Cheers from a jealous Yank who can only look on in tears as you all traipse around at all these beautiful festivals. Seriously though, was glad to see you visit with some "under-the-radar" distilleries like Tomintoul and Tamnavulin. Some of my favorite single cask bottlings have been from them. Keep up the great work and thanks.

Sorry Bill, don't mean to make you jealous! Thanks for watching though and hopefully we'll get some good shows over to you guys soon

Tomintoul and Glencadam still stand at the top of my “value for money” list. A 14 Y/O for ~£45 is properly good value. The Glencadam 21 still sitting around £95-100 is also great value for money

absolutely agreed! goes to show that well aged, high quality Scotch can be created at drinkable prices

Another great video Jake. Agree re Tomintoul and Glencadam. I've done a few tastings with them and I've been well surprised. I really need to get around to reviewing some. Cheers mate.

Thanks for watching Al! I can't wait to get down to the distilleries now - Tamnavulin is one I'm keen to see as well. sláinte!

Did you get to try any of Arran’s whisky (Lochranza and Lagg)? A firm favourite of mine ❤

not on the day as I had already tried everything they had to offer. we're very keen to get over to Arran and focus some content on the distilleries, but unfortunately there wasn't time for every brand at the show

Late to this video but we’re booked on this year. Can I ask approx how many distilleries are there? We did The Whisky Show and they all seemed to be there but this looks slightly smaller?

So are we! Not as a stand though, we’ll just be there milling about and talking to people as we were last year.
Great thing about Whisky Live is that they don’t cram too many people in, so whilst there are slightly fewer exhibitors you generally get to have better conversations. Hope you enjoy it Joe and maybe see you there! 🥃

@@TheWhiskyBaron that’s good to know, less people will definitely be something we prefer over a few more distilleries. After all, you’re never going to get to all the distilleries anyway. Hopefully see you about mate 👍

Dead interesting that about the aging in tropical environments. lolled at "I'm a Pisces, can I still drink it". great vid

Except the aging thing is not very comparable. Yes they lose more alcohol and create a different maturation effect but in no way is it comparable to 20+ years in Scotland. The accelerated maturation in hot climates are more like barbecue, fast roasting whereas Scotland is more like a four hour slow cook. One does not equal the other. They are unique to themselves. I totally understand the financial loss is equal :-)

very interesting isn't it - I'd love to visit the distillery and experience the environment first hand. haha, just me being a pillock after a few drams . Thanks for watching Simon!

agreed entirely. it's obvious the distillery will hint at stuff like this as it brings them into a conversation that people understand and relate to, but I personally would be playing on the fact that it's a beast of it's own and no Scotch/Irish etc. could ever compare. Appreciate your input as always; sláinte!
