- i didn't know that cutting your own hair is so easy
Hey there, welcome back to My Beauty Corner! Today, I've got something a little different for you. So, I may or may not have snagged some scissors from my boyfriend/husband...again. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures, right?
i didn't know cutting my own hair would be so easy
I decided to take matters into my own hands and cut my own hair. Yep, you heard that right! It's been years since I last attempted this.
All you need are good hair scissors - no kitchen scissors, please!
And if you're ready, welcome to my Beauty Corner Salon!
If you have any questions, requests, or tips of your own, please leave them in the comments below. I love hearing from you and helping you feel confident and beautiful in your own skin.

I am in my 70s, with long hair. So fed up of the inflated salon prices and still ending up with haircut that I'm not happy with. Yesterday I cut my own hair and I'm sooooo pleased with it . OK it is rounded at the back a but, but I don't mind now. Overall my hair looks fabulous this morning. Than you so much for this video. I too will not be going to the salon now. ❤
I am so happy it helped 😌
"OMG, this hair cutting method is a total game-changer! I used to have so many split ends, but now my hair feels so much healthier and looks way better.
I am so happy in worked for you 😌
I cut my hair this way too. I actually cut myself a fringe last week too, chopping off around 8 inches. This method definitely works!
My husband just did this on me & I gotta say I luv my haircut my hair feels a lot lighter & looks aloot healthier 💛💚thank you sooo much for your beautiful tips🥰
Thanks for sharing!! Happy to hear that 🤍
Hello from Germany, I just cut my hair (2 rubberbands) with your method. It looks fabulous !!! You saved me money and time. I normally pay for haircut 70 Euro. Last time I was very unhappy with my colur and cut so much so, that I thought I wasted 170 Euro on both and looked like DIY made. Now I cut it with your method and colouring it with box colour for 7 Euro. Saved: 160 Euro plus tipp. Thanky you for this video and your great personality which encouraged me to just do it :) And my hair feels great and I feel self-empowered now, not depending on others with my hair.
That’s great! Thank you for sharing 😌
I have very wavy hair and I did this method and I loved it! It has a slight u shape but that’s exactly what I wanted. I didn’t want it straight across my back anymore. Anyway, loved it so much I did it on my 4 year old too and it looks great. This haircut woulda cost me $50+ at the salon. Thank you!
I am so happy it worked 😌
I am only 14 and I tried by myself, it was so successful, everyone liked it,thank you sister😅❤❤❤❤
I am so happy! I wish I would have this tutorials when I was 14 and was cutting my hairs 🤣🤣🤣 it was a disaster
Oh my! Thank you for this. I just followed your direction and cut 4 -5 inches of BAD ends off my still waist length hair! It's perfect!
Not only is this extremely helpful, but you’re also adorable and you have a good sense of humor 😂❤
Thank you 🥹🤍
Its good that you wet your hair, then combed it and secured the elastics, but next time part your hair then brush and put in the elastics that way your hair is sitting were it should when you cut it. Also overdirecting everything to the front gives you a v or u in the back, so as long as your fine with that this haircut works. Your hair looks so healthy and shiny good job 👍
how to make it straight in the back?
@@ellyspace5874 try using a mirror to see the back of your head and use a comb and try your best to part it straight or get a friend to help you.
@@ellyspace5874 after you cut it with the beard method, you can pull it back in a ponytail (still parted down the middle) and try to get it smooth and all. then put the elastics down the pony tail and cut the end it might fix the "U" shape
👍🌺👍🌺👍🌺
First of all you’re beautiful ❤second, no matter the technique, I’m just happy to see that other ladies cut their OWN HAIR! I’ve refused to pay exorbitant amounts for someone else to cut my hair when I can do it myself? I’ve used a similar technique for years, from the USA ❤TEXAS 🇺🇸 I appreciate you and this video!😊
thank you 😌🤍
Thank you for this. I cut my hair today following your instructions, and it came out alright! So glad I don't have to make a trip to the hairdressers for a very simple trim
Wonderful!🔥
I've been putting off cutting my hair and i absolutely hate going to hairdresser as i get charged a lot for long hair even though I just want a trim. This worked like charm - absolutely thrilled!!! ❤
🔥🔥🔥
Cut your hair within a few days of a full moon and it will grow back faster. Cutting it after the full moon it will grow slowly. I've done this for 50 years and it works.
I loved your video, I don't like anyone else cutting my hair, but as I have got older (60) and have bad eye sight it's harder to see, iv'e had to rely on my son ,you have given me the confidence to give it a go, and made me smile .Thank you.
I am so happy it helped 😌
Same i feel weird people cutting my hair! I like cut it myself i also cut it with machine to my husband.
This is the best method ever!!! So easy. Literally every girl needs to know about this. Just did it and my hair feels GREAT! And it’s even. I didn’t even need to do the four sections at the end :)
I am so happy it worked for you 😌
Tried it a couple of days ago and I've never been sooo happy after a haircut!! After your video I got the idea of trying to cut my own hair and it turned out that my hands are growing from the right place😁 Thanks a lot for showing this method, it will save me a lot of money since the prices for just doing a straight cut are crazy...
