- THE MOUNTAIN YOU NEVER WANT TO END
Buachaille Etive Beag is often overlooked in favour of its more illustrious neighbour. It is, however, a magnificent ridge in its own right, offering superlative views down Loch Etive and of the surrounding peaks of Glencoe.

New subscriber here. Great video and I agree the wee Buachaille is a stunning beut of a mountain. And it will forever hold a special place in my heart as Stob Dubh was my very first Munro. Me and Skye - the Golden Retriever - climbed it last October. And about time - I'm 67 - to get started on the Munros after visiting Scotland each year for over twenty years with my dear late wife.
I'll be sure to check out your channel for more videos.
BTW: We also didn't climb the 2nd Munro as it was a bit late in the day.
Thanks for the support Karl. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully you find my others to your liking too. When is your next trip to Scotland?
Another great video Calum 👍
Thanks so much Neil, I really appreciate it. Have you been out in the hills much lately?
Still out with an achiles injury mate ,so I appreciate all your videos 👍
@@neilcampbell5515 What a bummer Neil. Well, I am delighted that my videos are bringing you some joy and entertainment :)

Thats very kind of you@@stigfloberghagenphotography ... I hope you enjoy the journey :)
Nice wan Calum. Tis a cracking wee Mountain for this time of the year. 😎
Cheers Kev! Couldn't agree more, it's a cracking pair of hills in winter. Hopefully we'll have a good winter season this year. Have you managed to have some good winter days so far??
@@calumpaterson123 A return to the Tarmachan Ridge last week. A good day, but aye fingers crossed for more blue sky snowy days. 🤞
@@Kev_Russ Nice One! Did someone film that? maybe Robin?
@@calumpaterson123 Ah filmed it bud. Vid has just landed. Robin gave that day a miss filming. For a change. 😉
Amazing@@Kev_Russ I can't wait to watch it :)
Grand, envy envy.
The Buachaille is just lovely. I've never walked in the snow there - most of my snow was in the French Jura, now I can do Calton Hill.
I learned that a pair of goggles are another useful piece of kit, especially in horizontal rain. I have old flying goggles - think of Biggles - but I do get a lot of strange looks around Edinburgh.
Cheers for watching Chris. The views from Calton Hill are slightly different, but still beautiful all the same. I actually do own Googles, but left them at home, haha. I imagine the French Jura must have been quite somehting???
@@calumpaterson123 Jura was lovely (I lived and worked in the valley below for ten years). Spring sees flowers, the livestock taken up to pasture. Winter sees heavy snowfall, weather coming through - there is a big iron cross up the top which often had icicles - horizontal, a meter and more long.
Calton hill gave me deep snow, two in the morning, a few years ago. Very different, but lovely in its own way.
Brilliant video calum .. glencoe really is a stunning place in the snow ❄️ 🏔🤩 just subscribed to your channel also mate ✌️😎
Thanks so much David, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the Sub! Have you been out much yourself lately?

Thanks so much Jamie... it helped such a beautiful day for it... and the snow conditions were awesome! Have you been out much this winter?
@calumpaterson123 yeah done Ben Lomond with my daughter on new years day and managed Ben Narnain last week, both videos are up on my channel. I need to get back up to Glencoe after seeing your video, can't beat it 👌
Amazing @@jamie1998 I'll be sure to check those videos out. Glencoe is something special eh... so much variety and differing challenges all in one area.
@calumpaterson123 yeah Callum you could spend months up there and still not get bored... enjoy your hiking 🏔🏴🏔
Brilliant mate. I done this in the snow last year in similar conditions to you. By any chance the guy that was behind yous. Was their a child on his back. If it is it was my mate. But a cracking video.
Take care
Alan
Cheers Alan. There was a man with a child on his back behind us, we stopped for a quick natter at the bealach. Small World eh? Cheers very much for your kind words. Have you had any good wintery days out in the hills this year?
@calumpaterson123 I was up Ben Ledi the other day. But that's about it at moment. Hopefully I'll get more outings. I was hopefully gonna go out this Monday. But the wind speeds don't look that good so will probably do a smaller hill.
@@MyScottishAdventures Nice One! How was the snow conditions on Ben Ledi? The forecast for the coming week is SHOCKING! But aye...hopefully you get out.
@calumpaterson123 they were patches of snow and frost. Plus got a cloud inversion.

Thanks so much for watching. You'll certainly enjoy the Etive Beag. If fate allows, who knows, I might see you in the hills. ATB x
