    10:33 the method of display refurbishment is rather simple. Basically the display is heated to melt the OCA holding the glass on, and then is cut using a thin wire. Once that's done, you wipe the extra adhesive off, and then reglue the new glass. If you're interested, I'd gladly explain further. There's also a fantastic seller based in Perth (WA) that can get you a machine to do it.

  • @xavierm6969

    Be careful when replacing the screen. I got my Pixel 3 repaired and the 2 fronts camera collect dust over time. Dust enter by the upper speaker gril and make its way into the camera housing. Not sure how, but my repair shop tried 3 times to fixe this problem and they failed to resolve the issue. I think your could simply put some adhesives around those front lenses before securing them in place. Otherwise, really great video, keep it up!

    Restoring broken phones to working condition is very nice. Wanted to buy some then let someone with good experience do it. The thing is only a few countries have the luxury of having to get good parts from a place that is good. Most suppliers like the ones Hugh is sourcing from dont even do worldwide shipping and if they do, shipping is very2 expensive, at which, almost everytime, costs near to a brand new phone.
    Love the videos btw.

    idk if im the only one with this take, but this was google's peak phone design; the symmetry with the bezels, dual front speakers, decent screen, and overall design. i would not have been mad at all if they kept this design for the pixel 4, just with the 90hz screen.

    • @jacobdrj101
      @jacobdrj101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, but understand. It isn't a bad opinion at all...
      I wish Samsung would have kept iterating the Note 4... Flat screen... It blaster... IP rating... Plastic back... Just put new guts into it... Note 8/9, while I hate the glass back and curved screen and lack of it blaster, was a huge win for iterative design... The 9 is way better than the 8, and a 10 could have kept that up...

    For battery stripes: loosen them so that you can grip them (no further!) And place a few drops of isopropanol between the stripe and the battery and let them take effect. After about a minute, the strips can (usually) be removed without problems by pulling them out. Incidentally, this applies to such phones as well as to iPhones: ISO-propanol IS your friend.
