Good video, watchers a lot before i saw your video, i got te iPad Air because it’s cheaper then that no need insane m4 iPad , yeah i got the 13 inch and it’s to big bit i Will get used to it, finaly the thins you were saying Made all the sense in the world to me👍🏼
This is the comparison video I have been hoping to see. I appreciate you showing the size difference. My iPad mini 5 has been great for the last 5 years but I’d like a wider option for spreadsheets. While I think LiDAR and some of the pro functions would be neat to check out, I’m mostly a causal user. Thanks for helping with the decision making process. I think I’ll probably go with the 11 inch iPad Air. And I was happily surprised to see Best Buy will give me half what I paid for my iPad mini as a trade-in.
Dang man that’s an awesome deal! Have you looked at the old iPad Pro though to see if you can find any deals? Going from the mini 5 to the m1 iPad Pro would even feel like a massive upgrade! Thanks for checking out the video
I agree, went from the 12.9 iPad Pro (2nd gen) to the 13-inch iPad Air. I was so close to pulling the trigger on the 13-inch iPad Pro but came to the conclusion that if I wasn’t needing anything more (except battery life) from my 7 year old iPad there was no way I needed the Pro over the Air. Definitely made the right decision! I mainly use the iPad for content consumption.
I have the iPad Pro the limited with 512 gigs it cost about $1200 and it’s gonna be delivered tomorrow and I just think that is the best of way way too big. My big dog would lay on a big.
Once every 6 years… more than worth it to use the best humanity has to offer as far as tech goes. Life is short, get that nice new device that you’ll use every single day. Then again 1k isn’t shit to me lol
Honestly the biggest mistake is comparing them side by side which no one will do unless they go to an Apple Store. They each target a different market. I think the Air is great for most people. For me personally, I already had an older 10.5'' iPad Pro, it would have been a loss of pro motion and quad speaker sound. I was very disappointed with the 2 stereo speaker sound on the iPad Air 13 M2. A lot of people do like larger screens so it's good that it's now available on the Air. But again based on portability and just sitting around using it, I would recommend the 11''. If saving money is your only goal then it's a no brainer get the air. If you want a bit better and have the ability to spend more and future proof yourself then you cannot go wrong with the iPad Pro. This same discussion happens between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
Loved this video. Very easy going yet informative. I originally purchased the M4 13” pro but exchanged it for the 13” Air. Biggest adjustment is no promotion but a larger iPad was the most important. Getting used to the 60hz and realizing that I’m enjoying it even more knowing that it’s a better value purchase.
@@JonAdamsTechI need the bigger display for my university work. I like two divid my screen, sometimes in two, three, four different notes/apps. Therefore a bigger screen is a must for me
I use my iPad as my notebook (Goodnotes, OneNote). I currently have the iPad Air 4th gen, and I am extremely bent on getting the iPad Air 13". That extra bit of real estate might make note-taking experience a lot better.
I just got an iPad Pro m4 13”. It’s expensive, over the top and limited my software. But I already have a great desktop and use an iPad many hours every day for work. Nothing taxing but I appreciate an iPad that can work as a laptop and although unnecessary, having a really device to use makes me happy
I’m sticking with my first gen iPad Pro 11”. For what I use it for it still does a good job. With prices continuing to increase I’d probably go for an iPad Air when my current iPad stops working.
I also still have my first gen iPod pro 11 and what can I say!? It does its job perfectly!!! I just would prefer a bigger screen lately, since I started taking notes and journaling more serious, but my iPad is working flawless!! Don’t want to give up on it and buy an 13 air now. Also it kinda annoys me that the air doesn’t have a Face ID and just the touch sensor. It’s kinda stupid in my opinion. What’s your thought on that!?
I bought the iPad Pro 11 for my wife. It was hard to justify at first, but then I had a closer look at the improvements. The Pro has double the storage, a more vibrant 120 Hz screen, Face ID convenience , fuller sound, clearer microphones, much faster thunderbolt speeds, no pencil lag, improved magic keyboard and track pad, lidar sensor and true tone flash. The M4 processor should mean smoother operation for years to come - with more iOS updates. With all the improvements combined, I actually think the Pro is a worthwhile upgrade over the Air. (Though I do wonder does my wife notice 🤣)
THIS! This is exactly the comparison I've been looking for! The only factors that have been pulling me towards the Pro are the brightness, and the speakers. But even though I love the Pro much more than the Air, I cannot justify the price difference.
If you haven’t used 60hz screens it makes a big difference. I haven’t used 60hz in years. I’m shocked apple is still milking it with 60hz screens which is pathetic if you ask me. So in conclusion I personally could never use 60hz screens in 2024
@@JonAdamsTech I went with a Space Gray Air 13". I use a 144Hz 2K Monitor with my 144Hz 1080p 15inch laptop. Even coming from such a graphic-enthusiast level tech user, I barely notice the lack thereof on my iPad. I think the problem is glorification of higher refresh rate screens, and the "FOMO" factor being marketed by online tech fan/enthusiast base. I could just not stomach the absolutely disgusting speakers on the Air 11", and found the 13" device to have far superior speakers, and very much comparable to the 11" Pro. Hence, my choice. Instead of the Apple Pencil, I chose to go with a generic $15 Pencil from Amazon, so I still have my $100 Gift Card, which I might cash towards a new phone, saving bucks all around.
Thank you. I am trading in a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 inch and have been struggling to decide whether to get an 11-inch iPad Pro M2, an 11-inch iPad Pro M4, or just go with the Air. I do note taking, occasional gaming, and media consumption (Netflix, Max, Disney+, TH-cam). I think I am sold on the Air! Now I just have to figure out what size!
Thank you, you really helped me made my decision. Last time I got the IPad Air and always thought why I didn’t get the ipad pro. Now I am definitely getting the new iPad Pro. I love my old iPad Air but always feel like it not enough for what I use it for and always regret not getting the iPad Pro.
