Hey Jeffrey, I used the e8000 recently. I found out that for it to stick properly, you have to keep pressure on the display for 24-48 hours. I recommend to flip the phone on its screen, keep it on a flat surface and put something heavy on it for a day or two. Works like a charm!
I'm actually watching this on my own 3a haha, tho mine is black because that's all my network provider had left when I bought it.. I wanted the blue one like in the video, I even have a case on top that is that color, but it's alright. I'm glad you managed to fix it, it's honestly such an amazing phone in my opinion and I love mine so much!
Hey Hugh! B7000 isn't a normal adhesive. You have to put adhesive on both surfaces (screen and frame) and wait from 5 to 10 minutes before placing the screen back on the frame. This type of adhesive is called contact adhesive. I really recommend. it's a good, and cheap adhesive when you don't have the precut ones. Only note, if the adhesive has a greenish tint, don't use it!
You have to wait for the dissolvant present in the glue to evaporate before trying to glue the display in place, 5 minutes should be enough Shoving the screen as soon as the glue is applied prevents it from curing properly and the display or any other thing you're gluing will come loose Also you should apply it on the phone body and screen so it sticks even stronger
Reset through recovery. Power, vol down until power then vol up if I'm not mistaken. Try that first. It will completely wipe your phone though so be prepared.

It's funny how we go in bins trying to save some phones and the employees of the store stop us from doing it yet we're actually recycling the phones by repairing them, isn't that the reason why they were in the bin in the first place? So they can be "reused" which is what Hugh Jefferys does with almost every phone he gets. A target employee said they donate the devices, but who do they donate them to? Who's gonna use a phone with a dead screen? Lmao
I only found one throw away phone many years ago. Someone threw it into my backyard along with a Motorola Xyboard, a discontinued tablet I wish I still had.
This liquid adhesive works not that way. You should apply it to the frame, then wait for 5-10 minutes for it to dry and after that press the display into it. When the frame and display are collapsed, you should compress it using some rubber bands or clippers and wait for 3-12 hours. In Russian repair services we're using this glue all the time. If you follow the instructions, glue works perfectly, just like factory adhesive)
@4:25 If there was a Google profile installed before wiping the phone, Android Factory Reset Protection is active, which means you would need the credentials of the previous owner.

Hugh i literally dreamed last night meeting you. Man i should stop binging your videos. An about the adhesive. I used the f7000 on my ipad. When i was done with putting the Glue to the sides, the glue was already dry. You need to be so insanely fast.
Let me give you an advice, if you apply the E8000 or B7000 kind of glues, just wait for 5-10 minutes to allow the material become more sticky. Its use is like that. Just wait for 5-10 and than put the screen on it. It will be more efficient, you'll see.
So is there anyway an Android phone can be reformatted if the previous own cannot be found? I'm assuming from comment from your other vids that iPhones that have been iCloud locked are just paperweights??? Keep up with the great work!!!👍
The E7000 and B7000 are actually rather old glue groups. TipTop is the most well known glue of this group. What you need to know about them is that these need at least 12hrs to set and 24 to 48 for complete cure. These are acetone-base, so not that toxic actually.
Instead of heavy box, next time purchase and use clamps or use tape around it? In my previous job we used small clamps with light clamp pressure. We use usually 6-8 clamps per phone while adhesive is drying. Clamping-time is around 2-4 hours per phone to be firm enough to be given back to the customer.
You should consider buying clamps for when repairing displays and needs to be seated for a while to dry. I think it just needs constant pressure for the glue to stick. Cheers!
I loved the old google 2 are 2010 it never had a number phone you could not brake it , it also had this weird 3d picture mode where you would move the phone around and it would take picture and form them into a ball. shows if they did care they could make a phone that did not brake the thing did catch on fire and it still worked.
Hello, I just want to advice you that the B7000 or E8000 has a 12hrs to 2 days curing time. You need to use some type of lcd clamps for the display panel so it won't have any gaps while the liquid adhesive cures.

So they can be "reused" which is what Hugh Jefferys does with almost every phone he gets. A target employee said they donate the devices, but who do they donate them to? Who's gonna use a phone with a dead screen? Lmao

