Hi! So your other video gave me courage to peak through my washer to identify the problem and possibly fix it. I’m concluding now that the sound I’m getting is stator sound. I have LG washer and from what I understand it could be caused by sensor issue. Not sure how to verify if it’s sensor issue or not. But as I understood stator sensors do go bad when you over load the washer. I washed couple of towels the night before so this is what making me suspecting it’s the sensor. Now, finding a replacement online is nearly impossible as I’m abroad and we don’t have local amazon or similar services :/

Very good video. This helped to pinpoint problem. I had grinding noise and drum may not rotate. In direct drive washer, Whole drum is metal with magnets inside makes it costly, over $100. Culprit is center wheel with grooves that fit motor shaft. Its worn out and when motor rotates, it slips so drum does not rotate. On Bay you can buy center white wheel-rotor hub- for less than $10 replace on metal drum and complete the job.

How did that part work out for you? I refuse to buy a whole rotor when you just need the plastic part BUT I'm reading on Amazon it's not thick enough, .8" vs. 1"

I just did this same repair to a washer/dryer combo. The drum shaft, that small rod was rusted. Took some really man power to get it off.

I just received my replacement Rotor Assembly for my LG WM2487HRMA Washer. At mins 2:06 the video shows "Steve" rocking the Rotor Assembly in unto the Shaft. The inner wheel cog of the Rotor of my replacement Rotor Assembly is not allowing the Rotor to seat on the Shaft. Your help with this issue is of great importance. I hope this does not fall upon blind eyes.

I liked this video fro removing the rotor but I would like to know if you have a video for the Stator Assembly which is directly in your video once you have removed the rotor? Can you please assist? Thank you, Larry

What was wrong with it? How did you know it was the rotor that was faulty.

Hi... I hope this question does not fall upon blind eyes. I have an LG Steam Washer WM2487HRMA which is making a noise like teeth on a gear is slipping (for lack of better words to describe it) when I try to wash a medium load. I removed the wet items and ran the cycle once more and make the same sound. I replaced both bearings and can turn the drum with no sound coming from the bearing with no leaks. Could this be the Plastic teeth of has gone bad? Thank you for your help with this question.

Sorry I'm really late. Did you figure out what was the problem?

I fixed mine. Remove the cover in the back and there is a 17mm bolt
that holds the stater on the shaft that spins the drum. Remove the 17mm
Bolt and slide the stater off. The splines on mine were sheared off
after my wife washed some sweaters that were really heavy when they are
wet. Any way I thought it was the bearings and took the whole thing
apart but it was what I just described. Repair clinic wants you to buy a
whole new stater but there was a replacement part on amazon that is
just the plastic hub. The part from amazon also had the splines made of
metal where the LG part is plastic. The Repair clinic part was $120
and the amazon part was like $27. Easy to fix, if I had just removed the
rear cover I could of trouble shot this thing in 15 minutes. Mine was making noise and not spinning the drum.