I’ve got a 9th gen iPad that still works perfectly fine for me. The main reason I want to upgrade now is so my phone and iPad could use the same charger. 😂
I bought the M4 Pro 13” with the nano screen yesterday and I returned it today and exchanged it for the 11” - I’m so glad I did. The 13” is too big and heavy to carry around. Awkward. I wanted an iPad. I’ve got it now - phenomenal. All the best. Joe
Im a senior Facilities manager and a Real Estate Agent in New York. I edit all of my listing videos and pictures on the pro and I also use it to mark pictures and draw apartment layouts for contractors. The screen is perfect for when i have to hold meetings outside and use the iPad for illustration, used it today and we were able to see the screen without a problem. It’s an awesome tool for people that are always on the move and love digital note taking. Im one of the few people that doesn’t want macOS on the iPad. I got my son the 13 inch air and it’s a beauty. Reality is you wont go wrong with either one. The screen is definitely the only noticeable difference and it’s only when they are side by side.
@@justbeingadad2599 that’s awesome! Yeah as for most things you only notice the difference when you have them right next to each other. The promotion display is really nice though!
I plan on getting the 13" device since I plan on using it for notetaking for college and studying for my actuarial exams. I like using two notebooks at once right now with paper/pencil, so I'm hoping the 13" size will allow me to do the same with split-screen.
Can you read books with a 13 inch tablet ? How easy or difficult is it because 13 inch seems better for videos and 11 inch is better for reading and portability. What if we need both…do we have to decide one thing over the other ?
I am in the same dilemma 11 Pro vs 13 Air, currently with 11' Pro 2020. But an important thing no one discusses, is sustainability of the investment. I use my iPads minimum 4-5 years and M2 is already 2-years old. So, I am worried how long this iPad Air will be supported with updates and whether after another 2 years it will become slow and clunky. As well as the base 128GB after a few years of use. M4 definitely has more years to live fresh and juicy. Glad to see other opinions.
Yeah it depends on what your budget is right now. When you spend more you’re really just buying a few years more out of the device, that being said old iPads still don’t feel slow so it’s really about how much you want to spend
I got a 13 air about 2 months ago. very happy with it, not seeing any shortcomings, I dont edit video on it though. I draw a lot with sketchbook and procreate and take work notes with goodnotes and notability, a little evernote too. not that easy to find a good case for it, I've gotten 3 from 3 different companies and they all fall down even if I havent touched it, like the ipad is too heavy for the magnets or the materials of the case. Yeah, sound on my first generation 9.7 ipad pro with 4 speakers is better, maybe even a lot better but not thats particularly important to me, i'm likely to earbud it.
I’m doing a case video this week on the ESR iPad case and it actually holds up pretty well with strong magnets, keep an eye out for that video to see if it would work for you. It’s a bit bulky but not too bad.
I am an iPad Pro 11 2018 user and so far I haven't encountered any problems. I want to upgrade to an iPad Air 13" but I'm worried that my eyes won't get used to the display.
what would it be more worthy, to buy the ipad pro M2 in 11" or the ipad air 6 13"?? they almost have the exact price, but the pro one is better than the air, talking about the screen. despite this, im looking for a bigger ipad than 11" and i cannot afford the ipad pro M2 in 13". what would u recommend me? is the ipad air 13" worthy or for that price or it would be better to buy the pro M2 in 11"? (ty for the review, i was needing it since apple released the new ipads)
I had been looking for a small portable monitor but making the purchase was difficult. It wasn’t something I’d use often but I did need it. In the end, I chose the 13” iPad Pro M4. Normally I wouldn’t go there but it’s large enough to use as my portable monitor needs and it won’t sit in my office unused most of the time. Just made more sense to get a large iPad that I’d use a lot vs a small portable monitor that wouldn’t get a lot of use. 🤷♂️ I can use my 15” MacBook and mirror the screen to the 13” iPad.
@@JonAdamsTech I literally just ordered the iPad Air 13” M2 last night for prime day after watching your video! It came out to $$760 including Apple care which was a good deal compared to the $867 prince on the Apple website for just the tablet alone. I’m looking forward to getting it. I ordered the Purple Air 13in with the pencil pro. Just haven’t decided which keyboard to order. I really really like the Magic Keyboard I just think that’s wayyy too expensive
I had an older MacBook Air 13” from 2015 that I used all throughout college, it’s getting slow and the battery is trash so hopefully I’m looking forward to this to replace it & be my everyday driver
Bought the Air13'', no need for the Pro, pricing is ridiculous. I'm using it for playing in a band so the big screen is an argument. I'm happy with it!
From someone who just upgraded to a pro from a 2016 iPad that chunked along just browsing webpages, one clever rational for the Pro is that it's about 30% faster and 30% more expensive after the 256gb memory upgrade on the Air, so it's way more future proofed for long-term iPad users like me, plus you get lots of the other Pro features. That's why I bought it over the Air.
Great video! The reason I went with the ipad air 13 inch was for school. I do a lot of research, write a lot of papers, and the larger screen has been great for writing and note taking. I also still use my smaller ipad 10 for work. I do think every ipad is for different people.
Ipad pro 13” works for me in an office environment i use it as a secondary computer and connect to an external monitor. I use it side by side with another computer and great for my meetings. I need camera as for my job meetings with our team cameras are required to be turned on
Are the 11-inch or 13-inch iPad Air models suitable for students taking notes in Goodnotes and for other academic work, or should I consider the iPad Pro ?
I really want to buy a 13-inch iPad and I had an iPad Pro 2024 11-inch and an iPad Pro 2022 13-inch in front of me, but I'm worried about the battery of the 13-inch Pro because the iPad 10 beat it in a previous comparison. What do you think and what is your advice to me?
I love this video! Such sensible and a slap on the face especially when you are unconsciously getting influenced by the hype. Thank you so much for this video.
$100 off 11” Pro from BestBuy, additional $50 for being a plus member this year. Need to get the 256 gig since I’m canceling iCloud. The air is $700, rather get the pro for the additional $150. Plus I usually keep my iPad till they die out which usually 6-7 years. Love the review and agree with everything you said but 🤷🏻♂️
What is the difference between the iPad Pro four speakers and the iPad Air landscape speakers? I like the iPad Pro that I have with four speakers, because I listen to TH-cam music and lectures?
