I'm 74 and grew up eating all kinds of sweet batter all my life. Never once got sick. . Fun to watch ya'll fix things from boxes. I rarely use anything from a box. The only regular thing I fix is Jiffy cornbread. And I love it. Bur I learned to make everything else from scratch. I just find if more fun. But I fully understand why you like the boxed items. And that's just fine. As long as you are having fun, that's all that matters. And liking what you fix. Am looking forward to when you get to move into your new house!! Love from Texas. ❤️🤠
Texas girl who grew up licking the beaters, bowls and spatulas of all kinds. Never got sick but my mom occasionally would comment that I could get sick because of the raw eggs on the batter.
The item you couldn't ID is a jigsaw puzzle mat. (When you said '1,000 pieces' and needing to be flat... those gave it away.) The colored squares form trays when you snap the corners together. Then there's the carrying case for the rolled up mat.
@@nicsxnin6786 it looks like you roll up the puzzle in between working on it.The blow up part acts as the center .Like rolling a pie dough over a rolling pin?
Puzzle Saver. The colored squares snap together on the corners. They then look like bowls for sorting your puzzle pieces. The white plastic needs to be inflated. Build your puzzle on the black mat. When you want to put it away, especially unfinished, just place the white cylinder on the puzzle with the mat. Roll it up. When you want to work on the puzzle again, just unroll and enjoy.
@@angb6561 There's an added benefit to my family that I have a lot of male cousins too that can help. Able-bodied and on a day off and the move can be accomplished in a few hours. The unpacking can be done leisurely, lol.
I have that exact puzzle set. Each of the colored sheets, snap their corners together, the two closest snaps in each corner, and they make little bowls to sort puzzle pieces. The pump is to blow up a cylindrical insert for the puzzle mat to roll up and store the big puzzle in progress.
You guys are absolutely precious. Love your interaction as the project comes together. My face hurts from smiling so much. Thank you so very much for sharing your adventures with us.
Carol and Recky about 15-20 years ago my parents and brothers familys would join my family renting a cabin in a beautiful state park for a 3 day weekend the start of summer for a few years. I had an outdoor propane grill with a griddle top for it. My job was making breakfast for everyone. I fried bacon and ham, fried and scrambled eggs, and made pancakes and french toast throughout the years we did this. I swear, the fastest way to meet neighbors is fry bacon outside! Peace!❤😊
I'm sorry the note wasn't included. Miss Carol said once she enjoys puzzles, but the cats are a problem. I use a puzzle mat like that to keep my kitties out of my puzzles. The griddle is a housewarming gift. I bought it SE Amazon so there wouldn't be an issue with the electrical. Hope you enjoy them! But bummed you didn't get the note.
Oh thank you for this!! Great gifts, love puzzles and now I can enjoy it in the new house! ☺️ The griddle is perfect and its going to be fun to try it out! Again, thank you so much ❤️
Hi from another Carol! I so enjoyed your mystery gift that turns out to be a mat for putting puzzles together on and store them away when you are not working on it so the fur babies don't undo what you have put together. My sister and I got the same thing for our mom and dad a couple of years ago and your reaction was a mirror of theirs!! My sister and I tried to keep from laughing watching our parents try to figure that gift out and your reaction brought that memory back of that Christmas day!!!
I wonder if you could make that in a spring pan? Spring pan are the ones that have a latch and open so the pan can be removed and leave just the bottom. It would be a lot easier than lining a pan.
You'll have to keep your channel forever now. Going back to all Swedish food would be so hard for you after all of the American flavors you've been introduced to. 😂❤❤
I am in the process of moving also. I found my mother's cookbooks while packing. These cookbooks are 72 years old . I understand why you get excited over cookbooks. I collect them whenever we travel. Enjoy and good luck on the move.
Recky and Carol. My favorite licorice in the whole world comes from your country. I think (or Germany) Katjes: Salzige Heringe'. I can't stop eating it. It's just hard to find in America and the price is so expensive. But it's so good.
I have the forearm forklift and have used it several times for moves especially in spaces where you can’t use the wheeled dolly to haul big items. I am not a big person nor am I a very strong person and I was able to use it without a problem. You need two people to use the forearm forklift straps.
I am curious if Swedes eat all desserts with spoons. Americans would typically eat something like this with a dessert fork, only small children would be given spoons for this. Thanks for your videos, looking forward to your move!💕
Not supposed to eat raw batter because the eggs could have salmonella...but I sometimes wonder if they made that up so I couldn't reminisce about my childhood.
I recently helped someone move a couple things using these straps. They worked very well. We put the straps under the desk, slipped our hands into the loops and placed our palms on the desk so we were pushing against each together. It was like adding a handle to the desk at a comfortable height for lifting.
My husband (71 years) and l (67 years) use these straps for lifting heavy objects,we used to buy storage units( refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, heavy dressers etc in most units !! Heavy stuff!! They sure do save your back 💯✅ we still use em! 😊
I think the many quick food items and fast, tastey deserts help keep americans calm and peaceful in the face of natural diseasters, storms and political issues. It's hard to stay upset when desert is only a few hours away!😊❤
i believe not eating batter with eggs has to do with not knowing where they got the eggs, most large companies combined the eggs they received to maximize profit, if you know where your eggs are produced then it should be fine Martha Stewart would not approve using non-lined foil, she says when foil is touching the food it should be parchment lined, obviously you and many others have not heard of her and all i have to say is LUCKY YOU
the apple pan-dowdy in the cookbook is a famous post-war recipe. before the depression, housewives were making rather extravagant desserts. once hard times hit; delicious, ugly, and cheap recipes like shoofly pie and apple pan-dowdy became the norm. dowdy was a term used to describe a woman that was dressed frumpy and out of style. the way you just dump the top dough onto the pie filling was a very "dowdy" way for young women to bake their dessert! that era marked the beginning of the "cheaper is better" dessert norm. the next generation perfected it with jello molds and fruit cocktail. here is a song about apple pan-dowdy that pretty much sums up the whole post-war vibe from '46. th-cam.com/video/dOqEEfLxVJU/w-d-xo.html
This South Carolina "girl" was also raised eating the batter ("lacking the bowl / spoon"), even when it had raw eggs.
Ditto from another South Carolina girl.
Ditto but from a Colorado girl!

