I think you might have to have a Robin weekend because he has so much with his brothers and solo. I don't think anyone knows how much solos he had in the early years of the Bee Gees. He didn't get so much after the disco years and Barry's falsetto.
Apparently at the time of this song, Barry was working with Andy on his album and working with Barbara Streisand on the Guilty album. Robin's ethereal vibrato is amazing. Good job Chad!!
As Guilty and Andy's After Dark are from 1980 and this song was recorded in 1982 there is no connection here. But I think Barry was involved in 2 projects at this time. That would be Heartbreaker with Dionne Warwick and Eyes That See In The Dark with Kenny Rogers. So it might be those you are thinking about. However on these albums Robin and Maurice was also credited as writers on some of the songs, but Barry was producing with Karl and Albhy.

He did appear on a few UK comedy shows and was friends with Robin Williams and Barry Humphries (AKA Dame Edna). At the end the way Robin hangs his head like a little boy at fault is so touching and to see him all along the video play with joy brings sadness to me, I miss him so much just as Mo and Andy. I own the LP "How old are you" since 1983, It's Rob's second solo album, though in fact the real second one "Sing slowly sisters" was not released). On"How old are you" we can discover other huge songs. I love for example: "Juliet", the sad ''Cathy's gone", the danceable '' Don't stop the night", the BG's flavored "In and out of love", "Danger", "I believe in miracles", "Hearts on fire".
All great songs. He had some gems in all of his solo albums. He kept up with the changing musical styles but maintained his unique identity. IMO, the only really good song in the Sgt. Pepper movie was his cover of "Oh Darling" and it's hard to surpass McCartney.

I really liked this song. The video was busy, but the tune was catchy. I don’t have this album, but I do have Secret Agent on vinyl. Went up to Cold Spring, NY, Tuesday specifically to get Bee Gees vinyl for a buck each at this antique shop we’ve been to many times but it went out during COVID. 😟. One thing I notice from year to year, they start and stop looking like each other. When Barry had the lion’s mane, which was a long time, I don’t think they looked at all like each other. But there are pics where Barry and Andy look like twins just aged. In this video, I think (maybe because of the hair) Robin looked like Andy. And I think Robin had the most unusual looks of all of them because he had a longer, narrow face. I’d have to go back a while for Maurice pics to compare to the others. But that’s neither here nor there. I did like the song. I loved the 80s!
In a lot of photos I saw a strong resemblance between Robin and Andy and others have said the same. He really didn't look much like Barry at all or like Mo. When his son Spencer was young he looked like Robin's younger twin. Melissa also resembled him too. RJ not so much.

There's that one picture I love of Robin and Spencer where they both have long blond hair that they could almost pass as twins in my opinion. @@susieq9801 I saw a slide show on a song Spencer was covering. In one of the pictures he was young, maybe 20-25 and his hair was in kind of an up-do, almost Elvis-ish with a tint of reddish. It caught me off guard. He was the image of his dad. He still has his dad's looks. Now he's just with darker hair and more chiseled features. There are some Q&A videos that the Gibb cousins did about the time they released the Gibb Collective album. I saw them for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Spencer and Steven showed the matching tattoos they got of their Uncle Mo's fedora. They both sounded like they were so close to him, and both so lovely and well-spoken.

I don’t know. If you need to check the driver’s license... 🤔 No, I enjoy Robin’s sense of humor and yours, Chad, and this video is no exception. Robin’s voice sounds great and I love Maurice’s “How Old Are You” too. Although I was in high school in the 80’s the pop music doesn’t sound as good to me in general as other time periods. Maybe artists relied more on music videos for story telling rather than the lyrics or music? I don’t envy them competing with all the hype surrounding Michael Jackson’s Thriller from the same year. Looks like Robin had a lot of fun making it though and he also did some good acting.

My Grandson had Girls that were 18 & 19 yrs. old flirting with him & hitting on him when he was just 14 yrs. old cause he already had a mustache & goatee & looked older than his age. The poor girls would always be floored when he told them his age, he got a kick out of it. I was just reviewing your Bee Gees playlist and saw that you had done I am your driver by Barry from the Now Voyager albums. There are a couple of their songs that I think you may want to review from that album. You might want to try stays alone, shine shine, and fine line. If you play the Voyager video with Barry singing fine line, You'll see Barry without his beard. He shaved it off for this particular song in the video/album. Although there's a strong strong resemblance between him and Andy, Barry without his beard is difficult to get used to.
I'm thinking of the "Night Fever" video. Barry is clean shaven, Don't know the story on why, unless it was related to the way the characters in the film looked. He is gorgeous that way too, but definitely startling.

Robin had 3 great solo lp's that were classics. I didn't care for "Robins Reign" Barry's & Maurice Gibb had much superior unreleased solo efforts in 1970. the strongest song of Robin Gibb would be "In And Out Of Love" which would have been a number 1 if given the chance. all the Brothers sang on that one.
Robin's Reign was actually at a low point after Hither Green and the break up and the songs pretty somber. Some were also bizarre and ahead of their time.

This album is such a conundrum. Most of the music is well written and great 80's pop, BUT ROBIN'S VOCALS ARE JUST ATROCIOUS. He sings in a ridiculously high key for most of the album and it just sounds terrible. If he wrote this album for another contemporary artist who sang well, it probably would have been a hit. There are many radio friendly songs here, but Robin's singing makes listening and understanding impossible. Not a Robin basher, but he can't carry an album - not with that type of singing.

That was a terribly sad song. It was well prior to his divorce but very premonitory.
I have to say Chad that the song itself I love, but watching the video didn't give it justice to me, maybe you disagree. Loved his voice as always xx

I was just reviewing your Bee Gees playlist and saw that you had done I am your driver by Barry from the Now Voyager albums. There are a couple of their songs that I think you may want to review from that album. You might want to try stays alone, shine shine, and fine line. If you play the Voyager video with Barry singing fine line, You'll see Barry without his beard. He shaved it off for this particular song in the video/album. Although there's a strong strong resemblance between him and Andy, Barry without his beard is difficult to get used to.
I'm thinking of the "Night Fever" video. Barry is clean shaven, Don't know the story on why, unless it was related to the way the characters in the film looked. He is gorgeous that way too, but definitely startling.

Hey Chad, I've been enjoying your channel and I'd like to recommend a new band. "NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND - AMERICAN DREAM" This band is considered a Country Rock Band - ( a jug band) they have a lot of really great songs, definitely worth a listen! Thanks and have a good day

Robin had 3 great solo lp's that were classics. I didn't care for "Robins Reign" Barry's & Maurice Gibb had much superior unreleased solo efforts in 1970. the strongest song of Robin Gibb would be "In And Out Of Love" which would have been a number 1 if given the chance. all the Brothers sang on that one.
Robin's Reign was actually at a low point after Hither Green and the break up and the songs pretty somber. Some were also bizarre and ahead of their time.
@@susieq9801 I have the lp but it's the only Gibb material I didn't care for, but I loved Barry & Maurices solo lp's, I really thought Stigwood should have released them, unfortunately, I have I guess bootleg copies on CD I bought on e-bay years ago.

This album is such a conundrum. Most of the music is well written and great 80's pop, BUT ROBIN'S VOCALS ARE JUST ATROCIOUS. He sings in a ridiculously high key for most of the album and it just sounds terrible. If he wrote this album for another contemporary artist who sang well, it probably would have been a hit. There are many radio friendly songs here, but Robin's singing makes listening and understanding impossible. Not a Robin basher, but he can't carry an album - not with that type of singing.