This is my first iPad since 2010 and what a difference. This one is awesome. It’s a pro 4th gen 11 inch. It’s the best tablet I’ve owned, and paired with my iPhone 16 pro is awesome but my iphone screen is better.
Thanks for such an awesome review.I have a 2020 iPad Pro but the pro now is priced out of range for most.I think this round I will choose the air. Now to decide on size🤔
New to your channel Jon i like how cozy, relaxing, objective and to the point without being tiring is your video Definitely looking forward to more of your content, much love, keep doing what you are doing
Tnx for the video❤ im really breaking my head which one to buy for photo editing photoshop/lightroom i prefer not spending on the pro and get the 13” air but im afraid it wont work good with those two software.. any suggesting here 😅 ??
This is the video i was looking for. I cant decide between these two (In 256gb theres no big price difference). I really want bigger screen but pro 13inch its just too expensive. I have in plan to draw and take notes a lot so i would like bigger screen more (air 13inch) but the main thing why i cant decide is that my hands are sweaty a lot almost all the time😅😅 so in everyday use touch id on air wouldnt work as good as it should and it would be frustrating. Face ID would resolve this problem but i would have a bit smaller screen. So i would like to hear some advice from you what do you think would be better? Should I still get the air 13inch? Thanks in advance!
Yeah, I think you should get the 13 air. Have you used touch ID on the new iPads? It’s pretty sweet and I don’t know how much sweat would actually get in the way.
@@JonAdamsTech I havent used touch ID on the new iPads but i had been using touch ID in general and i remember that detecting my finger was a problem so thats why i suppose it would be problem on ipad air also which make me so undecided.
Apple has a really great no questions asked return policy. Get the air and if it doesn’t work make sure to return it before the two week period runs out!
Bought the 11 Pro. This is my 6th iPad going back to iPad 1. I wanted to experience the OLED display and hated the position of the FT camera on the last. Pretty amazing edition of the product. I think Apple hit a home run.
@@JonAdamsTech I hear you on the price, but if you compare the price on the base 11 pro vs the iPhone 15 Pro which is the same price it seems more reasonable. Fuzzy logic I know. Both are expensive.
Pro if you have spare money, FaceID is awesome like the iPhone. Forget the M4, M2 ram, my 2018 iPad is still running great, but I am using it as a HomeKit dashboard at home.
Great review! You never did a comparison between the two iPads regarding sound. Talking about the speakers, I used my iPad for music and mixing using DJ Pro for iPad!
After testing it there wasn’t a big enough of a difference to make a video about it. They sound pretty much the same which is amazing being that the new iPad is so much thinner
Hi Jon, awesome channel and very informative. Thx! When you make your youtube video, what do you use in your setup to create the depth-of-field / movie-like video effect? Maybe shooting with a DSLR for the video? Your insight would be amazing!
Hey! I normally shoot with three mirrorless cameras. I have a Sony A7iv with a 20mm f1.8 as my main camera, a Sony A7C with the sigma 24-70 f2.8 as my overhead camera and a Sony a6600 with the sigma 16mm as my C camera. Let me know if you have any other questions
Do you have any recommendations for the iPad Air 13-inch with 128 GB or 256 GB storage? I primarily use my iPad for taking notes, gaming, watching movies, and doing homework. However, I've noticed that the price of the iPad Air 13-inch 256 GB is quite close to the iPad Pro 11-inch 256 GB, which has left me feeling confused about which one to choose.
Looking into getting a iPad. The Air sounds great but man that 60hz screen is a buzzkill considering I'm used to 120 on all my other devices. So now I'm debating if I want to buy a brand-new iPad Air M2 or buy a older iPad Pro (2020-2022) models as they both go for around the same price point
I currently have iPad Pro 10.5” 2017 and planning on upgrade soon. Which one to buy, iPad Air M2 13” or iPad Pro M4 11”? Considering the price is similar for the 256gb storage (approx. $1000) and I still need to buy apple pencil as well. I am using it for media & note taking. For heavy use, I still have MBP M1 16 inch
@@JonAdamsTech I have do that but the price of m2 pro is insanely expensive, I might as well bought the newest product as the difference is less than 100-150 dollars
You are one of the very few showing off the 11’ M4 Pro. Thanks brother. I’m determined to switch from ‘18 12.9 to the new 11’ and do my photo and video editing. I have a large 16’ laptop and the 13 Pro is just big, right?
Yeah it’s just bigger than the 11. That’s my thought too, I’d rather have something not the same size as my laptop because if it’s close in size and power I’ll probably always go for my laptop over my iPad for real work. What laptop do you have?
You need to review the difference between the iPad Pro M2 (2022) and the iPad Air M2 (2024). I am struggling to pick one! It would be my first iPad too.
I will buy it for digital drawing in Procreate. I will usually work at my desk at home. Sometimes I can take the tablet to a cafe with my backpack. Which model would be most suitable? Also, do you think I should choose 256GB or 128GB for these needs? I'm short on money, I'm a graduate student.
I'm very undecided about the screen size. 11, 13? Moreover I do not make very detailed and multi-layered professional drawings. I will only do digital drawings for my portfolio, to improve myself and to make paintings. I have another Windows laptop. I do my graphic design work there.
I mainly use my iPad for drawing in Fresco and for Photoshop use, I would like to stay in the $1000 price range. Would you recommend the 11in iPad Pro or 13 inch Air?
If you’re a big time artist I’d go with the pro, but if that’s just part of what you do I’d use the air. Do you have your work posted anywhere, I’d love to check it out!
Which ipad should I buy 13 inch ipad air m2 or 11 inch ipad pro m4 for digital art and animation?????? And it will my primary device also Pls reply ❤❤❤❤
If it's your primary device, then that screen real estate is pretty important; go with the Air 13! I respond to all my comments so if you have any more questions just let me know!
