Randy, thank you for sharing Dewayne's absolutely stunning whiskey collection, in fact I'm not too proud to say I squealed like a little girl when you showed his Dalmore assortment. Being one of my all time favourite distilleries it's really cool to see the rare bottles "in the flesh" so to speak. I was saddened when they changed the formula for their whisky, which used to have a wonderful warm Mandarin Orange scent and taste, and that taste will always remind me of two things, Christmas, and my late Wife who every year bought me a bottle of Dalmore 12 or Cigar Malt for every one of the 17yrs we were together. I'm interested to know if Canadians will be available to participate in Bourbon Heads when it become available? I think it's a fantastic concept from an extremely knowledgeable collector. I'd like to say "Thank-you" to Dewayne also, for collecting all those wonderful bottles, that contain more than a delicious liquid, to a lot of people they represent a time and place of importance, a celebration or a hard fought win, it's a place that's special or a feeling from the heart. It's history in a bottle, a day of victory or even a spectacular season or year!. Whiskey is powerful, it can pull people together like no other beverage, it can create friendships, partners and wealth. It is, and will remain a reminder of love to me, and of beautiful times spent with my amazing better half (a whiskey drinker in her own right). @@BourbonRealTalk Oamaruvian is top notch! I believe these guys bought 400 old barrels for their new blend but didn't realise the barrels had old, old whiskey in - so they blended the best of both, Beautiful stuff!
I have about 100 unopened bottles of bourbon and scotch, and I think I’m the $hit. Saw this guys whiskey bunker and instantly felt like a little peon. Great bottles and awesome bunker.
Great show. Prefer not hearing negative comments left by others. This gentleman collector is allowing us into his private collection, to deliver an insult under his roof seems unkind.
That is an interesting question. I doubt Dewayne could give an answer that was not wild speculation. I couldn't even begin to guess, and Dewayne has been collecting/drinking a lot longer than I have.
A question that might already have been asked... What, if anything, do you do to preserve the opened bottles if you have so many at the same time? Seen lots of arguments about using inert gas vs just leaving them open so was curious
The problem with open bottles is UV light damage and evaporative loss of ethanol. Despite what everyone says whiskey is not very chemically reactive with oxygen. I am doing a study where we did various things to damage whiskey for 2 years and we also tested argon gas as a preservative. We have not released it yet. In short, open bottles changing is a very slow process if you keep your bottles in an air conditioned space, have good corks, and prevent direct exposure to sunlight. When it does change it is subtle, so most of the big whiskey people just don't worry about it.
Technically you can not legally. If you have bottles to sell and you feel uncomfortable technically breaking a law that isn't enforced, call www.revivalky.com/ and talk to Brad.
You are a amazing guy and I am sorry for your loss. I just joined the bourbon community. I am interest in joining bourbon heads, how do I go about it? Thanks
Great video! Thanks to both of you. Fun to hear and see about bottles that may be long forgotten if not for guys like this, even better from a hard working, generous man like this.
These question he has to answer from the community makes me sick. You guys are empty. Let this man do what he wants to do with his collection. He did not have to answer these silly questions. This is a Mens paradise right there and i am SO happy about what he does. It does give me pleasure to see him having that much!
11:51 does anyone know what they are cheering? The tuber said “very scotchy” then they cheer and collector said “swanza!” then the tuber cheers “salanja?”… does anyone know what they were saying? I thought it would be the Irish/Scottish Gaelic word for health Sláinte…SLAHN-chə… any ideas?
That is a difficult question to answer. Some people are predicting a crash. There are so many factors affecting the supply demand matrix, that it is impossible to predict.
Thank you for your comment! It's always great to hear from viewers who have a personal connection to the content. Is there a particular aspect of the video that resonated with you as an Oklahoma native?
@@BourbonRealTalk I just love the spirit of Dewayne. He seems like a really cool and generous dude. I loved seeing the human side of collecting and hearing his story.
It is a lot easier if the producer already has distribution set up for your home state. In that case, you have to have a relationship with a representative of the distillery who is willing to let you buy a barrel. Most distilleries taste their casks and determine which have special character they do not want to lose in a blend. They set those aside for single barrel program. Once you pick they bottle it and ship it to their local wholesaler, and then Dewayne puts in an order for it.

Very cool video. I’m not someone that can join the bourbon head community but sounds pretty special. Enjoy
That is OK. You should check out facebook.com/groups/bourbonrealtalkcommunity. It is free.
I immediately reserved a spot on the NFT! Look forward to meeting this Poor gentleman. A quick private flight from Texas to swing by the club sounds like a joy worth cherishing. Whiskey does bring people together, and spreads copious amounts of love. Cheers while I sip my Laphroiag
Love the attitude! Cheers!
Awesome collection - I always have great intentions to buy nice bottles and preserve them but …. I seem to always open and enjoy them with friends. Oh well maybe one day…
That is great!
Wait!?! The way Randy looks at the camera after he compliments Wes on his women T-shirt. I’m in tears.
I have seen that commercial I don't know how many times, and I still watch it every time because it cracks me up.
Beautiful message at the end! Sorry for your loss
Thank you!
This fellow is a Winner 🏆.
That's all I know.
I get a lil excited every time I see a bottle I’ve had or tried before on his shelves😂
That was so good! New Zealand has set about making some nice whiskey's - wonder if Dewayne has any in his collection
Not that I know of. I'll have to put the word out and see if anyone I know has one I can taste at the next tasting.