your so calm and tame i love you man
Love your repairs
Greetings from Germany
I am also from Germany lol
I only found one throw away phone many years ago. Someone threw it into my backyard along with a Motorola Xyboard, a discontinued tablet I wish I still had.
This liquid adhesive works not that way.
You should apply it to the frame, then wait for 5-10 minutes for it to dry and after that press the display into it. When the frame and display are collapsed, you should compress it using some rubber bands or clippers and wait for 3-12 hours.
In Russian repair services we're using this glue all the time. If you follow the instructions, glue works perfectly, just like factory adhesive)
While drying applied without display attached this glue becomes like a sticky tape.
FINALLY! another google pixel restoration.
Am I the only one that loves the way he says “ and we’re done”
guy u are a legend keep doing the work u do! all the best!
@4:25 If there was a Google profile installed before wiping the phone, Android Factory Reset Protection is active, which means you would need the credentials of the previous owner.
for MacBook airs how do you get mac os x installed from a usb or something
Most Macs since about 2010 will happily boot over the network and download an operating system, letting you install to a blank hard drive/ssd…
@@colinpye1430 thanks but my 2011 MacBook installs lion and I don’t think that’s supported anymore and it said something like can’t download the additional components to install
So, here we use E8000 and F7000, you need to use rubber bands and apply pressure for 2 days, it keeps everything watertight and its fairly easy to open if you messed up something or something goes wrong
Jeffrey using mystery glue is hilarious 🤣
Love the fact that the 3a has a plastic back! I am going to switch to a phone without glass on the back. I managed to break it when it was in a case 😂. Hate those trends, although it isn't that expensive to fix, it is still annoying
Ahhh... a great video again!
I love the dedication
I found 5 iPhone 11 Pro Max still sealed in their boxes in a dumpster. I thought I had won the Lotto. Got home and opened one and set it up and checked the IEMI number. It was blocked so I knew straight away they were stolen. HAnded them in at the police station and was told a local phone shop had been robbed a couple of days before.
I’ve had my iPhone 6 for 3 years. It’s starting to overheat and the cans don’t work after fixing the screen. The phone still works. Best phone
Now we got dumpster dived tech! You’re really popping off mate
Hey... Good video as usual 👍 but today i also did the same thing. ... Replaced xiaomi redmi note 4 display , applied same E8000 glue at sides and that aceylic tape top and bottom, but like u even i had to open the phone again because the acrylic tape was not strong enough and as i was using the phone the screen was separating from top due to the heat...
So i ooened again cleaned glue with isopropanol and wd40 then applied E8000 all over this time no tape and now its perfect 😀
hate apple for destroying the term '3rd party repair' (if anyone from apple company or ppl who r gonna buy apple, be aware) and plz dont destroy 3rd repair party, plz ppl like hugh, are saving the environment, And Hugh, may mother earth's blessings be with u
where do you buy your iphone screens other than ifixit, if aliexpress or ebay can you recommend a specific seller thanks
When I worked for a refurbished electronic place, we used blu tack to clean speaker grills and other ports including microphone speaker grille
Hugh i literally dreamed last night meeting you. Man i should stop binging your videos.
An about the adhesive. I used the f7000 on my ipad. When i was done with putting the Glue to the sides, the glue was already dry. You need to be so insanely fast.
I dreamed using discord :/
@@zsin128 do u mean that u used discord in ur actual dreams

Let me give you an advice, if you apply the E8000 or B7000 kind of glues, just wait for 5-10 minutes to allow the material become more sticky. Its use is like that. Just wait for 5-10 and than put the screen on it. It will be more efficient, you'll see.
So is there anyway an Android phone can be reformatted if the previous own cannot be found?
I'm assuming from comment from your other vids that iPhones that have been iCloud locked are just paperweights???
Keep up with the great work!!!👍
even in australia people go thru phone recycling bins, never knew that :D
Legend says that Hugh Jeffery hearts comments
He Sure Does!
The E7000 and B7000 are actually rather old glue groups. TipTop is the most well known glue of this group.
What you need to know about them is that these need at least 12hrs to set and 24 to 48 for complete cure.
These are acetone-base, so not that toxic actually.
Hope you guys are strong on NNN. Good luck!
when you glue down the screen, you could add some rubber band to hold them in place.
Cheers!
Cutting down on Ewaste. Great Job 👏🏾.
Im new here, but love your content. If i may ask what happens when you are done repairing the devices?
I loved the old google 2 are 2010 it never had a number phone you could not brake it , it also had this weird 3d picture mode where you would move the phone around and it would take picture and form them into a ball. shows if they did care they could make a phone that did not brake the thing did catch on fire and it still worked.
Between you and EEVblog, I need to change dumpsters.
YESSS Another Video I Love Your Videos And I Hope By Christmas You Will Go Viral And You Will Get 1M Subscribers
Welcome to another Hugh Jeffreys video and in this video
Chloe watching this video like - 👀👀 😂
Hello, I just want to advice you that the B7000 or E8000 has a 12hrs to 2 days curing time. You need to use some type of lcd clamps for the display panel so it won't have any gaps while the liquid adhesive cures.
Also its a good idea to use some rubber band to let the screen attach properly and the glue dry perfectly
