    Wow...another great video, Sarah. This one made me laugh out loud, several times. I really like your technique of doing triangles in the carpet, while cleaning. I have a hot water extractor for doing car carpet and will use the triangle technique the next time I use it. Thanks for all you do for the automotive community.

    G'day, Sarah! Wow! Great puns! You know, I just watched your fabulous video, about 'vacuum cleaners'. It really sucked me in. By the way, "I had this neat idea, for a hovercraft vacuum cleaner, but it never really took off." Lol!! Thank you so kindly for the automotive carpet detailing basics, and how to make sweet carpet triangles! Cheers! 😊✌🏼💕

    Ms Sara, try using 7:1 Cold Water Tide on the carpet along with 5:1 fabric softer. With those products, it really helps with cutting down time on shampooing the carpets and it helps take out odors as well. Good luck and keep the videos rolling!!!!!

    When wet vaxing a carpet tgst is heavy stained I would first use a fabric cleaner and a brush to agitate the stain then wet vax it.you get better results that way

  • @Stevo-xe9jw
    @Stevo-xe9jw 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sarah, for those that don't have a carpet shampooer like you (ahem, muah for example), I highly recommend Meguiar's Super Degreaser (you have to order it at the auto parts stores - $20 a gallon). Mix 10 parts water to 1 part cleaner for general cleaning, 4 parts water to 1 part cleaner for the heavy stuff. Make sure you have plenty of nylon brushes, and wipe away with a wet cloth, otherwise it leaves a film. Works wonders on interiors, not just carpet. Smells decent.

    • @SarahnTuned
      @SarahnTuned  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stevo 1975 problem with doing that is unless you remove 100% of the degreaser, it will re-activate the next time you get the fabric wet and attract stains twice as fast. I was recently taught never to use simple green on a carpet for that reason.

    • @Stevo-xe9jw
      @Stevo-xe9jw 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Damn. Thought I was on to something - oh well. Stuff works great on the rest of the interior at least. Haven't had the guts to try it on acrylic though. Thanks for the lesson.

    Great video Sarah. Having a different kind OCD, I’ll probably never make carpet triangles but I’d love it if you could use a thermometer and show the temp in the garage before and after running the swamp cooler for an hour or so.

    • @SarahnTuned
      @SarahnTuned  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ian Levine it was 93°F in the garage yesterday regardless of the cooler, it’s not big enough to change the temp unfortunately.

  • @pauljs75
    @pauljs75 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The pro stuff is called a hot-water-extraction machine, and those things are pricey. (At least the good ones that have a built-in heater and a large reservoir.) You either need deep pockets, or have to do detailing for a living where the machine will eventually pay for itself. However the carpet cleaner rental (one with a nozzle) or a separate source of hot water with a wet-dry shop vac will do in most cases.
    These cars here really don't look too bad to start out with (easy mode), some of the videos where they show a gross-ass used minivan brought into a shop in preparation for being sold really shows what's possible. (More about scrubbing, cleaning agents, and repeated going at it.)

    VacuMaid makes an excellent, affordable hang-up garage vac. The hose is a tad too small, but that's easily fixable. $250-$280 on Amazon and is powerful, fairly quiet, and uses disposable fabric bags that filter really well and hold a TON, so you don't have to change them that often.
    It's extremely hard for me to stay focused on the subject in your vids. Not sure why...

    Oh the innuendos. I have to be careful, with them, at work. For example: The other day, I heard two co-workers talking about something they had stored in a 3rd co-workers desk drawer. (#3 happened to be absent at the time) One says, to the other, "Are you going to be able to get into her drawers?".Of course, I start giggling. Which is met with "Oh Sean, be professional will ya?"
