- Get ready for AN ENGLISH EASTER & how to style an EASTER TABLE FIT FOR BEATRIX POTTER 🐇🐣// Happy Tuesday everyone, In just a few days it will be Easter. In today's video, we're sharing a shopping trip to the British supermarket Tesco to show you a big Easter tradition here in the UK: Easter eggs! They are huge here - we do have chocolate Easter bunnies here as well and while Easter bunnies are the most popular option for an Easter basket in Germany, it's Easter eggs here. In the second half of the video, we're making a carrot patch cake because we have recently watched Peter Rabbit 2 and Peter Rabbit always reminds us of Easter. Beatrix Potter's wonderful stories never get old and she inspired us to style an Easter table that she would hopefully approve of. Happy Easter! With much love, Kirsten & Jörg xx

RECIPE MARBLE CAKE (MARMORKUCHEN):
Ingredients
250g butter, softened
200g sugar
5 eggs
vanilla bean extract or 1 vanilla pod
pinch of salt
250g self-raising flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp milk
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1tbsp sugar
50ml milk
150g dark chocolate
50g white chocolate
Method
Grease a bundt pan. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Beat the butter, vanilla bean extract and pinch of salt. Add the eggs one after another. Mix the baking powder with the flour and add 3 tablespoons of milk. Put half of the batter into a separate bowl. Mix the cocoa powder with the sugar and mix into half of the batter. Put half of the white batter into the bundt pan, then put half of the dark batter on top of it. Repeat one more time. Create a marble effect by using a spoon and bake for about 50 minutes.
Melt the dark and white chocolate separately. Pour the dark chocolate on top of the cake , then use a small amount of white chocolate and use a skewer for a marble effect. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

When I was 20 I went to Germany for the first time. It was April & while strolling around a lady came towards me with a basket of colourful Easter eggs. I thought she was selling them but when I asked her how much they were she replied that they were free.
I had many fond memories of that trip, and that red Easter egg was without doubt one of them😊

I’ve used onion skins with my kindergarten class at school. We wrapped onion skins loosely around the eggs and used elastic bands (rubber bands) around each egg to keep the skins somewhat ‘attached’ to the eggs while they were in the dye bath. They were amazingly beautiful with the marbled-like pattern created by the onion skins. The natural dyes work beautifully!

When you two are doing your cooking segments you remind me of Fanny and Johnnie Cradock. They were very big on UK television in the 60's and early 70's.
Kirsten strikes me as a much nicer person than Fanny Cradock, and i don't think Joerg is a henpecked husband (which Jonnnie was).
Those eggs at the beginning of the video were really cool. Very reasonably priced too. We have nothing like that in my area of the US but if we did they would certainly be much more expensive. You have the cutest dress on during the baking segment! Very cottagecore. ❤ By the way the table looked lovely and those marble cakes and carrot patch cake are incredible. Got a nice laugh over the bloopers and nostalgic hearing German because my best friend’s parents (they are gone now)always spoke German at the table.

Loved your Easter blog.. The Beatrix Potter inspired tablescape is fabulous..So festive and welcoming. You are so talented Kirsten with your styling.. will you be decorating g the house for Easter? will try your carrot cake recipe.. it looks so delicious! We also love watching the Peter Rabbit movies so much fun with lovely English scenery..Oh I do miss the British Easter eggs, such a massive variety in every grocery store there..Nothing like that here in the US! Today I went to a Home Goods store (similar to Homesense in U.K.) and saw one large egg for $40! Luckily our U.K. family send Easter eggs, my favourite are the Bounty ones! Love the bloopers, makes you both seem so real and make mistakes as we all do and it also makes us laugh which is good for the soul. I too made a Carrot from scratch and it came out so good. I made them for the teachers at school which they loved. Grating the carrots on a grater was the hardest part but well worth it. Have a wonderful Easter.

I love your Easter table. My German friend who used to live in my street taught me how to dye eggs with all sorts of natural pigments. The hardest bit was to blow the content of the eggs through 2 little holes and then we would hang the eggs in a binch of twigs with blossom . I love the lovely traditions you have in Germany to celebrate festivals.

Lovely Easter table, but I have to say in Italy we have bigger chocolate eggs, very bigger. They are more simple, only chocolate, not m&m, or Toblerone or kit Kat... Chocolate eggs, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate too... This year I bought all eggs with chocolate and hazelnuts, so tasty!!! Lindt are my favorite for milk chocolate! And, of course, I love Lindt bunny too!!! 🐰🐰🐰🐰

I am allergic to aluminium so I always feel down whenever I see all these easter eggs and bunnies wrapped only in aluminium foil, I can never have them nor touch them. 😢
