I keep saying this James, brilliant videos. Thanks for taking the time to produce and post you works it's much appreciated. I'm glad you relented and gave it a 10, there are some good people about.
Excellent Video! Thanks for sharing :) I love the Highlands! Hiked Beinn Alligan, Beinn Damh, and the Quiraing Hill Circuit a couple of summers ago with the family, and we absolutely loved it! Slàinte Mhath!
Was really nice to meet you on the summit of Dorain James, what a beautiful day it was, glad you got your pole back aswell. Smashing video, here's hoping for some more days like that before the winters done. Was out on the West of Drumochter Munros yesterday and pity to see so much of the snow away already. Here's to the next cold snap. All the best.
Nice to meet you too David, it was an incredible day! I was joking to you saying I hope my pole was still there as well, couldn’t believe it when it was gone 😂 looks like much of the snow is gone.. but at-least we got a day like this! All the best, James
That must've been a nice feeling to recover the stick! I was there in summer and it was stunning so great to see it under snow! Maybe path down easier with snow instead of rubble! 🤔 Always a great perspective - thank you for sharing.. I'm too scared to go out in the snow and ice! 😄
Another great video …. That’s actually ones Iv not done and you have just painted the perfect picture… just need to get my ass up There now!!!! Look forward to your next one buddy 👊🤙🏴❤️
Wow, those climbers on the Buachaille were brave, out at night with the torches in the ice, great pic. If only all days were this nice, makes you appreciate it more after weeks of storms though. Great film as always James. Cheers.
Hey there, Nice video and a great tour. It was fun to watch. Have a nice weekend and have fun with the next tour 🤙 Many greetings from the Allgäu, the Dude
I could just imagine myself sat up there with the way you filmed that today. Absolutely stunning. A vid of yours (Ben Wyvis I think) from 2 years ago automatically started playing after this one. Your filming has developed so much since that and the background music too. Credit to ya.
The views were fantastic, could have sat there all day 😁🏔 Thanks for the kind feedback, it has been a steep learning curve thats for sure! Cheers, James
Beautiful aerial views! You are really good in that. It's important to check the weather and when it's good.. just go, cancel everything and go😁 Scotland can be a paradise🙂
Absolute belter James! I did the same and hung about on the BD summit for too long to come off BaD safely in daylight. The path to the bealach was, indeed, boggy slippy 'fun' under normal conditions. Cheers 👍
Just for clarity, BaD is ok in normal conditions, I meant back down from the bealach, it's a bit of an ankle turner and then boggy without the snow from memory. Just agreeing with your safety first approach! Thanks again for a superb vid, J
Nice video i remember that walk in summer ,i did the lot in one day i was knackered . I love ❤️ scotland ,this year got plans not just munros got corbetts to conquer .
Done Beinn Dorain in 30 degree heat in 2018!...but was fortunate to do Beinn Dotaidh ,on the other side of the beleach ,in superb, sunny, snowy conditions .Great video.
Awesome and so glad that you got such a perfect day. Remember doing these two as if yesterday with my best mate and the mountains in the snow are just something else.
What a lovely clear day you had with great underfoot conditions. I am now too old to do that any more, there was not the video footage then, or drones. However I do enjoy very much seeing footage like this. I would have liked somebody to have done drone shots of our group on An Teallach or Tower Ridge , way back. Thank you for posting.
I was really lucky with this one 😁 The technology is fantastic these days! Brings a whole new perspective.. Im looking forward to An Teallach Cheers, James
Last Friday was a superb day to be out on the mountains (I think that's when this was filmed?). I could see the hills looking splendid on way into work south of the River Clyde. ❄️☀️ These were outstanding views you got on your 1sr trip of 2023. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure. ATB Derek
Those views are outrageously good! I'm staying in Dalmally for a few nights in May with family to do some hiking. What munros could you recommend within 90mins of there that DON'T involved narrow ridges? We have Stob Ban (Grey Corries) already nailed down but are keen for some suggestions from more people who have hiked in the area? 😄
It was incredible 😁 I haven’t done that much in that area, this Munro didn’t have a ridge as such, I have a video of Beinn A’chochuill (think I called it the Dalmally Munros), they are also a great day out! Enjoy your trip, James
I'm guessing this was Friday bud. Myself and my dad did Cruach Ardrain Beinn Tulaichean. Was the same picture perfect conditions. Quality video as usual!
James that was a fantastic 10 out of 10 video :) there are no words but thks :) ... looking forward to my 6 days winter mountaineering in Glencoe and beyond next week :) you've wetted the appetite for sure... glad u got your pole back because I was going up there to search for it for you ;) Merky ☘️ ATB
I used to live in Ain, France, with the Jura right there. To hike up there, above the snowline, was magic. Then it was I discovered an important tip for such work. A good wine weighs no more than a bad one. This applies in Scotland as well
Excellent views, superb conditions and home with all your kit... what more can you ask for? This was a brilliant looking trip and I found myself following the WHW route during the drone footage and reminiscing. There was certainly no snow that day. I'm hoping to get out next week for my first of 2023 and as these are still on the list I might look into them. Great stuff as always and here's to many more trips out. - Bryan -
Great video James... Pity you hadn't done Beinn an Dothaidh... My mate and I were doing a climb on the NE Buttress topped out just before 1600hr. Would've been great to bump into you. We were all blessed with the weather that day. Great stuff ATP Jim.
Thanks Jim, nice one that must have been a great climb 😁 Thats a shame, must have just missed you! I seen some climbers heading up there at about 8am.. fantastic conditions! Cheers, James
This must’ve been on Friday, I was out and it was spectacular, wore crampons for the first time ever and my knee is fully healed so looking forward to more big days out
Thanks for this james ! Awesome video!! This is actually myself and two of my mates in the first shot climbing on curved ridge , what a cracking picture👌🏻👌🏻
@@ScottishMunroJourney yeah was an incredible sunrise , a made a small video on my channel with the go pro ! One a wont forget , glad a found your channel your videos look class
Yes those calm clear and cold winter days are so memorable. They're great hills even in summer but that was good. I wonder why you didn't see the guy who "rescued your pole when he was there - did he make the common Dorain mistake of assuming that the giant cairn is the summit and not continuing to the perfectly placed true summit?
So rare but it was amazing Eddie! Not 100% sure, he was at the main Cairn and picked it up on his way back down, I’m just happy I got it back 😁 I bet a few people have ‘bagged’ the wrong top in bad vis! Cheers, James
Cracking drone footage! I did the two back at the start of September, stellar viewpoints, no issues with the ground and took one of my most popular Flickr pics from the bealach! At the summit I met a guy who went the exposed route, which I did on the way back. He had expected to meet up with his other half at the summit but she wasn't there. Met them during the descent and had to tell her she had only done Carn Sassunaich, she wasn't happy and they bailed after that! I then enjoyed a nice easy 2nd Munro. At least you get to return and see the view from there when it will be warmer, it was nice for me seeing the snowy version, cheers! 😃
Och, another cracker. Loved the photo of early morning climbers on the Big Buachaille. I've done the Orchy Hills several times and never managed them as a pair. Glad you got your pole.
Wish I lived in Scotland now
TH-cam needs more videos like this.
Thank you 😁

what a day to be in the hills, done Ben Dorain a few times and never had any views. thanks for sharing.
I was very lucky this day, still waiting on more blue skies 😂 Cheers, James
