@@jessicaalvis7063Macbook is boring. Work should be fun and versatile. 16" iPad Pro with iPad OS and Mac OS will solve evrything. And since aspect ratio is different, there will be bigger touchpad.
You are 100% right about needing a unified OS, the software just needs to understand the form factor you are using, attach a keyboard, bingo MacOS like experience with only certain touch features enabled, detach the keyboard and bingo reverts to the fully touch based iOS, that is all they need to do. This would be so amazing! they could make a large 24" iMac Pad that you could dock and undock, you could tilt it almost flat and have one of the best cad or art/animation platforms ever. Heck they could sell sleek cool docking stations so you could keep in different rooms and the dock would be a charger of course. So with a unified OS Apple could create entire new product lines and accessories, people would still buy iPad Air's and mini's, just Make the iMac Pads lager 15" and 24" I want something like that.
I have an iPad 3rd, 10th and an iPad Air 5th generation. I use them for media consumption in transit and at appointments when I am waiting. They still work great. I can't even conceive what an M1 would bring that I don't already have. let alone an M4! for the keyboard. I had the Original keyboard for the iPad Air and it failed two days after the recall program expired. I have yet to get another unit. I don't use my iPad for text entry at all. The pencil? I have it I never use it. its first generation and it's too bulky.
A more powerful AI engine / NPU could reduce the number of cloud referrals and in turn improve response to queries that benefit from the application of AI, e.g. language translation. But that does require both application software and storage space for the AI large models / neural networks required to provide an answer to query. Apart from the front facing camera placement, there is not much wrong with current iPad Pro hardware, so I am not overly excited by the Tue 7 May Apple event, because I agree, the biggest problem with the iPad Pro is the software, and that's both the OS and the apps, and Apple will fail to address that at this event. I also suspect if the iPad Pro gets the M4 chip, its primarily a re-badge M3 where the SoC has been updated to add more cores to the NPU to increase performance beyond current M3's 18 TOPS NPU and compete with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X series processors that all have 45 TOPS NPUs. If we are lucky, the "M4" chip will be built of TMSC's latest 3nm process which increases yields over the 3nm process used for the existing M3 chips.
yes, I think this is the only reason why they would release an M4 device now instead of the current M3 generation. it’s like they are trying to say, don’t buy the M3 devices, because you will need those additional cores from the M4 to do what’s coming in future software updates.
I’m guessing the new AI will be tied to a new chip of some sort rather than just software (and thus requiring a new iPad to access it), but I’m hoping I’ll be pleasantly surprised to the contrary.
Apple might be moving to do less significant hardware updates and more software ones. If ai works out for them it could allow them to maximize all code to make the software run faster on the same hardware like how you can play video on an Atari 2600 these days. The vision headset will get better because of updates way before they replace the hardware. So an iPad that won’t get updates is going to speed up by the OS and firmware updates. If they upgrade chips they can upgrade certain cores without upping the speed outside of them unlocking extra speed already built in to the same chip.
It’s like ppl hyping so hard on M4 or AI, either of these are not going to save iPad Pro lmao.
I want a 16inch screen that’s all I want 😢😢😢
I want a 16" iPad with Dual Boot iPad OS / Mac OS
Get a MacBook 😂

@@PSy84 I love my MacBook - so I beg to differ
Until we all watch the actual product launch..it's just all your speculation based on 'leaks'...you should save your energy until then...
Omg stop complaining lol

I don’t use half my M2 horse power let alone M4
Yeah, I wouldn't suggest upgrading for you.
For those who also have problems find the case it’s called Doqo iPad 12.9 case.
macOS integration is the 1st on my list too! I don't care about the hardware as much as it's fast enough.

Like it or not, A.I. will be integrated into all future smartphones, tablets & computers. I’m not a fan of A.I. but this is just a reality.
No Sense, for you!
Or just make the ipad a dual boot device.