It so great! Happy to hear that 😌
Perfect! I’ve been wanting to cut my hair but I couldn’t find a cut for the shape I wanted until I came across yours! Can’t wait to try it tonight
Glad I could help! 😌
Exactly, I'm from Iran, around the Caspian Sea. We say that you have to cut your hair during the full moon!
@@melp2707If you believe in myths sure
@@warmekipLol right!
@@melp2707 dude if that was true i would never cut my hair on a full moon. my hair is 4x the thickness of average hair.
Great video for a self haircut tutorial! This method is very good. Thigh I'd recommend investing in a pair of hairdressing scissors/shears, those are gonna make your job much easier!
Thank you for this! I have had short layered hair for many, many years, since I had thin hair and wanted volume (which was always a pain to upkeep cutting of layers and not always leaving the salon with the same results - in addition and all the styling involved) During the "pandemic" I stopped going and grew my hair out (eventually to 1 length - typically to the middle of my back) became very long and every once in while needed a trim of split ends. I have very thin hair. One salon actually charged me $50 + tip to cut 1-1/2 inches off straight one length hair! Next salon - $28 + tip for the same (5 minutes worth of work) multiple times. Have been putting off going back again (not only the money aspect but the constant chatter and "upselling of product" which I cannot stand because I research my own products. Recently my hair has gotten way too long and lots of ragged edges. Always fearful of cutting my own hair. I saw this video (watched multiple times) - you made me feel "brave" so ordered some salon sissors from Amazon. Followed your tutorial and it total start to finish (cut 4 inches off) in less than 10 minutes with great results.
I am so happy it worked for you 😌
Beautiful, it even looks soft and silky. I will be cutting alot off this week. Haven't cut hair un 2 yrs
This self-styling cut technique for long hair works, I've tried it now, and I hope you enjoy your new self-style!
Yeah, it feels so refreshing after hair cut 😌
Just did it. My mom had to help me cut some uneven pieces but overall I call it a success. I only cut about 2.5 inches off because I wanted to leave hair in case I had to get it fixed. Next time I’ll cut more.
Thank you so much for posting this cutting suggestion, because I Just cut my own hair a few days ago and took about 3 inches off, but I felt like it needed to be more precise and this technique helped me to perfect my recent cut. Thanks!!!! 👍
You are so welcome! 😌
This is the first video from you that i watched... and girl YOU ARE SO SWEET. I really REALLY enjoyed the time that i was watching you. Keep going girl❤❤
thank you so much 🤍 you made my day 😌🙈
❤❤ Adding one more success story to this feed. 😊 Started my hair journey 2 months ago. Thank you for making a real video. I love how you include 100% authentic you.
Thank you 🤍
You make it look so effortless! My hair is past my waist and I desparately need a haircut. I'm contemplating just doing it, it's just scary.
Thanks for the video! Your confidence and relaxed vibe made me feel at ease with cutting my own hair. Was very happy with the results! Enjoyed your sense of humor and happy energy 🌸
This video is super cute and funny. Just tried it out myself and I'm happy with the outcome, especially since it left me €50-60 richer 🥰
I am so happy it worked for you 😌
Didn’t come out in a V shape or rounded (soft U) in the back like hers? I’m worried I will get a V. Definitely don’t want that to happen.
I'm a student in middle of my exams and I can't be bothered to spend a small fortune on just trimming my hair a little (I don't want any specific styling or layering). This tutorial is a godsend. It worked pretty well for me 💗
Thank you, happy it helped 😌
Very helpful and to be honest it saves me my 50 eur. By the way in France I never find anyone who can satisfy my haircut. They always making something what is suitable to them and after each haircut I am always disappointed
Well your tutorial much better and it's free
Thank you
I really don’t understand why hairdressers behave like they are artists with unique vision. And more i research, more i understand that it’s really not so hard to do a hair style. But somehow they feel that they know what you need better than you 😅
@@irinareina Exactly!
Girl!! I just cut my hair with your technique and I am loving it 😍😍😍😩 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL!!!! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💖
I'm so glad!😌🤍
The “moon thing” is a thing here in Brazil as well lol
Excellent video and cutting method! This really works, mine came out perfectly in a nice even curve in the back. Yes you really have to be careful to get hair as tight as possible because lumps will cause unevenness. Another really weird thing is later on I wanted to make sure it was even and did same from beginning, brushed tightly and wet hair and tied my hair tight and the hairs were all crooked and different lengths!! I did everything the same as earlier, very strange! So try not to go back because you will keep cutting the ends and your hair will get too short, I know because I made that mistake last year when I first tried this method. It ended up so short!
Thanks for the tips 🤍
omggg i love you smm ur hair is so pretty it's crazy!! I always do this technique it's always so perfect!!

