracking tractor. The one and only issue they had was the whole exhaust stack detaching. This was due to the exhaust manifold being attached to the engine with 8mm bolts which were way to weak for the job and shearing. Best of luck.
Yes Phil we had the same front end weight problem with a JD 6400 when using an Accord one pass which I think was around two and a half tons, a 3 mtr Ransomes seed drill for the fertilizer converted to fit the front linkage plus ballast in the front tyres was the answer.
Buy one Phil you will never regret it, once kubota get established in Ireland the will majorly take off and increase in price, get in on the ground floor, here in the states they run 0% finance, not sure what they are doing at home in 🇮🇪
The Kubota engine is a very large capacity for a 4 cylinder, something like 6.5 liters. Long stroke, large bore engine, easily capable of putting out a lot more power.
Just for the record the 17 is the Horse power (think it boosts to 175) the 3 is the third model in the series. So there was a 171 a 172 and the latest is a 173. We have a 152 same tractor except 150 HP boosting to 170. These are cracking tractors at a great price and we have a 5yr warranty.
Farmer Phil have you tried breathing in some Salts and are you getting some honey lemon juice for that Cold 🥶 Hope you start feeling better soon.Tell liv to try that for you .All the best.☘️☘️🍀🌻🌻🌻🌻🤞
Kubota is one of the best tractor out there. We run three of them on 2k acres and have no problems with them. I do like massey but it isn't the newer ones. We have different stays on our 3 pts over here. We use case and Kubota they both do a great job especially with the work we do . Great video phil, but for the last time phil ka-boata 🤣🤣🤣
That lower link latch system is a factory option on the MF tractors and you can buy it from Kramp dealers and probablyVAP and Spares as well, or ‘genuine’ MF. Can be fitted to one or to both lower links. The other option on MF is to attach the standard stabilisers to the optional hole in the bracket under the axle that is offset from the lower link inner pivot. This tightens and centralises the linkage as the links are raised. The main thing to watch there is not to adjust the stabilisers tight at the bottom of linkage travel or with this set-up it will bend and break something when the links are lifted. While it works perfectly when set properly, it is not idiot-proof.
Looking at the back end of that Kubota I thought it looked very very Massey style, the arms, the lift adjusters and the Dromone hitch all looks like it almost came of a 6270, also completely agree with you Huw about the Massey standard stabilisers, they work perfectly but are not for idiots, stabiliser pin in the top hole under axle tightens the arms as you lift, bottom hole doesn't tighten them and it works brilliantly for holding a plough steady on the headlands when you lift and lets her move side to side when ploughing but you need to know how to set it up
@@madeljacky At least there’s two of us who know how to set it up. Great if it’s a one man tractor but for the reason that it is easy to mis-set the stabilisers, I prefer the CBM or Waltersheid, whichever brand makes them, auto stabilisers as seen in the video. I once had a JD 6200 with one and did try getting some for my MF7490 many years ago but the ones I tried were for shorter lower links so were not suitable for my particular tractor. Since I’m not a massive user of the three point linkage these days, mainly for a 3.2m mowcon and large fertiliser spreader, neither of which need any free swinging at all, I’ve not spent the money for the better stabs.
Hi there wouldn’t have any fear of 4 cyl high horse power have been running valtras here for 10 year now. Have a n163 and she has given a mf 6718 a good run for her money on haulage and field work as for fuel usage if you are using the horses they going to use the diesel. N 163 on fusion we would be getting a good 3 bales per litre as for the gagues showing litre per hour I’d be be inclined to see what the use at end of day before coming to a conclusion
All fine and we'll for us to say it Phil, but..... Based on what seems to be said in articles and you've shown us I'd say ye need to seriously sit down and consider changing even one of the 6290's for a high powered 4 pot. That Kubota looks very well, or maybe consider valtra over a massey, they seem better specced? Those fuel savings over say 1000 to 1200 hrs a year aren't to be sneezed at
Wouldn't be worth getting rid of the 6290s they wouldn't get much money for them so may aswell work them till the end. Plus high power 4 pots are recent enough tractors and are quite expensive so you may never get the fuel savings back
Hi Phil..great vid..maybe the 99 better on juice than kubota because you lack gps! Running aroung doing them triangle missed bits in ure lands might be the difference..??? What do you and every1 else think?? Keep up the good work..Andy .herefordshire uk
You could try to play around with the rpm and gears, see what difference it makes on fuel consumption. I don't trust those things on absolute numbers but it is a great tool to get a grip on what changes the consumption. I know my JD 6420 is very frugal on low revs but kind of a heavy drinker in transport (=high revs).
You're going to end up with the result that the 4cyl is better at working efficiently in its lower range but the higher count engines are better at working in their upper range. You probably only needed 3cyl of that thing for the baler. Draft is a different creature, maybe going to a lower gearing will get you more coverage per liter.
That stabiliser system is very similar to what used to be on our John Deere 6600 maybe it’s still on the modern jd tractors , it’s great for you to get a try out of the kubota but I think there’s to many screens and delicate looking switches , what will they be like after a few years use with slurry hands after being on them 😂
They were factory fitted to my high spec Johne Deere 6200 in 1993, which is nearer 30 years ago than 10. They were an option included on some ‘pack’ if I remember correctly. They have been options on many other brands as well as JD from the early 1990’s.
Hi Phil Liv &family you your going back to sea please dont you are not a good sailor are well just a laugh on words Phil but as always your showing us what you do on an average day in spring and getting to handle new tractors great vid as always Phil now beate on
when ye are cutting your second cut silage are ye doing a vintage silage day if ye aint would you bring out your older tractors to draw silage like the 3075 3690 2725 and etc
Hi Farmer Phil. My 7 year old daughter Caoimhe loves repeating your intro greeting. 'Heeeelllllllo everybody, my name is Farmer Phil, and in todddaaays video', she'd love a shout out in one of your videos if you could. Thanks
personally I don't (know what ye doing with all your YT (fortune) money)😂, But its time we saw a new tractor to call "Phil`s". I'm voting for a 8s Massy 😁😁😁👍👍👍
Headland management for two functions? Honestly, what has happened to millenials ? When i was harrowing as a young lad,the only thing which kept me awake on a dull job like that was the headlands, though it was a hard work there as i had to pull one lever and release the gas...
Auto captions on a Farmer Phil video are an experience, especially with that semi-permanent head cold you seem to have.
“Give it so chocolate” 😂
Been out all day so going to settle down with Farmer Phil and liv and father .Hope your having a good day.Mix bag of weather at the moment.Good luck 🍀
You are a MASSEY FERGUSON man all the way but it was a grate demo. You tell every one what you feel good or bad vary good !

