regular cars in the US are quiet exotic cars in Europe...most of the cars on this channel aren't even available here- including that Nissan...or about any of the trucks... or the Camry Doug DeMuro keeps talking about...
@@carkulturez Depressing or just being realistic and practical. I am never going to buy a $100,000+ car. I’d rather make sure my family is taken care of. It’s fun to drool over that sleek and sexy sports car but I have no desire to own one. There’s actually someone who owns a Lamborghini in my suburbanarea. I see him zooming from one stop light to the next. That seems like a waste of a beautiful car to me.
Sarah and Liz, love the collaboration videos. Excited for the next one. Ideas... drive around used car lots and comment on what u like and how you would modify them. Then stop somewhere, have a drink ( or coffee or milk shake, whatever) and ask each other questions about the other. We watch your channels because we like cars and the presenters... you guys. Sarah, your music choices are always great, but you really outdid yourself on this video. Whatever you and Liz come up with, I’m certain it will be funny and entertaining. Thank you!
Reminds me of when B is for Build tried to repaint a door on a white BMW with just the paint code and yeah it was super obvious once you saw the panels side by side
Sarah you are an education. thank you for passing along your knowledge (and the paint whisperers too). Nice to see Liz there. Hope you two something fun together besides the car stuff.
The factory code will give you both base and Pearl coat when you plug it into the mixing computer. There’s just different variances. Their are so many different Variables that can cause different shades of the same color, from the different chemical dye Lots when the toners actually made to paint fade due to the sun. Ive been in paint and body professionally for 26 years. I love painting more then bodywork lol.
Random thoughts on next video with Liz: * food/restaurants * you two driving in AZ with Mr. Dos * how you two met/bonded * common interests * Air Force Stories like the one mentioned in this vlog * how you two appreciate each other’s company/friendship
I once stood awake for 90 hrs when I was I the army during a training exercise, so I know how Liz feels. 😴 Love the videos keep up the great content. 👍🏼❤️
Nice to see you and Mick Beth hanging out together again. And I don't even live in Tucson (although I've been there many times) but I've been to Saguaro National Park.
Thanks for sharing the experts with us Sarah, very informative. When you're out there in the desert the paint really takes a beating, very difficult to do a match.

Looking so forward to hearing about the Altima Turbo. No joke, I love hearing about the cool performance cars, but the everyday are important to us working stiffs. Speaking of stiff... See if you can find someplace that to take Liz go karting. If it's at night it should be cool enough. If it's indoor it might be AC'd. Whatever you do, you and your friend have some fun.
You could build a go kart out of lawn mower motors & the people putting the roll together could maybe weld a frame & chassis ? Oh , that tuna salad look delicious as well. Enjoy your Ladies & Gents.
Sarah, you should go ride go carts. Maybe you could get one of those shields for your windshield that you put on the inside when you park, to help keep the sun out. Most auto parts store have them, or online.
How about a drive up Mt. Lemmon in the MR2 and then a cool sunset shot/hiking/drive back down? Unless it was damaged by the fire earlier this year that is. I visited tucson in 2016 and got some sunset pictures there with my friends plus that road is fun to drive with all the curves and whatnot
Thank goodness I like cars. Otherwise my wife would think I just watch your channel because you are hotter than the weather in Arizona. Seriously love your channel.
Yep!!!! The body shop I took my L.L.Bean Outback to screwed up my pearl paint... looks "yellow" when look down the drivers side.... I know your guys there will hook you up right!!!! LOVE watching your videos!!! Thank you Sarah!!! Want to add.... I'm in gooberville here!!!😟😟
This is why white is the hardest color to match, with plain black being the easiest. Glad you showed this video, a while back people thought I was crazy for not wanting to do just a single panel respray. The reality is you will never find an "exact" match that gets the amount of pearl, whiteness, etc. correct. That is why typically the best way is to blend panels though the short coming of that is you end up respraying much more of the vehicle than you want.
As another point of proof, my Audi dealer will not sell Ibis White or Glacier White touch-up paint. Too many customers complained of a non-exact match.
When I used to paint cars/motorcycles for a living whenever it was a pearl color we usually blended into adjacent panels or recommended a complete respray due to some of the paints that are used in other countries aren't legal to use here in the US and therefore almost impossible to get a perfect match.
I worked for O'Reilly Auto mixing automotive paints for them. I completely understand the problem with color matching. I also understand all the lingo they were using. Tri-stage paints are the hardest of all to match other than custom blends.
That’s why I can never get correct touch up paint for my Subaru I have that GU1 Ice silver metallic no I try to match up the paint code it’s still off!
you also have to look into the pressures that you're spraying it and along how many coats you spray at thosew pressures. a major factor is how well the factory cleaned the paint lines because they use the same lines to spray other colors. we had a same issues on a truck back in auto body school in a green metallic color. i think we had to spray the part in a checkerboard pattern to get it to blend into the rest of the panel. pearls are a nightmare in the autobody world.
Should you buff/polish the car before doing a match-up for paint repair? So, the color shift occurs from the sun and whatnot (which would make sense) - the guys said that it might've been white white when it got out of the factory. I'm getting ready to pick some pearl from my car and I'm aware of the fun involved.
Really liked the drive-through park you found. If I'm ever in Tuscon I'll have to check it out. As for Liz, I have no doubt you'll come up with something nifty.
I ordered painted body panels on line (bumper cover and fenders, 66% less than the dealer). I provided my paint code and it was a close match, but after 10 years in the Canadian elements and I could see a slight difference in colour, but my neighbours couldn’t. So I consider it a success!
Love to see a track day with you and Liz, rent matching EVOs or STis if they have that in your area, or since you mention carts, jump in some carts and show us your driving skills! we know how talented you both are in front of the camera and on the tools, let’s see ya dance on the track for kicks and giggles, Girls just wanna have fun, go time Liz and Sarah🤙

Regular car reviews are fine with me. As cool as the exotic cars are, I’m never going to own one so I’d rather see ones that are in my universe.
regular cars in the US are quiet exotic cars in Europe...most of the cars on this channel aren't even available here- including that Nissan...or about any of the trucks... or the Camry Doug DeMuro keeps talking about...
Amen to that. There are thousand TH-cam channels for exotic, expensive, unrealistic cars, but we are the 99% who drive normal cars and trucks.
That’s depressing

That discussion about paint was mind-blowing.

Straight from the Q&A to this video. Can't get enough of you!
Ian has a passion and knowledge that is hard to come by. Something about forgetting more than you will ever know.
Sarah you are simply awesome a complete package an alrounder to be exact and love to see you enjoy making videos as much as we love watching them.
Gosh, all that trouble for a boring white color. Thanks for the video, I didn't know it was so complicated. Great info from these guys.
I love your editing and sound effects. You care so much and it shows
The paint whisperers Fred and Ian lost me when they started talking about "smoky, dark sidecasts" and "milky flops"...
Also why wouldn't the paint code know that the paint was a three stage paint job?
@@Hoggdoc1946 The code might "know" this, but it has no clue about how sunlight will change the color.
@JCDagz Color nerds. Even though I'm not as deep into the matter as they are, I still am able to relate to what they mean...

Another great video. I enjoy your humour and knowledge.
Take Liz on an adventure drive in the MR2. Someplace cool around Tuscon. Something that you would say, "If you come to Tuscon make sure to see this."