Everyone--male and female--should know basic methods like this to cut their own hair. Even if you are a loyal salon goer. Covid showed us that you can't always rely on these outside services to be there. Yes, people are scared to mess up but think back to all the times the SALON messed up your hair? It happened to all of us at least once. At least if you screw up, it's free.
I started cutting my hair (and having lots of mishaps) when I was in my early teens and my mom and a family friend would cut it before that. Went to the salon a few times when friends and family kept trying to get me to go because "it's soo much better". But I was just never blown away enough by a salon cut or the experience to want to spend that amount of money just to save myself a bit of work (plus with how long it takes them to do your hair plus getting there and back, it takes waay more time). Salons are so expensive and nine times out of ten, you just don't get what you want anyway.
Now I react to the hard water we have in this region (my hair hates it) and just trying to get a salon to agree to not washing it there and me bringing my own water to spray it feels like too much work to even attempt. So I'll just keep doing my own hair and saving tons of time and money to spent on hobbies or more products for home care instead.
So true! Thank you for sharing 😌
You're smile is so so sweet 🥰🥰 it can make someone's day happy 😊
🥹🥹 thank you so much
@@irinareina no need
I also do this method at home! I am currently on a hair health journey and cut it about 2cm yesterday night as well!
I rarely watch videos like this, but I’m so glad I clicked on this one!! Thank you!! 👏 😊

You did amazing
Thanks 😌
Спасибо большое! Наконец-то я нашла годную идею, как освежить кончики своих длинных волос и не запутаться в них! =)

Ага, я тоже вчера так попробовала - неплохо получилось.