Torn between 11in pro and 11in Air. Will use for notes as a network engineering major, media consumption, as well as a lot of PdF, excel, and outlook email as I’m also military and plan to do work task on it. Any thoughts? Great video by the way💯
@@JonAdamsTech I appreciate the advice advice I definitely spent 1hour in Verizon today and still couldn’t decide. Even thought about last generation pro vs the air. But I agree the price point is certainly hard to stomach which makes the air that much enticing
Maybe good idea to wait until clear what Features iPadOS 18 brings us , maybe then the M4 makes the difference. Also as alternative to take iPad Pro 2022 into account , to save money before choose the Air 2024. In the Moment my iPad Pro 10.5 is still enough. I take never the newest Models but I choose the Pro. Was worth the Money to spent for over six years of use.Nice devices with Long Support.
Now we know more. In the moment no big advantage to upgrade also if the iPad 10.5 not receive the new OS. In general the Air looks to be enough , but hard to downgrade the display if someone like me comes from the Pro line. In general the M2 should be more as enough for most users. In the moment I will wait and buy again a Pro but not newest Model and save money.
Hey there! I have a question, for uni. and watching movie-shows yt etc. Which one should i buy; ipad air m2 11" or ipad pro m2 11" (all of them with pencil tho) ? In my country the ipad pro m2 11" is 5k more than new ipad air so which one is better for long term? New ipad is 2 years younger and it will be get more updated that's the two reason im stuck with it: m2 pro price and update stuff... 🤷🏻♀️ and also is it big enough 11"? I want to buy the 13" but the price diff is literally 10k its so much tho. I would like to state that the iPad I bought can be updated for at least 6-7 years and that I want to use it for a very long time without lag or other problems.
the only pro 11 vs air 13 video i could find! i only need the pro for the brightness, and really don't know whether the 50 pounds more and smaller size is worth it. 500nits from my air isn't enough for my working conditions :(
I actually just returned my 13in iPad Pro 😅. I’m going to the the 11in instead plus it also has the oled display. The reduction in size should definitely be more comfortable plus I already have a 16in MacBook Pro M2 and don’t need another large device in my backpack weighing me down.
Hi. Thanks for your video. I have some questions. I haven’t find the answer yet…May be you know…What about eye fatigue between the Air or the Pro (Oled)? Is one display better for the eyes? What is the good distance to keep between eyes and 11’ iPad Air and 11´ iPad Pro? This may be relevant for those of us watching movies in bed with an iPad.. Thanks😉
I mean the iPad Pro has a better screen and will look better at lower nits of brightness and distance wise it should be the same distance you would have a laptop. Probably 18-24 inches away from your face.
Thanks for your videos.. I’m going to purchase one of these devices Saturday. Still not sure which one.. I’m leaving iPad Pro.. I think the 13” may be too huge hmm I dunno tho.. I’ll see when I get to the Apple Store
@@JonAdamsTech traded at Apple, I know I could have got a bit more selling aftermarket but the MacBook had some issues that wouldn’t be worth selling to someone, and got 70% value of my iPad
I'm a heavy GoodNotes user - I mostly use my iPad Air 4 for note-taking for studying, classes and work. I owned the iPad Air 3 prior as my first iPad, but I passed it down to my brother since the first Apple Pencil is a pain.. 😂 Currently eyeing on that 13" iPad Air, that screen estate is enticing and I'd like to not have my hand feel uncomfortable when writing at the far right edge of the screen. 😬
If you use it for that then yeah the 13 is amazing! I mostly type my notes so I think the 11 is right for me. I love that Apple now has an iPad size that is right for everyone!
so i want to buy myself an Ipad and I thought about getting the Ipad Air 13 since I am going to use it in school for goodnotes and because we are going to use split screen I guess it's better so I don't have to zoom in all the time. But everyone says that the 60 hz isn't good for such a big Ipad. I'm really worried about that since I am going to use it for 4 years. What do you think about that?
I don’t think it’s a big deal. Buy it and try it out. Apple has an amazing return policy that is no questions asked. But seriously you get used to it after like 10 min of using the iPad
I am currently using a 2nd generation iPad Pro and I’m considering getting the iPad Pro 13” M4 or iPad Air 13” M2. I mostly watch movies and lots of TH-cam videos like yours. I often use it for many hours throughout the day and I lean towards the Pro for the better visuals. In my experience the extra money is worth it on the eyes. Maybe I’m wrong but my eyes seems to enjoy it more and probably get less eye strain but maybe that’s just an excuse to buy nice shiny things 😂
Thanks for video...I think the iPad 11 is the best option for anyone who need to read, write, take notes, (in-academia) do observations in field work/hospitals...I conclude this after yachting your video..plz let me know if I am correct.
As an Air 5 owner, the iPad Air is the sweet spot in the lineup. You get a laminated display, Apple Pencil 2 support, and for all intents and purposes the same CPU power as the Pro. I would say the only reason to go with the budget iPad is if you don't plan to do any drawing at all. I got the Gen 6 iPad for my first iPad in grad school for note-taking and the Apple Pencil 1 on a non-laminated display was really just not a pleasant note-taking experience. Until they get rid of that air gap, I don't see myself going back to that budget model. It's really hard to justify the iPad Pro, especially now with Macs running on the same chips with a superior OS. One consideration is if you can find a prior iPad Pro model, say the M1, on certified refurbished. That is a situation where I could go for it as then you get a premium device at a similar price point as the Air. At the end of the day though, it is still an iPad running an OS that is never pushing the chip.
Just a thought: if you hold onto your kit until it no longer receives security updates, then that’s ~8 years. So a cost per year of a new pro model isn’t significantly more than of a certified refurb. The 10th gen is 2 yrs old in September so I wouldn’t rule out it being replaced in a few months. I’m on a 9.7 pro, so very tempted by a new pro, but I’ll try and wait it out until October.
@@JonAdamsTech Likewise. When the cost of iPhones suddenly, doubled with the X it just made me hold onto mine longer, which I was already doing because they removed the 3.5 Jack. So replace battery after 3 yrs, and make the phone last 6. Went from 5S to 11pro.
I have M2 11” IPad Pro. Majority of the time I’m taking notes, use it as a planner, movie entertainment and occasional drawing, and Minecraft gaming. Figured the pro is more than what I need or paid for. When I spotted the M2 13” IPad Air, I really liked the screen size and seems a good fit. Wow. But….the masters program I’m going into this fall tells me I be using iMovie for editing videos. I already have M3 MacBook Pro 14” to use for that. I saw the 13” M4 and I’m torn by the price and it’s too much power for me I’d think. Any thoughts?