We licked the bowls up in Pennsylvania too, and now that I'm old and living in Maryland, I still do!

That's funny,it's a puzzle for doing puzzles.
What is the part you blow up used for? I can easily picture the rest
@@nicsxnin6786 The partially completed puzzle is rolled around the inflated tube. Makes for a gentle curve so the pieces stay in place.

How cool! Makes life easier!
Oh man one day im just going to send you guys a bunch of random pieces that have nothing to do with each other 😂😂
Funny as hell if you do that 👏👏👍😂

LOVE IT when they crack each other up!! So fun!🤣😃🥳
Ok, Recky, you've got some nieces and nephews that can help with the move. Put 'em to work and just feed them all the American goodies, lol!
THAT'S the way to do it!😂

I'm trying to make up my mind if this is a cool invention or a pain.😂 I admit I would like a big puzzle mat one of these days.
IT STILL MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE...

Recky has no idea what the item is, sniffs it for clues!😂😅😆🤯
7:55 Carol says "so easy to do" and what popped into my head was "so easy even Recki can do it" 😜 Love you both!
This is the best baking and cooking show I have ever seen!
Most realistic!
America likes easy. You only have about 5 weeks till you move in to your new home. Can't wait!

Not to be used for lifting elephants, you must get the elephant lifting adapter.
I love watching Recky sneak bites while Carol imagines her next meal!😂
Now I have to get some Oreos cake stuff 😄 Look great 👍

Wow, a cooking show! Love it!!!
The same day you are doing this, Mr. H (Mrs. H) was making cinnamon raison bread and commented about not using her Dutch Oven.
Such a cute video! Love watching you two have so much fun in your videos.youll need to make a bloopers video once in a while and show the mishaps. Lol

Thank you again so much for the video reaction. Would like to say hi from Oregon may today find you and yours healthy and happy. Love yall.
Hopefully you guys can make it to the USA to try all our foods.

Your Oreo cake looks delicious! I hooe you solved all of your mysteries.
Actually you might keep some of the small boxes for moving. Speaking from experience big boxes get heavy really fast. Lol.

The only thing I can think of is it is a mat for jigsaw puzzles?
What are the dotted cut lines for, and the ironing instructions?
Love from Florida I'm even stumped over that inflatable gift

At Walmart they sell a similar product frozen, so any you don't eat now you can freeze and have later.

I agree. Don't know anyone or have even heard of anyone getting sick from eating cake batter.
My grandfather would suck down a raw egg and chase it with beer.
Thanks!
Thank you so much 🤗
