What great insight to Monique. One of the kindest enablers I know. I blame Monique as well for introducing me to Shetland lace back in 2017, I think. I was a follower of her in IG when she mentioned that she was starting a group on fb early 2018. I leapt at the chance and it’s the greatest group that I know of.

I’m still trying to find a reason to blame Karen for something, just for the sake of tradition, but I think our Shetland lace addiction is definitely Monique’s fault :)

You say here it's difficult to knit lace in public. Because of getting distracted. I think it depends on where and how 'in public' it is. I am thinking of knitting lace because the yarn is very lightweight ... I thought I can take it with me on my bicycle trips, to have something to knit in the evenings at camping sites. Most of the time I don't get distracted there (I am on my own and others camping there are as couples or families and we all do our own thing). Do you think I am wrong about this???
Even if you think I am wrong I want to try anyway. I already knitted with fine merino during other bicycle-camping-trips. 🙂

My main problem when knitting lace is good light. I can rarely knit it in the evenings, just too tough on my eyes, specially when it comes to gossamer

btw I ordered three of Monique's patterns and the needed yarn (for one of them) from the other Monique, right after watching those two interviews. I will probably be prepared before next summer ...