Right. Could have kept my 11” M2 iPad Pro. After purchasing the 13” M2 Air……I fell in love. I’d never thought the 13” is perfect fit for me. I tried the OLED 13”. It’s beautiful, but the screen gives me fatigue and headaches. Also couldn’t justify the price. I be using my iPad for grading students progress in classes, use it as digital planner, some art leisure, note taking and surfing the web. If I want a nice OLED or Neo QLED screen for movies and tv shows, I can get a 55” samsung Neo QLED tv for $1,300 at Best Buy, where as……it costs $1,300 for base 13” M4 IPad Pro. It’s a laugh!
don't got the budget but I think I should buy the pro cu I'm a digitally artistic aand a professional cod player, should I? I think I'll buy 129 inch but the pencil doesn't. Work so I'm going with the 2024 11model
If apple added a touchscreen option macbook or air it would be a no brainer. If apple allowed macos to run on tablets that might balance things. Seems to me that apple is not willing to port macos to ipad or touchscreen to macbook to preserve a market for both.
i have decided to buy the iPad Pro 11’’ Instead of the iPad Air even though the price is a huge difference between the two iPads the PRO costing $400 extra I liked the OLED display on the Pro. I agree that the 13’’ Is too big when using the iPad as a tablet and that the Pro model is an overkill for most people but if the cost is not a concern then the iPad Pro is worth considering to buy.
i'm a college student and i wan an iPad for digital art and note making and also for making animations. so for me 13 inch iPad air and 11 inch Ipad pro are around of same cost Can you suggest me which i should get ?
First off congratulations, that sounds like an awesome opportunity for your son! Secondly, I think the 13 air is phenomenal for university students especially if it’s going to be their only device.
I am a engineering student i used a android phone If i buy an ipad is their will any problems of data sharing? It will be 1st apple products but i am confused which should i get My preference are 1.Note taking 2.PDF reading 3.Multimeadia consumption 4.Gaming(A little bit not hard core gamers) 5.Watching netflix and Amazon prime So Which should be preferable the 11 or 13 inch? As i am student my budget is limited In the 13 inch i have only 1 option Air M2 In the 11 inch option i have 3 options Air M2,Air 5 and Ipad 10th generation Sob Which should and what size and what storage should i buy for next 4 years to be used?
Great video!!! , after seeing a lot of videos about comparison, but the question is ; if I produce some reels, short videos, and a little photo edition, what iPad can u recommend, because I always see if im consumer iPad AIR and if i a producer then the pro, what do you think? THANKS!
The air is still plenty good for everything you’re talking about. I honestly think the pro is for digital artists and/or professionals that are making solid money with their craft.
i have the air 3rd gen(2019), i think this time i will go with the pro 11''. I have a windows laptop and i will wait to buy the mac mini m4(will be really cheap compared to macbooks).
Man the Mac mini is one of my favorite devices from Apple so that will be awesome! Hope you dig the 11inch! Is there a reason you wouldn’t just go for a MacBook Air to solve a few of those problems?
@@JonAdamsTech I use my iPad for taking notes, reading and marking up PDFs, and keeping everything in the cloud. I also love watching videos and series in bed with it.
Just sold my 11-inch iPad Pro M1 with the 2nd gen Pencil for $400. Decided to upgrade to the new 13-inch iPad Pro. My main reason wasn't the performance but the screen size. I love the extra space for drawing, and the OLED screen blew my mind! Plus, planning to use it for at least 6 years, so getting the M4 is definitely a better move for future-proofing than the iPad Air M2. Excited for the upgrade! 😄📱🎨
@@JonAdamsTech No, the iPad is not my main device. My main device is an ASUS ROG Strix Scar III with an RTX 2070, which I use for PC gaming, animation, 3D modeling, and video/photo editing. However, it's a heavy device, and with the charger and laptop, it easily weighs at least 5kg. So, whenever I travel, I carry my iPad to do all the work remotely.
@@JonAdamsTech that’s strange my iPad Air 13 inch has only one speaker working on the top right the top left doesn’t have anything come out but the bottom 2 does.
The thing is, there might not be a new one for a couple of years, so the last generation iPad Pro might still be a good value-except Apple has done it again with the new pro pencil. Can only be used on Air and Pro 2024 models.
This is like one of the best REALISTIC comparison videos! We get used to our devices and we will not compare them side by side except in the store 😅. And to be be honest the pro motion on the the iPad Pro is „too fast“ for me. I actually enjoy the slow swiping part. It gave me a headache in the store when I was swiping on the pro. Thanks for your video 😊
I had an iPad Pro from work until last year. To be honest, it was a €1000+ PDF annotator that I used to watch TH-cam on from time to time. For any "real" work, I have to switch back to my Mac anyway. I would sometimes like to have an iPad again, but the iPad Pro is just not worth €1000+ to me to watch a video on the train every now and then. I would have really loved a green version of the iPad Air, but the blue version doesn't look bad either. Either way, I'd rather wait for WWDC before I buy anything to see if they finally improve iPadOS.
Yeah the prices are insane if that’s all you’re gonna do on it, which is pretty much what all people do, light work and media consumption. We will see if they make the OS any better, I love the iPad but man that operating system holds it back!
Let me know what you think of the video!
Please also do a comaprison of the 2022 ipad pro (m2) vs 2024 ipad air
Good video, watchers a lot before i saw your video, i got te iPad Air because it’s cheaper then that no need insane m4 iPad , yeah i got the 13 inch and it’s to big bit i Will get used to it, finaly the thins you were saying Made all the sense in the world to me👍🏼
Belgian guy … hence the grammar
great review! crisp and sharp and direct to the topic. Thanks!
I need your wallpaper. Where to get?
Thanks for checking out the video
this is the most sensible and methodical review for real consumers, talked myself out of buying a $1000 TH-cam machine lol. good video!
Haha glad I could be of help! Are you going to get something else or just hold off for now?
Yeah that’s true it does. Good news is they’re both great devices and you probably will be happy with either of them. It’s a great time to be alive!
