Up here I’ve struggled with water spots , from the road salt and brine they spray on the roads in our lovely winter, and at subzero temperatures, I can’t wash it off every day. So, following your instructions, I clayed and cleaned and ceramic coated my windows, this works beautiful! Thank you so much for the video!

Sarah, I also like very clean windows, but, I’ve never seen so much effort to clean glass! I use really fine steel wool and windex . I also clean the hidden glass that goes up into the door frame I also use microfiber towels. I have used rainX . You are amazing though. A girl after my own heart. Just absolutely 30 years too late!!

For future basic cleaning after treatment use black and white print news paper . Bunched/crumpled up , leaves zero streaks . Don’t use color print, it will leave ink residue. Great channel , good job 👍🏻
Never thought of a clay bar for removing mineral deposits on auto glass. Wish I knew this for my last car. I might try this for my glass shower. I appreciate your tips.

@ 2:00 No, roll the window down & do the top edge first THEN roll the window back up and do the rest of the window top to bottom. If you do the bottom first, then roll the window down to do the top, the "cleaned" bottom of the glass is sliding up and down in the built-in door window wiper and dragging gunk trapped in the wiper up and down the glass.
FINALLY ! Another aside from myself that uses clay bars on my glass ! P.S. I like to concentrate on the lip created by the difference in height from the window to the tint. It holds a lot of dirt. Many vehicles have a upper gasket that removes, I try to wash them as well as I can, can’t stand seeing a line of dirt along the window edges after all of that work . For a standard window cleaner, SprayWay I get at Lowe’s or Home Depot.
my forester had really bad hard water stains on the glass. tried everything and what i found worked was polishing it out with metal polish. keep that in mind ;) happy vday btw
Nice work!!! I also like to wipe down interior glass with Isopropyl Alcohol/water mix then clean with damp pruduct/cleaner towel, wipe again with dry towel. Streak free every time!!

i used to care about being this anal about cars being clean, but now that i'm 43 i just dont have the time or energy to do so. i bought a 17 tacoma trd off road new last year and it by far has the hardest glass to clean and i've owned lots of cars over the years. love the videos, keep um coming!
Cleaning glass is a pia. At the time of cleaning it looks nice. Then when I drive out with just a tad of moisture in the air I see all the missed spots. It's like a teacher correcting my homework!

Mr. Budget man says: If you are prepping glass for a sealant or rainx....clean it normally...then use fine steel will and windex .....or fine steel wool and alcohol. Rainx works very well...especially if you put 10 coats of it on there. The key to longevity is to only use the mildest soap and water on the windscreen. You are so good at filming and .....you are....kind of.....
Not sure if you care or not, but I found a cheap and easy way to clean and protect glass. Stoves that have glass tops use a special cleaning product that protects the surface. You use a special applicator (YELLOW) similar to a scotch bright pad but much softer. Do the mr. Miyagi thing and the waffle thing then polish with a clean towel. I do this twice a year, spring and fall, it’s awesome when you’re doing 80 mph down the highway you hardly have to use the wipers (depending upon how heavy the rain is of course) but it’s a cheaper and quicker alternative to all those products.
One piece of advice.. always cap your ceramic bottle when not putting product on the applicator.. it will start to harden with air and crystallize in the bottle.

I use Windex to clean the heavy crap/dirt etc off, then use a cheap bottle of White Vinegar to remove any remaining oil/dirt on the glass, as well as cleaning the Wiper Blades or replacing them with Rain X Wiper Blades Silicone Advantage. NU FINISH Car Polish, one Applicator and a container of water to keep the Applicator moist, Apply a lite coat of NU FINISH, buff out when it turns white, repeat again. Windex Vinegar A roll of Paper towels Nu Finish Polish and applicator (Nu Finish is NOT a Wax) it's a silicone based product. Spray Bottle or Bucket of water to keep applicator moist One cotton towel to buff the Polish Sarah does an outstanding job cleaning glass to a perfection.
Great video. The rear window on my 4Runner is impossible to keep clean, especially if I drive off-road at all. I just roll it down so I can’t see how dirty it gets lol.
I detailed cars for 10 years before getting into paint and bodywork. The best product I've ever used out of dozens of glass cleaners is "Sprayway " glass cleaner that comes in a blue and white aerosol can. It also works great on smokers cars and if you have ever detailed you know how tough it is cleaning smokers cars!