Going to be interesting when the Kubuta M8's arrive in Europe with a 6 cylinder engine :)
Great video Phil she’s not a bad little tractor them lemken harrows are a good test for a lot of tractors
Buy one Phil you will never regret it, once kubota get established in Ireland the will majorly take off and increase in price, get in on the ground floor, here in the states they run 0% finance, not sure what they are doing at home in 🇮🇪

What is the price of them
Have to say the kubota has grown on me since the first time we seen it on your videos
You’ll have to try the Massey 6700S series now😉
Case IH maxxum tractors have that same linkage option. Lift locks drops to float.
Pretty sure you could fit on a Massey too if you wanted
Farmer Phil have you tried breathing in some Salts and are you getting some honey lemon juice for that Cold 🥶 Hope you start feeling better soon.Tell liv to try that for you .All the best.☘️☘️🍀🌻🌻🌻🌻🤞
At the 14 min mark the flashing light on the dash, that's the "everything's ok" light, similar idea to homer simpson's everything's ok alarm.😉
That's one savage taracóir
Great video Phil good drone footage the KUBOTA nice tractor 🚜👍👍

The lower link arm lock is genius, on headland turns on steep ground the lurch of an implement can be risky
Seems to be a good tractor Philip. Glad you liked it though I don't think you will be moving away from the Masseys anytime soon 😉.
Very good truthful review phil great video thanks

Could the future be orange saw Gerry 6420 test a kubota and it did everything he gave it to do..
Deere have had that system for locking the link arms for 20 plus years. 😉
You're going to end up with the result that the 4cyl is better at working efficiently in its lower range but the higher count engines are better at working in their upper range. Stabiliser system is the same as the 6000 series deeres I think it's still used on the new ones. They would probably fit the masseys as well
Well Phil, them stabilisers are on the John Deeres the past 10 years 👌👌🤣🤣🤣
They were factory fitted to my high spec Johne Deere 6200 in 1993, which is nearer 30 years ago than 10. They were an option included on some ‘pack’ if I remember correctly. They have been options on many other brands as well as JD from the early 1990’s.
how does the Kubota compare to the fastrac?
Hi Phil. look at a demo on a used MF 6480. Popular tractor. price is reasonable.
Good video Phil that kubota can get the job done
Interesting to try different tractor
Hi Phil Liv &family you your going back to sea please dont you are not a good sailor are well just a laugh on words Phil but as always your showing us what you do on an average day in spring and getting to handle new tractors great vid as always Phil now beate on
Now get a demo of a deutz same gearbox and a great engine
we run jd 6125r with 360mtr at back 310front it takes 20litres per hour. it has 150 bhp boost !
Great looking tractor.
when ye are cutting your second cut silage are ye doing a vintage silage day if ye aint would you bring out your older tractors to draw silage like the 3075 3690 2725 and etc
I'm not surprised to see Kubota making their mark in Europe, but how about Iseki and Yanmar tractors?
When is there more merchandise out
Restock at the beginning of next month 👍🏼
Love the vids Phil
Every one pass is going to use 10litres per acre especially with hydraulic fan.so 5litres per ha is well off
How would the Kabutor handle baling on a hill? Nice vids like the demo and it’s air conditioning very clever
"We are goin heroin",have to love subtitles
Great video Phil 👌
That's like the John Deere stabiliser
Hi Farmer Phil. My 7 year old daughter Caoimhe loves repeating your intro greeting. 'Heeeelllllllo everybody, my name is Farmer Phil, and in todddaaays video', she'd love a shout out in one of your videos if you could. Thanks
Father Phil: Go and harrow the 5 acre field.
3 hours later
Farmer Phil: Computer says Nooo
😂😂little Britain
Great video! Now it's time to bate on down to the bedroom and fall asleep in Perth Western Australia. lol
Why is the green light and flashing light under it on ?
Is this the same tractor Jerry 6420 had on demo?
The futures bright Phillip….the futures orange
Well
John deere have that lift lock for years
personally I don't (know what ye doing with all your YT (fortune) money)😂, But its time we saw a new tractor to call "Phil`s".

🚜🚜🚜😎😎😎😎👍
This is for the algorithm.
Reading the subtitles, you are doing a bit of heroin. You are giving your tractor a bit of chocolate. (throttle)
Don't like that tractor for me a massy or a fendt