Nice! Glad you like it! What do you do that you needed the bigger display?
@@JonAdamsTechI need the bigger display for my university work. I like two divid my screen, sometimes in two, three, four different notes/apps. Therefore a bigger screen is a must for me
I use my iPad as my notebook (Goodnotes, OneNote). I currently have the iPad Air 4th gen, and I am extremely bent on getting the iPad Air 13". That extra bit of real estate might make note-taking experience a lot better.
Yeah it will be perfect for that!
I just got an iPad Pro m4 13”. It’s expensive, over the top and limited my software. But I already have a great desktop and use an iPad many hours every day for work. Nothing taxing but I appreciate an iPad that can work as a laptop and although unnecessary, having a really device to use makes me happy
Nice! Glad it works for you! What kind of desktop you rocking?
@@JonAdamsTech I’ve got a Mac mini m1 and a custom, mini its pc
I’m sticking with my first gen iPad Pro 11”. For what I use it for it still does a good job. With prices continuing to increase I’d probably go for an iPad Air when my current iPad stops working.
Yeah the air really is in a sweet spot price wise!
(Though I do wonder does my wife notice 🤣)
haha i feel you man, I gave my wife my 11 pro and she couldn't tell the difference from her super old iPad.... broke my heart lol
Solid review my guy. I'm considering purchasing the 13" iPad Air.
Hey I appreciate it! You should do it, the air is an awesome iPad!
THIS! This is exactly the comparison I've been looking for! The only factors that have been pulling me towards the Pro are the brightness, and the speakers. But even though I love the Pro much more than the Air, I cannot justify the price difference.
Yeah if those are your two main things the air is plenty good. Speakers don’t even sound all that different. What color air are you gonna go with?
If you haven’t used 60hz screens it makes a big difference. I haven’t used 60hz in years. I’m shocked apple is still milking it with 60hz screens which is pathetic if you ask me.
So in conclusion I personally could never use 60hz screens in 2024
I'm going with starlight
Is it your main device or is a laptop your main device?
60hz on the air will irritate you a lot if you are use to 120 hz pro
Thank you, you really helped me made my decision. Last time I got the IPad Air and always thought why I didn’t get the ipad pro. Now I am definitely getting the new iPad Pro. I love my old iPad Air but always feel like it not enough for what I use it for and always regret not getting the iPad Pro.
Nice! You’re gonna enjoy it, the pro is awesome!
I bought the peo the second time in a row and regret it why I did’t purchase the air😣
I’ve got a 9th gen iPad that still works perfectly fine for me. The main reason I want to upgrade now is so my phone and iPad could use the same charger. 😂
Haha that’s almost reason enough to do it man
Is ipad 2021 m1 suitable for call of duty mobile and upload it to you tube? Or what is the best option?
I bought the M4 Pro 13” with the nano screen yesterday and I returned it today and exchanged it for the 11” - I’m so glad I did. The 13” is too big and heavy to carry around. Awkward. I wanted an iPad. I’ve got it now - phenomenal. All the best. Joe
Nice! Yeah that 13 is massive for an everyday iPad. I pretty much only use it to preach from and do chord charts with
Picked up the 13 inch pro yesterday, its amazing and the keyboard is definitely worth it
Nice! Glad you like it! What kind of work do you do on the iPad Pro?
Does the keyboard have numbers on the top? I’ve the 12.9 Pro last generation and it has those

I plan on getting the 13" device since I plan on using it for notetaking for college and studying for my actuarial exams. I like using two notebooks at once right now with paper/pencil, so I'm hoping the 13" size will allow me to do the same with split-screen.
It’s massive so it just may!
Can you read books with a 13 inch tablet ? How easy or difficult is it because 13 inch seems better for videos and 11 inch is better for reading and portability. What if we need both…do we have to decide one thing over the other ?
Not they’re both the exact same experience with movies and books.
Some one said that the 13 air give shit quality when you zoom in and I will cuz imma. Artist
@@Beki_Playz I finally got the M4 Pro 13 inches. Quite happy with the display for watching videos which is my main use.
I’ve gone back and forth between the two and it hasn’t really been an issue at all
100% agree with you. iPad Pro is too expensive. And you can't even do the jobs that you do on Macbooks.
Yep! It’s insane. Do you have an iPad? If so whatcha got!
Or just buy a previous generation iPad Pro for a cheaper price it’s basically the same tech anyways.
what would it be more worthy, to buy the ipad pro M2 in 11" or the ipad air 6 13"?? they almost have the exact price, but the pro one is better than the air, talking about the screen. despite this, im looking for a bigger ipad than 11" and i cannot afford the ipad pro M2 in 13". what would u recommend me? is the ipad air 13" worthy or for that price or it would be better to buy the pro M2 in 11"? (ty for the review, i was needing it since apple released the new ipads)
Hey thanks for checking out the video. Personally I’d go with the m2 pro
Nice, what do you do on it that you need a portable extra display? It’s definitely an awesome iPad!
Already decided to get the iPad 13” air but just wanted to see a good review on what it’s about first, thanks !!
Thanks for watching! Did you get the 13 yet? If so what do you think of it?
Heck ya, it's awesome for chord charts and what not!
Nice! How are you liking it so far?
Great video! The reason I went with the ipad air 13 inch was for school. I do a lot of research, write a lot of papers, and the larger screen has been great for writing and note taking. I also still use my smaller ipad 10 for work. I do think every ipad is for different people.
Ipad pro 13” works for me in an office environment i use it as a secondary computer and connect to an external monitor. I use it side by side with another computer and great for my meetings. I need camera as for my job meetings with our team cameras are required to be turned on
Nice! What camera do you use for that?
@ i use the ipad’s camera
Which one should I pick, I don't own a MacBook and will use it as a notebook, for watching movies and, a bit of editing too ?
If it's the only device you'll get then you may want to consider going for the 13 just to have that larger screen size.
@@JonAdamsTechbut Air or Pro ?

The air is totally reasonable for that kind of workflow!
I appreciate you brother. One of the best thought out, non-repetitive reviews that's helped to make my choice (11' M4).