@@BourbonRealTalk Oamaruvian is top notch! I believe these guys bought 400 old barrels for their new blend but didn't realise the barrels had old, old whiskey in - so they blended the best of both, Beautiful stuff!
How often do you clean the bottles and with so many bottles in both bunkers how do you get them cleaned?
Dust is desirable on old bottles. We call them "dusties".
I have about 100 unopened bottles of bourbon and scotch, and I think I’m the $hit. Saw this guys whiskey bunker and instantly felt like a little peon. Great bottles and awesome bunker.
Heck no! 100 bottles is legit!
Great show. Prefer not hearing negative comments left by others. This gentleman collector is allowing us into his private collection, to deliver an insult under his roof seems unkind.
Me too. I hate that people enjoy trolling more than connection. Thank you for watching!
I have 2 old bottles from the 90s a 12 year old and a 10 year vintage
old charter
Is there a place to trade for different bottles?
th-cam.com/video/qKtt9Oi6Yz8/w-d-xo.html
Once I had 20 bottles and I was drinking everyday for 3 months IM HAPPY I DONT SOEND A LOT
I signed up for the waiting list. But it didn't say where the Bourbon heat sit would be. You said maybe Louisville?
The locations have not been identified yet. Very early stages.
He is so chill.....but he loves talking about the product more than the value
That is an astute observation. He is very interested in the flavor and the experience...not just the money.
Amazing collection, Caol Isla 30, a dream bottle!
Thanks for watching!
What an amazing collection. I wonder how many bottles (good and bad) that he has tasted in his life time?
That is an interesting question. I doubt Dewayne could give an answer that was not wild speculation. I couldn't even begin to guess, and Dewayne has been collecting/drinking a lot longer than I have.
Is whiskey like wine, should it be kept on its side to keep the cork moist?
@@BourbonRealTalk Thanks for your reply, that sounds like a pretty interesting study - I'll keep an eye for it once you've released it.
we often use parafilm tape to 'seal' 'up the bottle once we're done drinking, esp for the expensive bottles. seems to work well.
Gratuluje 👏👏👏 Imponująca kolekcja . Należą się ukłony .
Serdecznie pozdrawiam ✌️
Pokochaj pozytywne nastawienie. Twoje zdrowie!
Very cool. Would like to know how to sell legally old bottles from one collector to someone without a third party.
Technically you can not legally. If you have bottles to sell and you feel uncomfortable technically breaking a law that isn't enforced, call www.revivalky.com/ and talk to Brad.
People tend to forget that whiskey is not just a drink, it is history. Every bottle is a time capsule, from mash all the way to pour.
Amen!
This the dude every Indian liquor store owner that has a Weller 12 on the shelf for $350 is hoping walks through the door.
He doesn't pay above retail for his bottles.
Bourbon Heads sounds awesome and similar to Whiskey House Nashville!
Not a non profit. Should be like WHN but in 20-30 locations.
@@BourbonRealTalk colored me interested...now just to convert my 401k for crypto
@@OakvilleKGB Next weeks episode will clear it up. They will have a cash to crypto tool on the website.
Amazing video.. how could I reach Mr. Poor or yourself? Inherited a few rare bottles macallan fine and rare if we can speak more about
You can always email me at randy@bourbonrealtalk.com
Thanks for doing this again. Just a cool dude
You bet
Just found out today my wife works with him! I’m going to try and get a tour of his vault!
If you know someone who knows him, he will let you in. It is pretty awesome in person.

Great video! Thanks to both of you. Fun to hear and see about bottles that may be long forgotten if not for guys like this, even better from a hard working, generous man like this.
Love the spirit of this comment! Cheers!
These question he has to answer from the community makes me sick. You guys are empty. Let this man do what he wants to do with his collection. He did not have to answer these silly questions. This is a Mens paradise right there and i am SO happy about what he does. It does give me pleasure to see him having that much!
I love this attitude. The sad truth is so many commenters said negative things that Dewayne doesn't read them anymore.
Did he have a old pulteney 21 in his collection??
Fabulous whiskey and now quite rare!
I don't remember hearing about that one, but there are so many bottles it is unlikely I would have noticed that one. I am unfamiliar with the brand.
@@BourbonRealTalk Try and get hold of one you won’t regret it👍
Dewayne is a very successful guy who got to where he is through hard work. Now he needs to set his focus on physical fitness.
He has started getting in shape. He has made some recent life changes.
@@BourbonRealTalk That's awesome to hear! I hope him the best of luck!
Anyone hating on this guy is so misguided. What a great video.
Agreed - thank you for watching!
Cheers from another fellow Oklahoman
Will whisky still be going up with interest hikes?
That is a difficult question to answer. Some people are predicting a crash. There are so many factors affecting the supply demand matrix, that it is impossible to predict.
As an Oklahoma boy this warms my heart.
@@geekcitizenx We loved filming this episode and were thankful to have him on our channel :)
Great video really enjoyed the history 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
How does one go about buying a full cask?
It is a lot easier if the producer already has distribution set up for your home state. In that case, you have to have a relationship with a representative of the distillery who is willing to let you buy a barrel. Most distilleries taste their casks and determine which have special character they do not want to lose in a blend. They set those aside for single barrel program. Once you pick they bottle it and ship it to their local wholesaler, and then Dewayne puts in an order for it.
That ending was powerful. Great job. On the wait list!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing this amazing collection! Salud, gentlemen!
