- MY FAVOURITE MIDI DRESSES FOR SPRING & SUMMER (VINTAGE & NEW)// Happy Friday, I'm so excited to be sharing my favourite midi dresses for spring & summer with you today! These aren't dresses that are
trendy now but just timeless and classic pieces that you will love forever. I included vintage dresses, dresses I've had for years and a new one that I just got last week and that I can't wait to wear during the summer months.
I bet that are many out there that have a weakness for vintage Laura Ashley dresses as well; I know I have! I love browsing Etsy to stumble upon great vintage finds. There's also another brand that I've loved for some years now: Son de Flor! They make the most amazing linen dresses that are so flattering and just stunning. I really love how you wear those beautiful dresses Kirsten. When you go out to visit a garden or a beautiful house, you fit right in, like one of the flowers!
I am 73 and, though I don't wear this style anymore, I certainly did in high school and college. These dresses are classic - gorgeous cut and fabrics! Thank you for a delightful video!

I graduated high school in the early 1960’s and wore this style dress in spring and loved them then. Of course in winter we wore straight skirts and sweaters. The style looks great on you. Don’t change you look so cute in them

I knew that dress was from Laura Ashley. I remember the early 80s, and how hot those dresses were. So pretty!
I had an original Laura Ashley dress and the fabric was stunning ! I wish I had saved the dress.
If you want to add pockets to the dresses without them, its very easily done. Just go to a tailor/alterations place (a service often offered at the dry cleaners) and ask them to sew a pocket bag into the side seam at low hip level . You could even put the dress on and imagine where the pocket would be (by what feels comfortable to your hands) and mark the place of the pocket opening on the side seam with pins. I hope this helps!

Yes, very easy to do yourself. You can even buy a cheap dress from a second hand store ( that you don't like) cut the pockets out carefully by cutting the seam stitches . Reattach the pocket by opening the dress seam, lots of videos to show how to. A fat quarter of fabric from Walmart , plain colour and just trace two pockets out. I am British living in Canada and love dresses in the summer. I hope to get back to UK soon for another stock up on dresses.Your dresses are always beautiful.

All of your dresses are so lovely. The best thing about dresses is that it's only one piece to put on when getting ready for the day. Years ago one of my aunts made me a red gingham dress with a bonnet and I pretended that I was on Little House on the Prairie. I played dress up in that dress until I eventually out grew it. I love all your videos. Looking forward to the next one.

Hi Kirsten! I just received my first Son de Flor dress in red! I was super surprised at how quickly it arrived. The sweet note in the pocket lifted my spirits. I encourage anyone who buys one of these beautiful dresses to read the information tag sewn into the skirt. They even date the year it was made! Such a special company. Thank you Kirsten for sharing.

I love your dresses and if I was young and well even at 81 if I had a waistline I would love dresses like that because I was a girl in the 50s. My two favorite are the blue one and the last one while they're all lovely those are my favorites. Yes pockets are so important to be comfortable . Love this video. Blessings and love from New Mexico

The blue Laura Ashley dress with flowers fits You very well, dear Kirsten! My mother (1920-69) loved dresses with flowers like I do. She wasn't a slim person and always had a taylor - eine Dorfschneiderin - sewing pretty dresses from wonderful fabrics for her and for me when I was a teenager. - My favourite colours are red and blue! - Liane -
Your Laura Ashley dress made me remember how my sister,and mother dressed in the 80's. They wore mostly Ralph Lauren and always looked so elegant.

Love your dresses Kirsten,I am an old lady now but took me back to some dresses i wore .We used to make a lot of our own maxi/midi dresses in the late 60s and 70s Hippy times .I remember one maxi dress i made with short puff sleeves ,and a maxi length in a bright orange pattern of 2 different orange tones .All the flared jeans and platform shoes etc .

Your style has inspired me. I ordered a vintage 1990, never worn dress from Etsy and a crocheted collar to go with it. I am so excited for it to come. I am a teacher in America, and by the time the dress comes, school will be out. It will be nice to wear to church once or twice over the summer, and if I get compliments, I will wear it for the first day of school next year. I appreciate your videos so much and the variety of content is excellent. God bless.

They are all beautiful! I think you have more selection of classic styles in the UK and Ireland then we do in the States. I still have the Laura Ashley Mother/Daughter dresses I purchased in 1994. I cannot part with them! Have a great weekend!

I enjoyed this so much ! My favorite is the rose dress from India and the gingham one . The one you are wearing looks so pretty on you too . You're right about wearing comfy shoes . When we go to England there's always so much walking . The first time I went to visit my sister in Oxford I wore my favorite kitten heels with a leopard print and crystal buckle . Oh and 2 huge suitcases as well as a carry on and ( I kid you not ) a purse weighing 13 lbs . Needless to say the sandals got destroyed and I've considerably reduced my luggage lol . My favorite thing to bring to England is beautiful shawls, they always come in handy . Watching your vlogs is always so enjoyable ! 🇨🇦 💕 🇬🇧

Oh, to go back to the days of Laura Ashley & the beautiful & comfy dresses! I had 2 daughters, and as they became of the age to also wear LA, we 3 could hardly shop together because we all wanted the same dresses!

Thank you for showing your dresses. They were so pretty and I really like them. I love vintage too. I also like older clothes because they last a long time they were made so well a lot of clothes, narrow made so cheap even when you wash them they all fade scenes.
All of those dresses are just amazing, espeacially the yellow dress and the last one, they look as if they were extra tailored for you, you have indeed found the ultamative style that suits you so beautifully! Found Vintage Laura Ashley long sleeve green velvet dress for $5 usd . in my local consignment shop. Plus 2 corduroy " jumpers" sleeveless dresses on Poshmark under $25 usd. Couldn't believe it.😊 Lovely to wear dresses all year long. Thanks for the visit!

I agree Kirstin speaks English beautifully. The beautiful dresses complement the decor of many of the houses and cottages they visit. They are a lovely couple.
I love dresses too! When I cant wear a dress any longer due to wear or a stain and yet I still love its pattern... I often turn them into cute old fashioned aprons, teatime lap size napkins or dainty pillowcases.

I bought 2 Laura Ashley maternity dresses when I was pregnant with my first child back in 1993 (she's 27 now). They were BEAUTIFUL and very well made and quite wearable when not pregnant as well. Watching your vids brought that back to me and I wish I had saved them! I have no idea where they are now, sadly. Wonderful.

Kirsten: My jaw just hit the floor! There you are, just sitting there wearing the wonderful blue flowery Laura Ashley dress I used to wear every summer (£60 at Etsy, I believe you said you paid for it), which I think I bought around 1990 ish. Some drunkard fell against it at an open air jazz festival in Tunbridge Wells around 1997 sadly, and ripped it. Glad to hear it is very very special to you. Wonderful to see it again, thank you so much for showing us your gorgeous dresses.

I discovered Laura Ashley as a teen in London, the smell when you walked in the shop was just divine.
I actually went on to work for a Laura Ashley model in 1984 I was Nanny to her children. She was a beautiful woman like a Pre Raphaelite reincarnated.
I still have 16 LA dresses in my closet that my 13 year old daughter is eyeing up!