Not to worry about it, ipads last all day, just charge your device at night and you'll be fine with any ipad
I went with the iPad Air 11” it’s the perfect size for me. Thank you for a great video.

$100 off 11” Pro from BestBuy, additional $50 for being a plus member this year. Need to get the 256 gig since I’m canceling iCloud. The air is $700, rather get the pro for the additional $150. Plus I usually keep my iPad till they die out which usually 6-7 years. Love the review and agree with everything you said but 🤷🏻♂️
Sounds like you know what you’re doing!
What is the difference between the iPad Pro four speakers and the iPad Air landscape speakers? I like the iPad Pro that I have with four speakers, because I listen to TH-cam music and lectures?
They’re pretty much identical
This is my first iPad since 2010 and what a difference. This one is awesome. It’s a pro 4th gen 11 inch. It’s the best tablet I’ve owned, and paired with my iPhone 16 pro is awesome but my iphone screen is better.
Yeah if you were using an ipad from 2010 then this is a MASSIVE upgrade! How does it feel so far?
Thanks for such an awesome review.I have a 2020 iPad Pro but the pro now is priced out of range for most.I think this round I will choose the air. Now to decide on size🤔

Nice! Yeah it’s an amazing iPad, with so much tech built into it but man that price point is hard to stomach!
@@JonAdamsTech I hear you on the price, but if you compare the price on the base 11 pro vs the iPhone 15 Pro which is the same price it seems more reasonable. Fuzzy logic I know. Both are expensive.

Something I’m ver curious about and don’t see much is how the batteries compare 🤔 do they last the same?
Air is better in my experience
Great review! You never did a comparison between the two iPads regarding sound. Talking about the speakers, I used my iPad for music and mixing using DJ Pro for iPad!
After testing it there wasn’t a big enough of a difference to make a video about it. They sound pretty much the same which is amazing being that the new iPad is so much thinner
Hi Jon, awesome channel and very informative. Thx! When you make your youtube video, what do you use in your setup to create the depth-of-field / movie-like video effect? Maybe shooting with a DSLR for the video? Your insight would be amazing!

If that’s your budget I would personally choose the 11 pro 256
Looking into getting a iPad. The Air sounds great but man that 60hz screen is a buzzkill considering I'm used to 120 on all my other devices. So now I'm debating if I want to buy a brand-new iPad Air M2 or buy a older iPad Pro (2020-2022) models as they both go for around the same price point
Get the m2 pro! It’s an amazing iPad with the pro motion display

That’s coming out this week!
I’d get the 11 personally!
Thanks! I don’t have any posted yet, but hopefully soon 😊 I ended up just ordering the Pro 13inch, I’m excited for it to get here.

Torn between 11in pro and 11in Air. Will use for notes as a network engineering major, media consumption, as well as a lot of PdF, excel, and outlook email as I’m also military and plan to do work task on it. Any thoughts?
Great video by the way💯
Thanks man! I think you’d be completely fine with the Air. It’s plenty powerful!
@@JonAdamsTech I appreciate the advice advice I definitely spent 1hour in Verizon today and still couldn’t decide. Even thought about last generation pro vs the air. But I agree the price point is certainly hard to stomach which makes the air that much enticing
You got a sub man. Love your videos. Super informative and genuine
Hey I appreciate it!
Yeah that 10.5 iPad still definitely holds up today. Thanks for checking out the video!
Go with the air if you want to get the maximum amount of time out of the device
@@JonAdamsTechreally? I know the price is ridiculous but i figured the pro would get updates for longer since it has a M-4 vs the M-2.
the only pro 11 vs air 13 video i could find! i only need the pro for the brightness, and really don't know whether the 50 pounds more and smaller size is worth it. 500nits from my air isn't enough for my working conditions :(
If you need it for work then I’d go pro, it’s a tool to get your job done efficiently
I actually just returned my 13in iPad Pro 😅. I’m going to the the 11in instead plus it also has the oled display. The reduction in size should definitely be more comfortable plus I already have a 16in MacBook Pro M2 and don’t need another large device in my backpack weighing me down.
Hahah yeah and that 13 with the screen is insanely heavy! Also that 16 inch MacBook Pro is 🤌
I’m debating between the 11” in either the M2 Air or the Pro. Before tax the difference for me is $280. With that in mind, is it worth it for the Pro?
What’s your budget?
I'm trying to figure this out too. PWM might also be a part of it. 120hz pro vs 60hz air. I think the lesser might be less triggering.
Thanks for your videos.. I’m going to purchase one of these devices Saturday. Still not sure which one.. I’m leaving iPad Pro.. I think the 13” may be too huge hmm I dunno tho.. I’ll see when I get to the Apple Store
Yeah that 13 is really huge, not sure I could use it every day. Let me know what you end up going with!
The 11 is perfect size
@@JonAdamsTech I ordered the 11in pro.. my wife is picking it up as I type some she works near that mall.. can’t wait to play with it
Btw at the Apple Store they told me a lot of people were either buying the 11inch pro or the 13inch air
I traded a 2020 MacBook Pro I rarely used and my iPad 9th gen, to just use one device. I decided on the 13in air and can’t wait for it to come in.
That’s awesome! Did you trade them in to the Apple Store or just sell them on the after market?
@@JonAdamsTech traded at Apple, I know I could have got a bit more selling aftermarket but the MacBook had some issues that wouldn’t be worth selling to someone, and got 70% value of my iPad
I'm a heavy GoodNotes user - I mostly use my iPad Air 4 for note-taking for studying, classes and work. I owned the iPad Air 3 prior as my first iPad, but I passed it down to my brother since the first Apple Pencil is a pain.. 😂
Currently eyeing on that 13" iPad Air, that screen estate is enticing and I'd like to not have my hand feel uncomfortable when writing at the far right edge of the screen. 😬
If you use it for that then yeah the 13 is amazing! I mostly type my notes so I think the 11 is right for me. I love that Apple now has an iPad size that is right for everyone!
how long does ur ipad air 4 battery last using goodnotes? my drains completely in 3h30 without wifi 🧍♂️
so i want to buy myself an Ipad and I thought about getting the Ipad Air 13 since I am going to use it in school for goodnotes and because we are going to use split screen I guess it's better so I don't have to zoom in all the time.