Thank you. Just did it and it looks great
It looks great, not too short.
thanks 😌
Worked good enough. Now my hair is healthy enough to dye the roots so I can go to the hairdresser without utter shame. Also this was the easiest tutorial of the many I went thru ❤❤❤
Thanks 🤍
I just did it and it worked for me! So simple and effective.
Great! I am so happy it was helpful 😌

спасибо, у меня всё замечательно 😌
This looks beautiful. Tomorrow I cut off the dry, dry, dry 3-4”. I’m not sure I can get your beautiful looking results but I know my hair will feel healthier.
How did it go? 😌
@@irinareina Still trying to brave up. I’ll get there.
I did mine yesterday - around 4.5 inches 😮 it turned out nice 😊 my hair is one length and blunt cut as no layers so a bit heavy as my hair is very thick but I don’t want to thin it out, hopefully it grows longer as well even if I have to coconut oil the ends every night haha ❤
Great job, fun time! ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
You don't even need the rubber bands . just part it , pull it forward and cut it . Ive been doing it for years
Forward? Not down?
Let her do the way she likes
Oh, my hands are not straight for that 😂
I just smiled at your video the whole time. I'm gonna try this tomorrow😊
did it work? 😌
@@irinareina Absolutely, Thanks for the tips 😉
One thing that is necessary is a very straight middle part. Otherwise, the length will not be even. Another thing is to use hair cutting shears. Amazon has them and so does Sally Beauty,
Thank you 😌
Hehe boyfriend / husband 🥰😂 love it
Tried it today! I have about 2c hair (with a few 3a pieces). I previously had layers and dead ends. Now my hair has more volume at the bottom and is nicely rounded (more than hers and almost slightly pointy, bc of the previous layers). I also took more off than expected so beware of that! 😅 but overall really nice, thank you!
Yes! I also cut too much, I feel like I lost a lot of length 😅 but it feels so healthy though
THE MOON PHASE / relatable as a Slavic Witch!!! I recently cut mine in the waxing phase and was like FML! lol
I would recommend a professional pair of scissors I did what you did used some small pair of my boyfriend I spent like 20$ at Sally’s for a pair of haircutting shears and omg cuts through like butter 🧈 so satisfying to say the least. love your video very informative ❤
I should definitely get one, because I am planning to use this technique from now on, thank you 🤍
This is a method that always works, I cut my hair this way already 😂
Irina, thank you for making this tutorial! I did this a couple of days ago and my hair looks good. I had been looking for a video with a method that didn't scare me lol. You have a relatable personality and ease about you, so I will continue to watch your videos.
I am happy it worked for you, welcome to the community 🤍😌
I think this length suits you very much! We have very similar hair..I very rarely go to a salon to just cut it but since i had my daughter 3 years ago its a little difficult to go with a baby/toddler there, so I get my husband to cut it (and he does a good job)😁 Those scissors you are using look really small for hair though! You must have had a lot of patience to cut it
I was actually surprised how good this length looks. I was usually going for extra short or extra long 😅
Thank you for your comment and support 🤍
Your natural hair is lovely, nice nails too. In Bulgaria we also have this about the moon phases. I cut my hair only on certain moon days 😁😁🥂наздоровье

You did an excellent job, and I can see from the comments that people are INSANELY jealous of you, so please, disregard all those petty, envious comments. You're a beautiful, fit, young woman with a gorgeous, thick mane of healthy blonde hair, so unfortunately dealing with insecure, spiteful, jealous people who go out of their way to be cruel to you goes with the territory. Just remember that and take NONE of it to heart.
Thank you so much for your support 😌🤍
Tells everyone to use good hair shears. Proceeds to use little beard shears. HA!!! Oh and no worries about waning moon. Think of it as cutting away negative. LOL 😂
Encouraging to learn on my mistakes 😅

Great job! My colleagues work in IT and they are earning over 100k. I just don't understand why they would cut their own hair. We can go to the hair academy and get the students to cut hair for $25
Thanks for the info, and for making me laugh!
