This is very informative. Thank you for sharing. As for the name 'Aisling', I've heard it pronounced as 'ASH-LING'...can you imagine!

Thank you for your casual yet informative video. It is relaxing to listen and learn from you. I have so much to learn about making this lace, and I know now that I’ve found the best teacher.

You are very brave to have kittens in the same room as your lace.

Hello Monique - I watched your video this morning before I went to work and thought about it all day! I couldn't wait to get home and try the pattern out....I don't have lace weight yarn yet but I used fingering and will post pictures in the Facebook KAL group. I do believe I am hooked - your passion is working it's magic! Thank you!!! ~Betsy

Thank you for this video and your heartfelt admissions. I’m sure your knitting fans understand and have already forgiven you. I just love the kitten intermission too! I plan to join your group on Ravelry and find A Passion for Lace. Hugs!

Thank you for this added information....I have knit much lace and some Shetland lace but alas I must admit I haven't noticed that differences in the YO in garter or st st. That was amazing! And how interesting that you have different colours for start and finish on the 'right side'. I do this too, so it is much easier to distinguish it when you are doing something special with the edges. You have done a wonderful job of lighting the fires of passion yet again for fine lace!

Wonderful honest explanation. Thank you for your heartfelt passion for Lace. You've inspired me to start the Esha. I bought the pattern a few days ago and joined the KAL but have been a bit scared to actually start because I thought it maybe too hard for me. This video is all I needed to 'have a go'! Thanks Monique 😘

Thanks! try a swatch with a fuller yarn, that's less scary. And with the support in the group, you'll be in a warm nest. I recasted on myself only 2 days ago!

I hear you as far as the extreme heat is concerned. Once the temperature goes above 80 degrees F, I'm done. I retreat to air conditioned comfort until the first hard frost! Hang in there, Monique!

we have too few heatwaves or hot days to get an airco. Although my 99yo grandmother has one! Anyway, it almost feels like we moved to Italy or Spain, so hot! Hope the temps go down where you are, soon!

Of course you are! Making that decision is half the work. Join our little group and you'll get the hang of it soon!

Thanks so much, Monique. Very interesting explanation about shetland lace. I have my yarn on order and just purchased the Esha pattern. I'll admit that I will be doing my first try with heavier yarn than you showed us but you've given me the courage to "consider" trying a true lace weight yarn next time.

Thank you for watching! We recommend you can swatch with thicker yarn to try the technique and work your way up to finer yarn and needles

Great! You can always swatch in a yarn you're more comfortable with, but deciding you want to learn is half the battle won!

Hello, I'm from Chile and I've been looking and researching about this wonderful weaving technique and as you say, I only find separate design patterns, and in my short or almost non-existent experience, I can't make or join different designs to create a complete work. Is there a pattern that shows how to make a complete shawl? Or should I just do it myself? Thank you very much for all your videos and you have a new subscriber!!!!
