PS. The Indiana Jones movies vary in quality, but Harrison ford was always great as Jones, and, even as an octogenarian, still brings a lot of charisma and charm to the role he was born to play. When I was a little kid, Indiana Jones was my hero… and he still is.

Harrison Ford has "accompanied" me all my life. I know 90% of his work well. It wasn't easy to collect and watch all the films with him. This was the only way I realized what he had achieved! With Indy 5, he also ends his third major role, which will always be associated with him. More than about the new film, I'm happy to see it so healthy and full of energy. "May the Force be with him!"
The award he received was the capstone to his career. Understandably an emotional moment. An industry nod to a fantastic career and, to Ford, the realization of the impending end of his career and life.

@@AAMPictures I agree. The reviews on RT so far aren't great, but hopefully it will be better than Crystal Skull. IMO, Crystal Skull was the worst one (and I don't think I'm alone in that opinion), and you'd want to end the series on a higher note. Last Crusade was my favorite, followed by Raiders.

Regardless of what reviews say in the end I will see this film. I love so many of the projects that Harrison has done over the years, many that don’t get mentioned. Air Force One for example I think is a fabulous movie, and he plays the part of the president superbly.
My Dad and Mom had just got divorced back in 1981 and my Dad took me to the first Indiana Jones movie on my weekend visit and it really helped as a get away for me at that time… Alway’s loved Indiana Jones because of that…

By the way, 5 minutes for an ovation in Cannes is not great at all, and this has already been acknowledged by the media because lots of critics that were present at the premiere have reported this in their mostly negative reviews. I like your optimism, but I'm afraid it doesn't look very good for the final chapter of this famous franchise.

As a fan I have to say 3 out of 5 Indiana Jones films being great isn't a bad record. Most fans have mixed feelings about Kingdom of Crystal Skull, and I think given Kathleen Kennedy unpopular maybe it will have mixed reviews. But as a fan it is Harrison Ford last time as Indiana Jones, so fans may be sympathetic to Ford's last film. I don't know what legacy Dial of Destiny will leave but it is still fun to see one last Indiana Jones film.
Indiana Jones wouldn't be the same without Harrison Ford.... I love these movies❤

Early reviews mean nothing. Also, Jurassic World: Dominion was mostly positive, but it was a disappointment to most JP fans.

Well based on the reviews I read, the ovation was for him not the movie. Apparently people were talking during the movie because it was boring. But honestly what can you believe anymore...
Harrison Ford received that 5 minute ovation for his performance in the movie, not the movie itself. At least, that's what has been reported in the media.
By the way, 5 minutes for an ovation in Cannes is not great at all, and this has already been acknowledged by the media because lots of critics that were present at the premiere have reported this in their mostly negative reviews.
I like your optimism, but I'm afraid it doesn't look very good for the final chapter of this famous franchise.

As a fan I have to say 3 out of 5 Indiana Jones films being great isn't a bad record. Most fans have mixed feelings about Kingdom of Crystal Skull, and I think given Kathleen Kennedy unpopular maybe it will have mixed reviews. But as a fan it is Harrison Ford last time as Indiana Jones, so fans may be sympathetic to Ford's last film. I don't know what legacy Dial of Destiny will leave but it is still fun to see one last Indiana Jones film.
It has to be a billion box office hits to make it happen
