  • kantwerk.mysho... is my webshop, and I'm @apassionforlace on all social media, Ravelry and Etsy.
    Welcome. This is where I tell you my experience with knitting a Hap. And hoping you will join me in making one.
    usually, they're made with 100% wool, but can vary in weight.
    A delicate Hap with all-over lace is very elegant for a bride.
    A laceweight can be knitted to help keep a newborn baby warm and cosy.
    Using a 2ply Spindrift or a 2ply Supreme Jumperweight for a square will last you a long time when keeping warm every day.
    Double up, wrap around, and you're good to go.
    I show a bit of yarn to get an idea of weight and colours.
    How to match colours, making small samples.
    Then the tech bit. Which type of stitches are used and then reading a chart.
    Finally, how to wear it.
    suppliers for wool can be:
    @JamiesonSmith
    @jamiesonsofshetland2245
    @donnasmithdesigns8238
    @Uradale
    The sweater I'm wearing is a design by Tori Seierstad and is called Next Year in Lerwick.
    It is made out of Shetland Spindrift in greens, sand, and white, with handspun chocolate milk coloured wool and 1 green by Jamieson & Smith 2ply jumperweight.
    Check out their websites for possible local to you stockists.

    Hi, Monique - What a delightful video, and so much useful information. Hap-py knitting ahead! Thanks for all you do to preserve the Shetland lace heritage & to build a contemporary, international community of fine Shetland lace knitters. Best wishes to you & yours for the coming year. ❤

    Anch’io odio fissare i fili. Uso un metodo più lungo. Lavoro fino alla fine della riga, segno il filo dove finisce l’ultimo punto, disfo 5-6 maglie e unisco il nuovo colore con Russian join dal segno sul vecchio filato. Poi rilavoro i 5-6 punti ed ho il nuovo colore per continuare. Mi sembra che l’ho trovato in un lavoro di Kieran Foley.

    Hello
    Can you show fine lace cast on. Mine is always too tight. I do the loop cast on, and it pulls together there.
    If there are any tips, I'd appreciate it. It's keeping me from Equilibrium Shawl. I dont like the way it looks and. I know grafting here will be bunched and look terrible, and that bothers me too much. Thanks, Robin

    Monique, è possibile attivare i sottotitoli? Grazie❤

      Se premi il radar in alto a destra, puoi andare su Impostazioni. Lì puoi premere i sottotitoli e scegliere la tua lingua.
      Non posso attivarlo da solo. Se non è possibile farlo, significa che non è disponibile.
      TH-cam si occupa di questo.