@@JonAdamsTech okay thanks!!
Just get an 11 inch that way you can also use your iPad as an iPad when you need to
I am currently using a 2nd generation iPad Pro and I’m considering getting the iPad Pro 13” M4 or iPad Air 13” M2.
Hey man if you have the budget go for it! But I think the air is also a really solid choice
Thanks for video...I think the iPad 11 is the best option for anyone who need to read, write, take notes, (in-academia) do observations in field work/hospitals...I conclude this after yachting your video..plz let me know if I am correct.
It’s a great iPad! The good news is that you really can’t go wrong with any of them, it just depends on how much you have budgeted for the purchase
Totally agree man! And yeah dude if people find a good price on an m1 iPad Pro that thing still feels like new!
@@richardlloyd2589 yes that’s a great argument for getting the one you actually want. Solid point. I do that with phones for sure
What matters more to you power or saving money? Thats what it really comes down to. The pro will also be good for another 2ish years than the air.
Yeah totally if you make money with it then you’re a professional and should go with the pro
So where is the wallpaper link? I'd like to buy.
If apple added a touchscreen option macbook or air it would be a no brainer. If apple allowed macos to run on tablets that might balance things. Seems to me that apple is not willing to port macos to ipad or touchscreen to macbook to preserve a market for both.
Yep it’s definitely a business move and while it’s frustrating I understand why they wouldn’t want to cannibalize an entire portion of their sales
iPadOS is garbage and iPads at least the Pro should run full MacOS. The hardware is pointless when the software is a glorified iPhone.
i have decided to buy the iPad Pro 11’’ Instead of the iPad Air even though the price is a huge difference between the two iPads the PRO costing $400 extra I liked the OLED display on the Pro. I agree that the 13’’ Is too big when using the iPad as a tablet and that the Pro model is an overkill for most people but if the cost is not a concern then the iPad Pro is worth considering to buy.
i'm a college student and i wan an iPad for digital art and note making and also for making animations.
so for me 13 inch iPad air and 11 inch Ipad pro are around of same cost
Can you suggest me which i should get ?
Might as well go for the pro if you’re doing animation and art, you’re the 1% of people who the pro actually makes sense for!
@@JonAdamsTech if i go with iPad air m2, will i face any issues in performance in animations ( not that pro level )
I'm considering buying a 11" or 13" air for my son. He is going to medical University, which one do you think is better for notes and lectures? thanks
First off congratulations, that sounds like an awesome opportunity for your son! Secondly, I think the 13 air is phenomenal for university students especially if it’s going to be their only device.
I am a engineering student i used a android phone
If i buy an ipad is their will any problems of data sharing?
It will be 1st apple products but i am confused which should i get
My preference are
1.Note taking
2.PDF reading
3.Multimeadia consumption
4.Gaming(A little bit not hard core gamers)
5.Watching netflix and Amazon prime
So Which should be preferable the 11 or 13 inch?
As i am student my budget is limited
In the 13 inch i have only 1 option Air M2
In the 11 inch option i have 3 options Air M2,Air 5 and Ipad 10th generation
Sob Which should and what size and what storage should i buy for next 4 years to be used?
I really like the m2 air if this is going to be your only device. Its a really incredible iPad
@@JonAdamsTech 11 or 13 inch what should be preferable ?
Great video!!! , after seeing a lot of videos about comparison, but the question is ; if I produce some reels, short videos, and a little photo edition, what iPad can u recommend, because I always see if im consumer iPad AIR and if i a producer then the pro, what do you think? THANKS!
Air
The air is still plenty good for everything you’re talking about. I honestly think the pro is for digital artists and/or professionals that are making solid money with their craft.
@@JonAdamsTech thanks a lot!!!!!
I ended up getting the air 128gb in 11”. I wanted the pro but the cost difference is not worth it for what I’m going to do.
That’s a solid iPad!
What are you gonna do ?
i have the air 3rd gen(2019), i think this time i will go with the pro 11''.
I went with the 13 air, I have a MacBook Pro 14 for real computer work, this is mostly for entertainment use and maybe some light editing.
Solid choice!
Nice! Glad you were able to sell off that old iPad! Is the iPad your main device or do you also have a computer?
@@JonAdamsTech No, the iPad is not my main device. My main device is an ASUS ROG Strix Scar III with an RTX 2070, which I use for PC gaming, animation, 3D modeling, and video/photo editing. However, it's a heavy device, and with the charger and laptop, it easily weighs at least 5kg. So, whenever I travel, I carry my iPad to do all the work remotely.
That’s awesome, I love building desktop PCs. In fact, I’ve thought of starting another channel just for PC stuff.
I liked the idea of investing in the macbook air as compared to these expensive ipads. You could do much more with the macbooks.
Yep 100%
How will the Pencil Pro perform on the Air compared to the Pro? I'm doing note-taking + math work, no drawing.
It feels a little more choppy because it’s not pro motion. Thats only when moving the lencil really fast
quick question does only one speaker play up top and two on the bottom? for the ipad air 13 inch
Nope it has two up top and two on the bottom
@@JonAdamsTech that’s strange my iPad Air 13 inch has only one speaker working on the top right the top left doesn’t have anything come out but the bottom 2 does.
The best review of new iPads that I have ever watched on TH-cam 👍 Thank you 💐
Hey I appreciate it!
The thing is, there might not be a new one for a couple of years, so the last generation iPad Pro might still be a good value-except Apple has done it again with the new pro pencil. Can only be used on Air and Pro 2024 models.
Yeah that’s why everyone needs to decide if they’ll want to upgrade sooner than later . Thanks for checking out the video!
Hey I appreciate the kind words! Glad you found the video helpful
Where did you get the wallpaper in the iPad Air?
Check the link in the description.
We will see if they make the OS any better, I love the iPad but man that operating system holds it back!
great comparison that is actually sensible viable compared to other reviews
Thanks mate!
what would u suggest for someone who has a m1pro macbook pro and a not a lot of budget
Just go with the regular 10th generation iPad. It’s awesome and super cheap
