- Enjoying a ROAD TRIP AROUND SUFFOLK IN A VINTAGE CAR// In this vintage car adventure, we're taking a road trip around Suffolk in a Morris Minor Traveller!
This is a fun and adventurous trip and such a unique experience. We'll travel along the coast and explore some of the beautiful villages and towns in Suffolk like Thorpeness, Walberswick and Southwold.
This was far too short! We absolutely LOVED our day with this lovely vintage Morris Minor. Kirsten & Joerg xx

Dear all, Just another head up regarding spam comments: These past days we had someone commenting and found out that this person was stealing another person's identity and copied a video. Now the real person suffered from cancer and was in the midst of her life and tragically passed away last month. She documented her journey here on TH-cam - the fact that someone stole this identity and now tricks people into donating money is beyond disgusting. We honestly can't believe what some people are capable of and want to make money with the suffering of others. Just think of what the family are going through. We reported this case to TH-cam today and hopefully the channel gets removed but just wanted to mention it as you have to be so careful these days, it's terrible. Much love. Kirsten & Joerg xx

How terrible, I just heard today of that poor Lady in Suffolk who was killed by intruders just for her purse. I hope they get caught, and also the TH-cam people too.
Goodness me, my Father had a car like that, we went to Cornwall as a family in such a car.

I imagined Jörg's first vintage car drive would be the Aston Martin DB5, but nevertheless, this was so much fun. Complete with The House in the clouds. I don't know why, but the house reminds me of Dorothy's house in The wizard of Oz. 😄

Kirsten and Joerg always make me dream of the possibility of a world as it should be. I miss the island and my tiny little flat in Cambridge where I lived during my studies. Tomorrow it will be twenty-two years since I was last there. I wish I could see my beloved England again just one last time! I dream of the green hills covered with oxlips, bluebells and violets in spring. Memories...

There are so many quaint and picturesque historic villages in the UK! The vintage car truly creates the impression of time travel and you're right - Joerg fits the part, he looks like he stepped right out of the past when he's driving around in a Morris Minor.

My father had a Morris traveller in the day. As a little girl, I loved it. Thought it was strange a car made of metal and wood. We would have day trips to North Yorkshire moors. Thank you for the video. It brings back memories of my family and all my dogs. X

Your expression driving that car was priceless! There is nothing like a classic car. I never really learned how to drive stick shift. My legs were too short for our truck and my poor Dad (who was teaching me), was getting a tad bit over it.
Those little beach huts are just so darn cute! And I love that car. What a fun excursion. ❤

Back in the early sixties we had that car and it fitted 4 adults and 5 children taking us to our local beach Oxwich on the Gower Peninsula. We were like sardines but it was worth it as the beaches here are amazing, great times.

I remember seeing this house in the clouds on an episode of Escape to the country I do believe ! We are contemplating buying and restoring a 1958 dodge truck,,,,decisions ,decisions,,,,,we use to belong to an antique car club and we would go on a tour with our old cars once a month , it was so much fun !!!! I miss those days,,,enjoyed your tour very much ,,,Cherryl from Canada

I love windmills too! When I was a child I saw the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the main characters lived in a windmill. I was around the age of the little girl Jemima in the movie and wanted to be her! What a fun car you drove in this video! We had similar ones in the US in the 60’s and they were nicknamed Woodies because of the wood paneling.
You really know you’re driving when you drive a vintage vehicle…..”Armstrong Steering “ not power steering! Great effort managing the clutch and accelerator in unison. My Father had a grey one - we had it for years and went all over the place in it. A neighbour had a black one and he kept it immaculate, washing and polishing it every Sunday. What memories 😊

We had exactly the same car when I was a child. The whole family takeing trips up to the tea estate to visit my uncle who was superintendents there. That was When we lived in Sri Lanka which was a britische colony. It was the same colour as well!! Very nostalgic. My brother used to live in Inverurie a lovey place which I used to visit. . So sorry he left and went back to Australia. Love your vlogs. Enjoy your life as long as you can. Love and hugs from Sri Lanka. So much fun to see the old vintage car which reminded me of my Mums old Morris Minor which had a timber floor and once we got bogged in a puddle so the water came up inside the car! We were only kids back in the 50’s era and thought it was funny but my poor Mum not so happy😂
I love a Morris Woody , I prefer a dark green color , but that near Navy Blue is very nice . What fun .

I think its Joerg's cravat that suits the car. I love the pink suffolk houses. That colour used to be made by mixing pigs blood with the paint, I think
So enjoyed this video! One of the first cars I drove and not nearly in such good condition as this one. Joerg does suit the car very much! My ex-husband had several vintage cars over the years, although his first love was motorbikes. There was one occasion when I had to follow him tearing along on his bike, on very twisty roads and me with no power steering ... one of many adventures.

That’s so lovely. My husband had a grey “Moggie” traveller when he first met. Oh, my, the weekends he spent on the bodywork and woodwork made me cry and grind my teeth!

We stayed in Thorpness several years ago almost directly opposite the house in the clouds. The back garden went down to the lake and we had so much fun rowing the rental house's boat round the little islands. The Golf Club at the bottom of the road also did a mean gin & tonic. In addition to Southwould and Walberswick. Alborough and the village of Dulwich are definitely worth a visit.
Jörg looks so handsome in those clothes and the oldtimer car really suits him!

You visited a half timbered village in your half-timbered car - what fun.
This was such a lovely vlog. It gave me a knot of nostalgia in my stomach! The whole vlog made me feel a sense of how it used to be back in the day. I remember the Morris Miners very well growing up..I loved those cars. You both looked perfect driving it around the relaxing surroundings. Totally get it with the lack of modern conveniences of the car.. we just purchased a “very old” inexpensive hatchback Mercedes from a friend! We needed a back up car to do local runarounds. Since older kids always using the main cars! It’s so bulky, with very slow hard breaks, you have to plan well in advance when to break! no bells or whistles, doors don’t close, quite a scary drive for me! But it’s only a 1998 model!! And feels/looks so vintage! My kids don’t want to be dropped off school in it! I definitely will not be parallel parking if! Funny thing is, my first car in the US was a 1998 Nissan Altima! How things/perceptions change! Thank you for a fun vlog.

My uncle had a car like that, it used to be called a ‘Shooting Break’. I feel very old that I can remember them so clearly!😆 Suffolk looks beautiful, I’d like to go there one day.

I could probably have passed as a driver as I was wearing very 'vintagey' clothes.
Downton was set 50 years before this particular Morris was built.

Loved the car and the adventure! You guys are hooked now, you'll have to by one. I miss the simplicity of the older cars and their unique style. Each car company took pride in creating a signature model. Now, many of the modern cars look like they came out of the same mold, with a different name stamped on them.

This takes me back,I had one in the 1980s. A green one, I loved it, I used to take 8 children to church in it on a Sunday morning. 🤗
Our neighbour (female) has a converable version of the Morris 1000. She owned it for a long time and it comes out in summer. She used to own 2 dingoes, and they loved riding in it. She drew quite a crowd with two dogs sitting regally as she drove by.
