I have watched a few of your videos. I have been wrenching for over 27 years on everything you can think of, and I watch vids both to learn and critique (to myself). I have to say, you have a lot of knowledge and ability for a young man. Keep doing what youre doing. I do some things a little different but everyone does. The main thing is that youre helping people and that is commendable. Lastly, it seems youre a VW fan. I wont post a link but there is a company out there that sells kits to turn a Jetta or new Beetle into a pickup. I'd like to see a vid of you doing that. Keep at it.
Good luck with your GTI! My daughter recommended your Miata content and said you got a GTI (so I subbed). She just got a Golf SE and I bought a '19 Rabbit GTI. We're hoping we don't have any issues with our cars, though we have a 6 year, 72K mile warranty on both our new cars so won't have to worry about CPO deductibles. Hoping that the renowned VW unreliability doesn't hit us!
Thanks! Your cars should be much better than this one. Being the first model year the MK7 was offered I’m sure this has more problems than the newer ones. They ended up refunding my deductible which I was happy about. Have fun with your cars and thanks for following the channel!
Doesn’t really sound like the cars fault, for one to fail is unlikely, for two to fail is extremely unlikely, but 3, all within 100 miles. Sounds like something got in the gas tank and messed them up.
Damn that sucks. I haven’t had any problems with my CPO 2015 GTI (knock on wood) but I did get the extended warranty on top of the CPO warranty just in case as this is my first Euro vehicle I’ve owned. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong with yours! Enjoy it, I’m definitely enjoying mine!
Man….. I have a 2015 gti, check engine light came on and EPC light coming on a few times and when it did the car ran horribly. Turn the car off and EPC light went off and the car ran ok but still a funny idle. Bought the OBD11 and getting misfire on cylinder 2. My car is at 83k milage, everything I read said replace coil packs and spark plugs. Did that and still getting a misfire on cyclinder 2 😢. Thinking its my injector…
My 2015 GTI just went haywire. Alternator, fuel pump and misfires all at 43k miles. Sold it the day after and went with a Mazda 3 hatch. The gti really is an awesome and fun car but all them problems popping up so soon.... Dont have time or patience for that! Good luck to you though.
I have a 2016 GTI with 34K miles. I was informed that the leak was the thermostat housing (leak). I'm being told that they're not sure if the thermostat housing is covered under my warranty--vs the water pump. I found the leak and immediately took it to the dealer. Waiting to see what happens. Good luck.
There is one issue that a lots of people doesnt know about it wich is the biston fail at any time in mk7 without waring message ..thats why i sold m mk7 and change it to mk6 Did u hear this issue from another person?
This is happening to me now ... but hasn't broken down yet -and so VW won't do anything under warranty. Did you have fluids coming out of anywhere -aside from water pump leakage? does your oil smell like gas or burnt.
I’m sorry to hear that.. once it breaks they’ll fix it if it’s still under warranty. My oil did smell gassy, since so much gets dumped in it often gets contaminated. If that happens you definitely want to bring it in because thinned oil isn’t good. Best of luck!
My s3 8v did the exact same thing you can’t just replace one injector, I’ve replaced all four of my direct injectors and I need to change my oil because it’s got petrol in it now then hopefully it’s back to full health 🤞🏼
It seems to me like every time people injectors give out or have issues Is while getting on the freeway like me. My mk6 is stage 2 k04 and all the bolt on’s you could want. And I just forgot to do the injectors and of course one got stuck( 99% sure) so I’m having all replaced and a carbon clean out done! I hope everything is all good after 😇
If you have a DSG car then your DSG farts got quieter or non-existent. Also I felt like the turbo took longer to spool, and the exhaust sounded way quieter than stock. More quiet than a Corolla 😵
@@CashedOutCars I thought about getting an MK7 myself but now I'm considering the Veloster N. Hyundai is a hell of alot more reliable than any German automaker.

I bought a 2015 GTI 6 speed with 52k miles... It now has 67k miles and absolutely no problems. I've had a great experience so far!
Will Moorman glad to hear it! It was a fun car when it was working right

The warranty is definitely worth it with something like this! Enjoy it man, it’s a fun car, I think I just got unlucky

Yup they seem problematic. I've since sold mine as well, I'm onto a VR6 Passat for now!

Best of luck to you, I hope they fix it for you. If you only have 34k that should be within the VW warranty. Check back in with updates!

Hi water pump on that car can cause the not too have power?
If the car goes into limp mode because of it possibly. A leaking water pump wont cause a power loss on it's own though.
@@CashedOutCars hi mk7 gti chh can high pressure fuel pump cause to go on limpmod

Yeah you certainly should do all of them at once, the dealership just disagreed... glad you fixed, change that oil and you’ll be good to go!
Same thing just happened to me last week. No CEL, just died and gave out the horrible smell of fuel lol.
That's unfortunate, are you fixing it yourself or are you having it fixed?
ive had my gti since 2016... never had a problem.
I have own my 2015 GTI for 50k and just barely had to replace thermostat other then that been a great car

It seems like an oddly common issue. Good luck with everything!
@@CashedOutCars thank ya sir. Everything went to plan for the one time 😂 car feels great and reliable now!
This makes me not regret getting a Jetta instead of a GTI 😂
I wish I never sold my Rabbit!
The Jetta have worst durability lol. You will find out soon.
Wrong!! I am on my 3rd Jetta drives like new, 107,000 miles ZERO problems. 2017 TSI 1.4
your cat is clogged lol. happened to me too
I worried about that. The car is long gone now!
How can you tell the cat is clogged

@@seansterling2732 interesting -the lag was definitely a thing on my car -thanks!
MK7 acting like a temperamental bartender that can't mix well? CPblow it up! End its misery.
I’ll sell it and let someone else give it an unfortunate ending...
@@CashedOutCars cashing out cars now?? I think that goes against everything this channel stands for. Oh wait. (Jk)
What fuel do you use. 93?
Yeah 93, 91 is what’s recommended but it’s not available where I am in the country. We have 87, 89 or 93
Should’ve got a Saab! 😂😂
Then I could have been broken down twice as much 😜
LMAO
I HAVE GTI MK7 2015 STICK WITH 100000 MILES AND NO problems.
You’re a lucky one! This had lots of problems and I sold it before I had to own it out of warranty
GTI > Get tow instantly .. . .. Piss me off, I have the same issues with my 2021 GTI/Autobahn
I haven't heard that one before hahaha! I hope you get yours sorted out, I sold mine shortly after as to not own it outside of warranty
Your fuel injector was bad?
Maybe you have shit fuel in it? Try an injector cleaner
I was running the required octane, not sure what was up with it. Car is long gone now! I’ll have videos on it shortly
Nobody buys a German car for reliability!
True that, but they should last more than 50k miles without having to bring it to the dealership weekly!
@@CashedOutCars I thought about getting an MK7 myself but now I'm considering the Veloster N. Hyundai is a hell of alot more reliable than any German automaker.
If you go with a MK7 I’d highly recommend getting a 2016+ and get one under warranty
They used to be tra reliable now they've cheaped out like everyone else and gotten overly complicated
