So glad I found this video, I've had this camera for more than 10 years and it's been sitting on my shelf for a very long time. I finally picked it up the other day and now I'm doing research on how to even use it! I've learned a lot with this short video so thank you very much 🙏
@pinkhatphotography Can you go more into details on how to take pictures of nature, travel, etc! I’m going to be using this camera for that. Also best editing ie: i have apple mac lap top! Imovie, and photoshop editing how to 🙏🏼
My D3200 sat on the shelf for 10 years....until I watched this person show the right settings for good pictures. It works! My other camera is a TZ70...takes excellent pictures ..set it to AI ...takes excellent pictures every time....not into turtle vision... Good job explaining how to set up the d3200.!
This was my first DSLR. I've taken some decent images with this camera paired with the 35mm f1.8 prime during my travels. I switched to mirrorless last year.
@@PinkhatPhotography I was pleasantly surprised of how good the images are that come out of the Fuji straight out of camera. I rarely need to edit any of them. 90% of the time, I carry the Fuji with me. It's just more fun to shoot with. When I need superior AF, I bring the Sony. It takes super sharp images, especially with a prime lens.
I've subscribed! Keep you the great work. I need to practice weekly. Can you do a series, ex. nature, animals, portraits ( single & group) sports and etc.😊
Thank You for this video. Really helpful. Would this camera be good for making TH-cam videos for beginners? Or would a standard iPhone 14 be better for 1080p video? Haven’t found any information on this subject.
Hi, i would like to take sweet 16 pic of my daughter outdoor. What time do you think is best and the exact setting. It's a shame I have this camera for years and haven't used it. I really appreciate your assistance!
That isn't a super easy question to answer, well it is but there is no blanket solution. It depends on if its inside outside, time of day available lighting. I usually recommend aperture f8ish, iso 100 outside and 800-1200 depending on lighting inside, sometimes faster. With aperture priority just be careful your shutter speed doesnt go to low or the photos will be blurry. so like if youre using a 50mm lens dont go under 1/50th of a second, 85mm dont go under 1/80th, 35mm dont go under 1/30th of a second. I hope that make sense and helps!
@@PinkhatPhotography Thank you for that, the venue will be in a mansion and its grounds, there will be a wedding photographer there but as I’m the brides dad I was looking to take some photos myself as well, the lenses I will use are 50mm and 18-105 each on a Nikon D3200,once again thank you for your advice

Nick what would be your Canon and Nikon picks in 2022 as the most affordable "professional" grade versions of both having a budget of around $800.00, glass not included.
The Nikon d750 is a fantastic full frame dslr, on eBay they sell for 500-700 and in that same price range is the canon eos 5d mark III, which I have some experience with, that being a very positive experience lol, the reviews for both are pretty positive too!
I just got one of this with a 35mm and a 50mm lens and I want to start shooting portraits but before shooting people I’m going to practice on animals and just items out door, but I know for the type of pictures I’m trying to achieve most of the battle is going to be editing and I was wondering if you’d make a video on how to edit your photos, I have a Mac I’m going to start using probably to edit. In some ways you're absolutely correct. If you want to have larger prints it helps having more megapixels. The d5100 is generally cheaper, has more features and less noise at higher iso. Either is great for anything that is going to remain digital. The race for megapixels isn't the only thing to consider
@@PinkhatPhotography low noise on high iso is certainly highly desirable. I agree that lower mp can produce nicer photos in that the pixel density is lower. My reason for getting the d3200, was, however, that one was available to me for very low cost and i specifically wanted a high magnaparcel sensor for landscape and product photography.
I shoot car photography with my Nikon d3200. Just gif it and I’m new to cameras. Are there any lens I can get that would be good for the camera that is $200 or less?
Appreciate your response there! I think I managed to figure out. Only works on actual screen. Doesn't work on my laptop or computer but did work on my monitor when I unplugged the system unit
Affordable means many things. I recently bought an excellent condition Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens for less than $200. If/when I would ever want to sell it, I can get that much money for it. The yongnou 50mm will not sell for a good price. Lastly, i just can't believe that yongnou glass is as good as Nikkor.
At 80 bucks the yongnou takes absolutely amazing photos, and for most applications l, regarding folks wanting to get into photography with a budget in mind, it doesn't need to be that extra 5-10 percent better to match Nikkor.

Why buy the D5100 which it is a much lesser camera? This is 8mp less than the D3200. If you get that perfect picture you want to blow up more than a 8x10, a 24mp image will do it much better. This is no opinion, it is fact. That is why I chose the D3200 over the D5100. I don't care about the little screen being moveable.
I mean yeah, if you don't care about the screen movement it doesn't matter. At 8x10 you're not going to see a difference in 8mp, I've printed a ton of images from a 6mp Nikon d70 at 8x10 and they look just as clear and sharp as my 16mp images and my 24mp images. The d5100 has more options when it comes to video because of that screen and since it's generally cheaper on the used market that leaves more budget for lenses which are the most important part of your kit.
Thanks! Yeah no there really is nothing wrong with the d3200, I know more than a handful of pros that got started on it, and I love the one I have, a lot of my advice on older cameras is aimed at bang for the buck and stretching a budget
