Me and my friend were one of the few Tool fans here in Beirut, back in the late 90s we watched a Live Tool clip online, we’d only seen Maynard in magazine photos, when we saw him dancing like that we were dumbfounded, why the hell is this guys moving like that, then my friend turned and said “ i think that’s the only way to move while singing a Tool song”, i think he was right.
It happens to a persons voice, it’s inevitable. Eventually you will not be able to scream in such a way so you must cherish every one you get and it truly does seem like he did. Also Maynard has nothing to prove anymore so why risk breaking your money maker.
TOOL is still incredible live but the energy of their early shows is just mind blowing and has been somewhat lost do to the fact they are getting a little older
