      Specificity which video/s. I’m looking for a routine for my daughter, she is 7, so as easy a routine would probably be best. She has curly hair that desperately needs revitalizing!! I have stick straight hair so this is a whole new world for me. All guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

      Ma H hey, I know your question wasn’t directed at me but I’d love to help.
      You should use a sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner for your daughter. Some good brands that I’ve tried are Shea Moisture, Maui Moisture and Sukin. The shampoo and conditioner don’t have to be specifically for curly hair, but as long as they don’t contain sulfates and silicones they would be fine.
      For styling products, it’s not necessary to use a ton of products. I used to use a few but now I just stick to one product. You should try finding a good leave-in conditioner or some sort of curl cream to add moisture to your daughter’s hair. Maybe you could try one of Shea Moisture’s leave-in conditioners or Cantu which is more affordable.
      When drying her hair, don’t use normal towels. You can use micro-fibre towels or just a t-shirt. That way you’ll avoid having any frizz in her hair.
      Try deep conditioning her hair once a week to maintain healthy, moisturised curls. I recommend Maui Moisture’s Shea Butter deep conditioner. It’s really good and it smells great.
      I hope I was a bit helpful, if you have any questions I’d be happy to answer.
      Best of luck!

      Can you please share your link to your updated shea moisture routine video. I saw your DevaCurl routine but not Shea Moisture. Do you use DevaCurl more now? Is SheaMoisture heavier? Also two of the products you listed in video don't look like they are made anymore. Thanks for your videos! I'm new to the curly hair routine, trying to go all natural and have same hair as you...I am eager to learn!

    Hi! I've been following this regimen since a few days after you posted it, it's been an internal struggle to stay away from the flat iron I must admit.. I miss the ease of straightening my hair and being good for a few days without the daily styling. I'm lazy I know... I do absolutely love the curly look and I know i can achieve it so I'm definitely going to keep it up! Question for you, what do you do to your hair at bedtime? I fall asleep on my hair and it gets all flat in the back. Also.. great idea from the other viewer, a 2nd day hair video would be soooo helpful. Thank you for all you do!

    • @JoyBeforeHer
      @JoyBeforeHer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not straightening often will save your hair from so much damage! keep it up :) I put my hair in a "pineapple" at night, which is bringing my hair up into a ponytail at the top of my head, and put a hair tie around just once. I will work on a video about what I do! Thanks for watching!

    I’ve been using deep conditioner from this brand around once a week or every other wash or so, plus the shampoo and conditioner and then the a curling smoothie and that’s it. That’s all I need, If I need to blow dry it then I use a heat protection from Shea moisture as well and my difusor. Sometime si think less is more 😅

And how many time do you diffuse your hair throughout the week? .. I’m starting to embrace my curls and trying it the natural way like you are so I’m hoping to get some pointers... sorry for the many questions it would really help thank you

    I don't know how you still get volume with all those products. I use that enhancing curly smoothie and that's it, I have much loooonger hair than you, and my hair gets like oily instantly, the curls look nice and really well defined but no volume like I would like. I have Cantu too, the curl activator, if I use it alone, my curls kinda look weird, like some flat parts so I use a bit of the SM one. They helped a lot my hair, they look really healthy, but I don't get that nice volume T_T. I bought some DevaC products, because of you HAHAHA, I hope they work better for me, but I'm searching what else could I buy, cause well, DevaC are a bit expensive for me T_T.

    Your hair is beautiful. May I ask if it is nessary to use all of these products? I love these products but do not care for some of the smells. Do u find using these all together makes your hair smell weird? Just sub

      Lisa Baray honestly with shea moisture products the smell is usually not overpowering, and they usually smell good all together, don't worry about the smell though c:

    what if you use only the curl enhancing Smoothie can they still look like the ones you have ?

    • @JoyBeforeHer
      @JoyBeforeHer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most likely not. My hair doesn't do well without gel. The smoothie is too heavy for my hair to use alone because I add a very little bit of it

    I never brush my hair after showering. I thought that was a no no. What kind of brush did you use?

    • @luciat9641
      @luciat9641 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kim Picklesimer she uses a denman brush

    • @LevelheadedWilliamNatalie
      @LevelheadedWilliamNatalie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kim Picklesimer denman brush. Only use on actual wet hair, not damp hair. Most only use it to make sure their products get distributed evenly and for definition but not for detangling.

    • @JoyBeforeHer
      @JoyBeforeHer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This brush is a detangling brush. I use it to detangle and distribute the product in my hair. It's never caused any damage or breakage, but if you're uncomfortable with a brush you can just finger detangle

    Is your hair cut in short layers or do you have bangs? I always get long layers but I'm really loving the shorter pieces by your forehead

    • @JoyBeforeHer
      @JoyBeforeHer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have short layers on the top, my hair has grown out a lot since this video. But I still keep my hair layered with layers in my crown area. It's not really bangs cuz they're a little longer than that but that's what helps with my volume
