Was excited for this game, but wasn't sure what it was all about. After watching this video this game combines elements from the fav FFG games: Eldritch Horror, Fallout, and Mansions of Madness Second Edition. As well as my love for fantasy and LOtR! Even after watching the live stream from FFG i wasn't excited. I really didn't understand there unorganized chaos, plus they weren't exciting to watch. You on the other hand seem to have a passion for the hobby, which makes these play through videos very entertaining! I really appreciate how detailed the explanation is! i can understand and follow along with whats happening. The quality of video is amazing as well! I have subscribed and am looking forward to this series. My Pre-order is locked in!
Bro ur videos are great. That in depth totorial how to build ur deck and how u play really helped me understand the game. I could find any videos explaining how to build ur deck and that. Cheers man

I tried aliens and was understanding it no problem. then i played drizzt which is supposed to be an easier version of the other 2 and i was getting on fine with that. then i tried tackling the lord of the rings one and i was like wtf...i was ready for boxing it away and never looking at it again but after watching your first two videos i was like..every game should have videos like these. explaining each and every part of the game. so well done.
FFG did a play-through of the first two scenarios of this campaign last week, as you may be aware. Already, from step 1, your game is different than the one they played; the overall objectives are the same, but the encounters (and maybe the board) are not. Very cool.
Already tried this game once yesterday for couple hours. First impression; not a easy game but I’m looking forward to that as I enjoy challenging games. Story telling throughout the game and you’re right, you can’t play this game without the app.

Have you played Hard setting since this tutorial? I've enjoyed the NM ...and the App. has given me PLENTY to deal with. My ,"Go To's", have been Aragorn and Bilbo... and I'm thinking about adding Legolas for my third character next start up.

Great video and good to see the components up close. The FFG gameplay video was a bit disappointing because the camera was too far away. Looking forward to seeing your playthrough. I'm leaning more and more toward buying this now. Couple minor annoyances I have with it but yeah, wouldn't stop me getting it.

Was kind of hoping you would go with Gimli and Legolas because I loved how they would always try and one up each other. Wonder if the game is smart enough to have special character interactions if you have a certain grouping....

This is the same system used in Imperial Assault, (including the app) except its discarding cards instead of rolling dice for skillchecks.. And i must say i kind of prefer rolling a die or two, but thats me personally. It will be interesting to see further on if its just a reskin of Imperial Assault or if there will be major differences that will make it a new game later on.
I think that you forget to use Aragorns ability to scout one extra card and Also help Legolas Also to scout one extra card because Legolas is near to him..
What’s slightly funny is I may have forgotten this ability as well in my soon to be released video. If so, I’ll pin it in the comments and smarten up haha
Inwas really looking forward to this game but now that I see it I am quite underwhelmed. It looks like it plays way too similiar to mansions of madness. So I am hesitant about whether it is just MOM with a LOTR reskin.
For me, more time is needed with the app. I believe it will handle the campaign much differently then MoM (as those are one off scenarios where as this is a campaign). I think there is enough difference here to warrant exploring further.
I guess I’ll just have to watch your playthrough to see if this is for me. I just get the feeling that many of FFG app based games are essentially using the same app engine which is making the gameplay of all the games too similiar and becoming generic.

I finally realized this is not a game for me despite how much I love the theme. So I cancelled my pre-order and will use the "budget" for something else :-p

Hey Timo! Thanks for watching. These are hybrids and they have existed for years now. The good news is that FFG has experience with Mansions of Madness, Imperial Assault and Descent. Three very well made app driven games. Not all app driven games are equal imo. Cheers!
The voice acting is OK, but who wrote the text? Since when did Middle-earth have psychiatrists to give the narrator the word 'paranoid'? It seems a small thing, but if someone is going to try to re-create Tolkien's world in particular, and not just Terrinoth or some other modern fantasy, I expect them to put in more visible effort to create an appropriate (not necessarily 'archaic') style of prose. Just naming your ranged fighter Legolas and your tank Gimli isn't enough. So, started to lose me around 9:30 already. (to say nothing of calling the Tower Hills 'Emyn Beraid' (misspelled and mispronounced 'Emyn Beriad'!) but using 'Weathertop' instead of 'Amon Sul'...)

They list Windows, Mac, and Steam as supported so depending on your OS, yes.

Ah... Good! The Ffg playgroup did forget that power all the time in their play through. So it only works in rally and not in all scouts. Good to know!
